UPDATE: YAY! We did it! So far we have a block of 12 rooms, and 5 are booked! So excited! In my other thread explaining how we ended up with Cabo (http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t18070), I had mentioned that we wanted to stay at Royal Solaris, a hotel we've been to many times and love. When I called to check industry discount rates it ended up being a lot more than we usually pay. So, the search began! Today I stumbled upon RIU Santa Fe, and immediately jumped on the forum to see what I could find about it. Then Doug also reminded me of Reviews of vacations, hotels, resorts, vacation and travel packages - TripAdvisor (which I LOVEHEARTLOVE!). My favorite part is how you can see pictures that "real" people have taken with their own cameras, and not just the official ones that the hotel wants you to see. Anyways, we loved what we saw, and they have an amazing industry discount available since the property is so new (just opened Nov 07), and they are trying to drum up customers. We called everyone involved, and told them what we would like to do, and so far they are all on board with the plan! The only problem is we want to book this ASAP (like tomorrow!), but my mom JUST had her downstairs converted from old carpet to hardwood and doesn't have the money for the deposit at the moment. So, we have to keep our fingers crossed, and hope the industry rate is still available next week, or that we can book another room after the initial deposit is set. It’s kinda weird when you non-rev to important events! Oh well, I figure we’ll get her a room whatever we have to do, and if worse comes to worse, we’ll just pay out the nose for a random room for her later. I met Peter Reckell at the airport He was VERY hot, and this was about a year ago! He aged well! And I used to LOVE DOOL, i would race home from school to watch it, since we got out at 310pm, and it started at 3! I stopped watching due to I finally worked "normal-people" hours, probably like the year after Passions started. Days got to be way too much like Passions, way too over the top. But I've been thinking about picking it up again lately since I sometimes have TH & FR off now.. Maybe I'll just read this thread occasionaly, since the show doesn't change that often!

I always wondered about the diamond white thing. I thought it meant that it was blatantly sparkling stark white, like a colorless diamond. But now I'm seeing people mention it being off-white. What's the deal? And why is it called diamond white?

I think that if you feel you have to explain things, then by all means, do. If you think that it will just complicate things and get messy by trying to make them feel better by having to explain your choices, then don't, just let it happen and enjoy your day. If she asks, or if someone else asks for her, just tell her thr truth, you were struggling with your decision, and decided that since even tho you hang out and have fun in a group, you are not that close with her and you figured she would understand. As for Lori, I would leave it, and not ask her, and tell her the same if the question comes up, except tell her that you were struggling with the decision and you thought she would understand the situation, and leave it at that. RIU Santa Fe was just opened in Fall of 07, altho newer its not the luxury property as described above. BUT- I would assume since it's new, it's got to be beautiful. The website for the hotel looks pretty good. Can't wait to see Sandra's review!

ARGH! I am so with you on this. At Old Navy I can buy any ladies shirt in a size L, but any place you have custom orders made, in the ladies sizes, they are so freakin small! Even when you go to places like Disneyland, Las Vegas or wherever and you want to buy a souvenier t-shirt, unless it's the "unisex" Hanes Beefy-T style, they all run so freakin small! Not fair! Even when I was 10 years younger and 30 lbs smaller, they were always too short (I was never a tummy bearing kind of girl). So freakin' frustrating!
