  1. wow there are lots of other threads about this so don't feel alone! my dress was $299, and my alterations total was $260, the bustle being most of that due to a 16 point pick-up bustle
  2. thanks again everyone ok a couple things, we finally mailed them out! YYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY! and also, apparently to mail in the clear envelopes it cost extra, so they should have only been $0.59, but they were $0.79. so in that case we decided to go with a bit more expensive but extra cute stamps, they were $0.90 and the same ones we used on our STD's, sooo pretty! and everyone keeps calling and saying things like how expensive they must have been, and asking where we got them. heehee, i say, ME, i made them! and we really truly spent under $250 for 100 invitations worth of supplies. sweet!!

Any information would be great. Thanks, Heather i just googled sand ceremony then picked the one i liked the best and tweaked it to fit. i think you could probably tweak this one to fit with the neice and nephew, somehow. just change up the wording to make it say having them celebrate with their uncle and new auntie!

  9. morgan, the main job i have been doing for my airline the last 4 years is wheelchair services! my best advice for dad is to call ahead to the airline and make sure they put a special code in his reservation that requests wheelchair services. when he gets to the airport to check in he needs to let the agent know he will need a pusher to get him thru security and to his gate. (im assuming he has his own manual power wheelchair?) if he has a battery operatied wheelchair or scooter, he can take care of himself, but you should still let the airline know he needs aislechair assistance on the aircraft (if he can't or really has trouble walking or being mobile himself), also that he has this type of his own mobility device (again im assuming he has his own mobility device and wont be needing to borrow one at the airports.) once he arrives at his gate after going thru security, tell him to let the agent know he needs early boarding so they are aware he is there and ready to go, and also to double check that he will have wheelchair assistance waiting for him upon arrival in cancun. after that, it's up to the airline agents to make sure he gets priority boarding and settled on the plane. oh yeah, dont forget to tell him if he does want early boarding to get food and or use the restroom prior to the early boarding time to ensure he is at the gate ready to go when the agents are best able to assist him. hope that helps, let me know if you have any more Q!

  21. yup! i've got it all done up, i wrote the whole ceremony, well, ok i searched and edited to fit us and our situation, and blended a few different ceremonies together (feel free to borrow!) Sand Ceremony Minister - TREVOR: There are two children who will share in this marriage. Trevor and Alixzandra will now come forward to help us with the Blending of the Sands. The joining of this new family will have a deep influence upon them. We realize that in order for the home to be a happy one, it is essential that there be love and understanding between the children and the adults being married. For Trevor and Ali the celebration can be more than just witnessing. This is an opportunity for them to bring themselves into the new family and in a symbolic sense to give themselves to this new venture of the marriage of their father. Abbie and Doug, today you are making a life-long commitment to share the rest of your lives with each other and honor Doug’s children as well. Your family relationship is symbolized through the pouring of these individual containers of sand. One representing you, Abbie, and all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be, one representing you, Doug, and all that you were and all that you are, and all that you will ever be and another container for each child. As you each hold your sand, the separate containers of sand represent your lives to this moment; individual and unique. As you now combine your sand together, your lives also join together as one family. You may now blend the sand together symbolizing the uniting of the children and bride and groom into one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so will be your marriage and your family.
  22. yay heidi! soooo exciting! can't wait for more pics have fun moving!
