  1. Could it be that maybe some older posts with links have been dumped and that is why when I click on a link in a post from like last July or whatever, it just redirects me back to the main page?
  2. That sucks Kate, but it sounds like you guys are good planners with your finances, that is awesome. Thats always the scariest part. When Doug got laid off from Alaska 3 years ago we were freaked out because he had just gone part time the week before so he could do more school stuff with the kids that spring. Then his whole work group (472 people!) got laid off and Doug got stuck with part-time unemployment. We had it tight for a while until he got called back to Boeing. But it sounds like you are in a better place than we were. Keep your chin up and something fun will come along. Let us know what happens!
  3. I just want to get the free lunch! If someone else isn't gonna get it cause they'll be too busy fighting! Hehe!
  4. Her work is beautiful Thanks for sharing, can't wait to see YOUR pics!
  5. Yea! I finally bought Doug's shirt for the wedding, I've been looking and looking and finally found one at Macy's (I did NOT see the same one online at all.) Extra yea!, it was on sale for $29.00 and its 100% silk. I love the little buttons, and it has a subtle pineapple pattern. It's soooo soft, and it's the perfect shade of ivory to match my dress, plus the type of silk has the same matte finish like the satin of my dress. Love Love Love it and it looks sooo good on him too! Couldn't get him to pose for me tho Now I just need to find the other guys stuff!
  6. Wow Steph, so good to know. I hope things with this situation continue to improve, besides that you don't need the stress right now, obviously you don't want anything to happen to her. We'll keep praying for you and her. Big Hugs!
  7. OK, finally got mine mostly up and running! Some things I'll tweak, I'm sure, over the next month before it goes public on our STD's. I've been working on it here and there since October! It was $89 even from Wedding Websites - Create your free premium wedding web site!. Enjoy! abbieanddoug.com
  8. Thanks guys! And actually Sunshine is my middle name, product of the 70's, I know, I know. We liked how it sounds better with first and middle names, not first and last.
  9. Bre those were awesome pics, you look so happy and beautiful! Congrats!
  10. OMG! Beautiful! Can't wait to see more. Love Love Love the parasols and the pink dresses. So pretty!
  11. I just googled "coupon codes for free vistaprint postcards" and designed the image using my own pic upload and their postcard making program. Paid less than $7.00 for postage for 100 of them! Also got these address labels, 140 for $2.24 plus shipping. We also ordered our supplies for making message-in-a-bottle STD's thru Sand Blast Entertainment and we are going to roll the postcard up and put it inside with all the sand and shells and whatnots. I'll post that part later when we get that stuff done, but I wanted to give you guys something fun to look at for now!
  12. Wow that is gorgeous! Pics! Pics! Pics! With you in it!
  13. Those are soooooo cute. I love that they look comfy but still pretty with the lace. Also because they are boyshorts, you won't be pickin' you butt all day in your big fancy weddin' dress
  14. I voted YES but here's my explanation, Knowing that Valentines day is right around the corner, I would hold off at least until then to see if he gets the job done then. If he finally brings the bling, by all means send 'em, and fast! If he is still dragging his heels, let him know in the kindest way possible that it's not just you waiting on the ring, but that any guests will need this official confirmation of your engagement to start planning financially and you have to let them know you're engaged and send the STD's asap in order to do this. I don't know his entire situation, maybe it's $ or nerves or whatever that has put a hitch in his giddyup, so don't push him, ESPECIALLY if you are cool with eloping to an awesome, stress free DW by yourselves. ANYWAYS, we are sending STD's since our wedding is in the middle of summer, when lots of families like to take vacations. We have a lot of kids at our wedding, so that's where our heads are at with the STD thing. Meanwhile, I'll be praying for you that he gives you a huge box of chocolates with a ring hiding in the box for Valentines day!

Throughout all the islands you will find many Hawaiian names, words and expressions used in daily life. In fact 85% of all place names in Hawaii are Hawaiian and often have interesting stories behind how they got the name. The Polynesians never had a written language until the Missionaries arrived and found they needed a Hawaiian Bible, so they quickly developed a twelve letter alphabet. It includes five vowels and seven consonants which are pronounced just as they are in English except for the W, which is often pronounced as a V. Hawaiian Pidgin or Slang is another common way of communicating in everyday conversation amongst locals. Here are a few words that you may hear during your visit to the islands.
