I adore the 3rd photo you posted of just you and Doug. It was really "in the moment" if you know what i mean? Wasn't doing a TTD fun? thanks mel! all of the ones with the sunlight streaming down are from doug's camera, i cant believe it caught that awesome trick of light i had so much fun! i wish i could get away with doing it every time we go to mexico, haha, i can just picture lugging that dress down there 2 times a year, just for photo sessions prolly not
  3. hi maura, the only advice i have is that target doesnt do alterations, and i've found that their clothes dont really fit me that well. i didnt buy a "wedding dress" but i did buy an ivory lace mizrahi dress there to change into at the end of my reception. i am almost 5'3" and about 160 lbs, and it was obviously made for someone at least 5'8", the length i kept anyways, at my calves, but i had to shorten the straps about an inch on both sides, and also i had to tack down the V part of the neckline because it was way too big. so i think as long as you get it and can have it altered to fit you, by all means, save some moolah! oh, plus, you can always return it if you dont like it in person.
  4. thanks again i cant wait to get home and see how these pics have posted for you all, i swear the way they looked on pb was just a craptastic blurry fuzzy mess. i thought, oh man, they are gonna think i'm crazy! so happy they look good for you
  5. usually you can just tell them "cuervo margarita" or "kahlua white russian" or whatever so that is how they know you want top shelf. tips help. i have heard some places actually have different wrist bands for top shelf drinks, but that was a long time ago.
  6. ok so i cant answer for jamaica, but it was 100 the day we got married in cabo, and i didnt wear the bra or underskirt that i used at our big wedding at home, i also snipped out the crinoline lining prior to leaving for mexico. i was SO comfortable this way. it was 75 the day of our home wedding, and i was so stinkin hot all evening, with all that junk on underneath the dress. i had a corset back, so that helped with not having a bra on, i just had it laced tighter in cabo than i did at home.
  7. thanks gals maura, i dont care how tiny your place is (ok actually pretty decent for the middle of DT chi-town) but you better keep your dress there! if you send it to mexico who knows what will happen to it and you will hardly ever get a chance to see it plus, you can always get those things that you put under the corners of your bed to add like 7" of height, and keep it stored under there. thats what i'll do whenever i finally get around to getting it cleaned and stuff. speaking of cleaning it, when we got back to the hotel i hung it over the round table on the balcony to dry out, after it was about 1/2 dry i shook it out and SO much sand came out! YOWZA! i never did rinse it in the shower, kinda forgot oops, but now its hanging on the back of our closet door but it doesnt smell or anything. the sand and salt actually cleaned it, after wearing it 2 times prior it was kinda dirty around the bottom edge, but now its not so bad! and i even rolled it up real tight, like a sleeping bag, and shoved it in my carryon on the way home and it came out fine i am not 100% sure i am going to clean it or preserve it afterall.
  8. late on this, but they are gorgeous! BTW, the only fun part about DIY invites is when you get to tell people you made them yourself and watch the disbelief on their faces its priceless. the rest is all hard work and thats a PITA!

LOL!!! yay thats good to know! i'll have to go look at what i posted when i get home hahaha, work sucks! haha, when scott found out how much some photogs charge, he was like, "hmmmm, maybe being a plumber isnt all its 'cracked' up to be" then he was like no pun intended (yah right, like he never made that joke before!)
  12. wow good, so do they just look crappy from my photobucket? i'm at work and cant actually see the pics i've posted. thanks!!!!
  13. As most of you know Doug and I decided not to go with a pro photog for our Cabo wedding and TTD, it just wasn't in the budget after the BFW. I really really badly wanted to do a TTD session, so we decided to have Doug's Bro and Sis come along with us to Chileno Bay a couple days after the wedding and see what we could come up with. Doug's Bro Scott has a nice, but older, 5 mpix job that has fancy settings (can you tell I know nothing about cameras?) and Doug's Sis Brenda used Doug's new camera we got the week before the wedding, a waterproof Olympus Stylus, I think it has 8 mpix. We got up at the buttcrack of dawn, and started shooting just before 7:30am. Altho these are not pro pics, I am so very happy with what we ended up with! Doing the TTD was the most fun ever, and the perfect way to finish up our week in Cabo. I highly recommend doing a TTD, even if you can't afford a pro, just take someone with you who has a decent camera and just have fun! I'd even venture to say that a couple of these pics actually turned out better than ones we got from our Pro at the BFW! Enjoy! (Disclaimer: these pics look kinda crappy from photobucket, they are much clearer on my computer files. i'm learning Windows Movie Maker so I may post a slideshow later with better pics )
