well usually you would purchase a toss bouquet specifically for this, but still! they are $$ too!

wow maura, i didnt know this! i think if i had the $ i would make sure to ask them what they prefer, meal or not, and then order the plated meal at my own expense. it just seems wrong not to. but then of course, the reason i asked in the first place is because i was kind of thinking, i'm a grown and responsible adult, and if i was out and about away from food or home for more than a 3 hour stretch, i would bring at least snacks and something to drink with me. so i wasn't sure if that's how someone in the business of not being able to easily access food or home might be too.

you know what? i was totally thinking i would, and looking around at some, and when i told doug he needs to pick a song for the DJ to play during this and the toss, he was like "we have to do that? i dont want to!" and so we decided to not have a garter or bouquet toss. i think it's something that is sort of "expected" at weddings, but i dont think anyone will miss it if we don't do it. so, in other words, i'm saving $ by not buying a garter or bouquet! yay!

thanks for the input danielle, we dont have servers and what not, and our "caterer" is dougs mom who does that on the side (no assistants). so i just wasn't sure what to do about it. i guess i'll just fill him in ahead of time that it's not catered and that they should feel free to eat! since we wont have a separate person to handle getting food to them. i guess? we have a 6 hr contract with them.

i ended up having to do a small registry at BBB, for my shower. my aunties thought it was weird that we weren't "really" registered anywhere. it pisses me off that people get mad at us for us not wanting anything! it's like they automatically assume that means we want cash. i'm not an idiot, of course i'd like both gifts and cash, but really i just want people to celebrate with us! why get mad at me for trying to save them some time and money!

for our BFW (big freakin wedding) at home we have hired a photographer and his wife/assistant. we will have a buffet-style meal served, and i'm wondering, do we invite our photog and asst to eat? since it's not a sit-down-plated meal, i'm just not sure what the proper etiquette would be. it's not like i have to place a special order for them, or extra meals or anything. but we would love for them to eat if they have time! is this something i could ask him what he'd like for us to do? thanks for any comments, from photogs and anyone else who has had a big at home wedding/AHR with photog.

OMG i can't believe it either! this time goes SOOOOOO fast!

i had thought i just wanted one 2mm band with my solitaire e-ring, but when i went to try them on this weekend, i think i found a set i like better. i had my solitaire set up pretty high, so you can clearly see the point and underside of the diamond. i realized when i tried on 2mm bands with it, there are some styles that wont look right because of a higher profile than others. then i tried on a few contour bands, which dont work either because my diamond is not set low enough to need that wide of a curve. then the jeweler put another contour on top of the e-ring, opposite direction, and it looked so cool! so i think i might do that, if its in the budget. 8 weeks left and we still havent gotten our rings! oops! this is the ring, but picture another one flipped over, and in between both, my e-ring solitaire.
