  1. we did tulum and chichen itza, tulum would have been better for us if we had had a better guide and or more time there. we were only there 2 hours on the tour we did and it just wasnt enough time. chichen itza was amazing! our guide was fantastic and we were there about 3 hours. honestly we would have loved to stay another 2 hours at least but it was just too hot! so even tho we werent really done seeing everything, it was so hot we were ready to go back to the bus and cool off. from GBP it was a full 2 hour ride. for more info on the tours we did, click on the honeymoon link in my siggy
  2. wow, your dress was absolutely stunning! you looked so gorgeous great review, and of course as usual, sol's pics are amazing!

  4. BUMP i added a couple pics and my entire Akumal shutterfly album for anyone interested
  5. hi jenn! i just wrote you on FB for me it was on the walk/path to the sacrifice cenote area, soooo creepy. doug said "wow can you imagine this is the same walk the people took on their way to see that happen" or something like that, and in 90+ degree weather, i got the chills! and then we totally got the vibe next to the ball court, when we were standing by the wall of heads. thinking about the "winners" getting beheaded for being worthy of ascending right on past the 13 levels and straight up to the gods, and it happened right there inside that walled area! (ok at least thats what our guide told us. haha, sidenote, on the flight home we watched Slumdog Millionaire and the part where the boys were giving tours around Taj Mahal, it totally made us laugh and look at each other. that just made me remember i wanted to come home and google what really is "thought" to have happened at chichen itza, to see if the "story" matches up with what we were told on our tour, hahahahaha )

Well i was at GBP so maybe that's why i felt that way. They did not have the swing bar when i was there BOOOO! That would of been so much fun. Looks like they added another resort since i was there too. no way! i dont think i knew you went there before (or else i forgot) I got a little excited when i saw the turtle painting and the artist has the same last name as me. YES! im so glad you caught that, its really the only reason i took the pic! heehee, i saw it and i said to doug, hey maybe they are related to danielle! so then i snapped a pic Xelha looks beautiful. You guys took a lot of day trips and really had some great experiences. Thanks for sharing with us. PS i love the 2 blue dresses you had hanging in my closet. thanks! they are both leftover from the wedding, i wore the striped one to my rehearsal and the patterned one to my shower now they are vacation/summer dresses, but um they are a bit tighter than last year um yah, 20 pounds tighter! yikes!

I just wanted to share my pics with anyone just wanting a quick fix of the area, I know how when I was planning our wedding I would take anything haha Enjoy! 10. this was probably already mentioned somewhere in this thread but.... you know you are addicted to BDW when you recognize font names out in the real world. "hey, isnt that Scriptina in that magazine add/on that billboard?" or "oh look, they used Copperplate Lite on this cheese label!" (or whatever hahaha, you kwim!)
  11. ok girls, sorry this is such horrible footage and i have no info to go along with it other that in person it was obviously a wedding reception, at the main pool area at Tulum, and there was a DJ and lots of crazy dancing! i actually got all teary as i watched! i was so jealous that we didnt do our wedding this way. anyways, we obviously werent going to intrude, but i shot this video standing on the bridge that crosses the pool by the swim-up bar. Tulum Pool Wedding Reception again sorry for the poor quality, it was dark and far away so i was on zoom. but i figured you Tulum girls might appreciate it it was a wedding reception our first night, so it would have been April 11, 2009.

Last time I was in Mexico the Canadian $ was under valued so I had exchanged to US first. Any advice? Thanks a bunch!! yes, $1 US is equal to 12.80 pesos (subject to change at any time, and of course also subject to where you exchange $! it varies.) also that would be 1$ CA is equal to 18.00 pesos!! wowza, yes its true, since the ca $ is actually worth more than the us $ right now it would follow suit that it would be worth even MORE in mx pesos yay for my neighbors up north! ~as far as bringing US vs. CA $ i honestly dont think you will be able to buy anything with CA cash. all the shops and places where you pay for things accept US or pesos, not CA. ~as far as exchanging your $ when you get there at a bank, or using a hotel cashier, i assume you will get more if you trade CA$ over US$ (because CA$ ir worth more), does that make sense? hope that helps.
  13. shite, trisha for some reason your post reminded me that i forgot to take a pic of the weird plug outlet thingies to post in the GBP thread. dang it! we brought an extender thing with us that we already had at home, but it was a smidge too big. doug heated up the iron and melted the edges of our extender thingy and squooshed it into a shape that would fit (super safe and smart, i know!) and it totally worked just fine! oh and they did sell them in the shop for like $3, but if someone bought a couple at the $1 store before the trip , hmmmmm or actually that wouldnt be a horrible OOT bag addition, for a dollar each!
  14. honestly, if it were my friend, and even if they got the tattoos after i asked her to be in the wedding, not only would i not ask her to cover them, but unles the tattoo was something specifically offensive in some way, i wouldnt even have them photoshopped out. besides the bare fact that it could be difficult and time consuming for the photog to do that, the basic thing is: you are not friends with her because she has/doesnt have tattoos. if they show in your pictures, so what? thats her, who she is, and how she chooses to express herself, and regardless of if she got the tattoos after you asked her or not, i would just deal with it by getting over it. if she is that easily offended that you cant even ask her to cover them up, then she will be even more offended when you have them photoshopped out. when she sees your finished pictures, she will be hurt and upset thinking you dont like her for who she is, and that you couldnt even bother to talk to her about it, kwim? sorry to be blunt but i just think it crosses the line when people pick and choose attributes of their friends that really dont matter or apply to how good of a friend she is. thats not unconditional friend-love. the point is, you love her as your friend, you should love how she chooses to express herself, and if that means possibly seeing her tattoos in your wedding pics, so be it. besides, do you really want your photog to be focusing so much time and effort on your friends tattoos, or on you looking beautiful and gorgeous on your big day? the more the photog has to worry about posing your friend, the less your photog will be worried about posing YOU perfectly. also would you rather they spend so much time editing out tattoos from the pics, or making sure to correct everything perfectly with how YOU look? personally i would rather look better than everyone else in my pics haha either way, good luck!
  15. omg sorry im a post whore today. anyways, fyi the $ exchange rate at the hotel last week was: pesos to us$=12.80 pesos to ca$=18.00 (holy moly! thats super amazing)
