I could have put on a paper sack and felt good. The feelings will make you feel wonderful- not the dress. Maybe find a reception dress that you love. That way you can sit comfortably and it wouldn't be as expensive as purchasing a whole new wedding dress. i was thinking if i ran across $400.00 and some extra time i might go buy the one i love and use it for the mexico wedding, two weddings, two dresses? but i dont think i'll get extra $ any time soon, oh well. i'm sure i'll be ok with it, my mom and i are going to play around with the bustle and see if there is a way to make it less foo-foo, tying less points or something, and also, i liked it was more when it was laced the way my mom did it, and the bra worn the way i liked it and not all crazy like they say "it's supposed to be". i think trying it on at home will make me more comfortable with it. ok, hijack over!

That's all that matters. thanks rachel, dont get me wrong i think my dress is beautiful, it's so pretty and amazing, BUT, it's just not ME. i don't feel comfortable in it, i don't want the WOW factor that comes with it, i just wish i had realized that before the alterations. it's so hard to sit in, with the 16 point bustle up under my a$$, plus i've got the corset thing, and like you, my boobs get shoved up under my chin and i can't breathe i wish i would have bought this other dress that feels more like me, fleece sweats and tshirts!
  5. I know some girls have given them out before the trip, so the guest can pack them on their own. 2 problems I see with this is 1)not everyone lives near you, and 2)what if they dont'/forget to pack it??
  6. Jenny, so excited and happy for you, and jealous as well. I didn't realize I wanted a different dress until I had paid for the alterations So no backsies Can't wait to see pics of the new one!

  9. UPDATE-UPDATE!! i'm gonna post after #38 the link and password to view our pics! they came back super fast!! i only actually love about 3 of them, then i like about 4 more, the rest i can do without. you know how you get all super picky about them! only 1 of them has been retouched, the color one at the beginning. the rest are still proofs. enjoy! UPDATE! Looks like we'll get to do them tonight (THURS 24APR)! The forecast calls for skies clearing to partly sunny this afternoon!! YAY SO EXCITED!! I just realized we're doing our engagment pics on Tuesday! I'm so excited! We're going to Alki beach which is about 5 minutes from our house in West Seattle. Pray for sun! Doug and I have NEVER had formal pics taken of us, and I'm looking forward to having some finally! Our photog says we should have proofs online about 2 days after, and I'm going to try my damndest to get some up here for you guys BUT, I don't have high hopes. Altho he takes digital pics, he does not do slideshows or give our proofs on CD, he's VERY protective of his rights as the "owner" of his art, which I can understand, BUT I'm SO wishing I would have known my options before booking him. I LOVE his work, but if I would have done more research beforehand, well, you know. Anyways, I'm hoping the pics on the website he gives us will be "right-clickable" so I can save them and show you guys, otherwise I'll have to wait until the ones we order come in and then I can scan them for you. At the very least I hope I'll have the kind of website from him where I can give you guys the password and you can check them out for yourselves!

Great review!

  15. i like number 2. no, they need not match, but for me, picking wedding colors was about incorporating a theme throughout, so ALL my stuff matches.
  16. wow maura! so pretty! i had to go to bed last night, but here i am first thing checking it out love it! can't wait to see it all done up! hooray for pickup skirts!

My Mom found them actually -- and then I found the candleholders. They also have starfish shaped bowls in the same color scheme as the plates, so I picked up a few of those to use for snacks at the AHR. I LOVE the Dollar Tree!!! right on! we have dollar trees up here too, i'll have to check it out!

  19. Tami, it all looks great! I can't wait to see it all come together! Where did you get the plates for your centerpieces, and how the heck did you do them so cheap?!?!
