  1. I was sent a pdf with different cakes you can pick from. They are pretty standard as fas as cakes go, but not too bad of a selection. Standard Cakes06[1].pdf
  2. I got some too. My Target had tons of them. Thanks so much for the tip!
  3. Shea, Thanks so much for this tip, because if they have a list of where everyone is, I can drop it in the OOT bags beforehand and go welcome people personally...asssuming they haven't swapped rooms and I'm welcoming strangers! Did you drop off the OOT personally or have EDR deliver them? I heard they weren't that reliable in getting them to each room.
  4. I have heels and 3.5 inch wedge flip flops. So I should be able to get the dress hemmed at the same length. They have a great selection of wedge flip flops at My Glass Slipper. I heard that they are building a portable wooden walkway that you could use too. I'd be all for getting married barefoot if I wasn't 5'2". I'd need a stepstool to kiss my husband during the ceremony!
  5. ugh. I finally had enough points to download the stamp one and my pc didn't download it but it took away my points anyways.
  6. Thanks so much for the instructions. I think I'm going to try it but not bead the entire amount but just the outline.
  7. Thanks for the links and info. I orderd mine yesterday! I love the beading work and may try to do some while I watch tv. At least that I way I won't feel as guilty about sitting around all night on the couch.
  8. I thought you weren't allowed to bring any outside food or beverage. I never specifically asked though. We will have some down time in between the wedding ceremony and reception. While we do pics I was going to have everyone probably meet up at the Martini Bar. I was thinking of doing a more informal toast there before the reception starts. I believe you can get house wine/champagne at any of the bars but if you want a bottle for private reception you have to pay $$$$.
  9. Thanks for posting. I'm leaning towards Gazebo 55. Valeria mentioned that EDR is in the process of making a portable walkway, so it might enable some of the girls that plan on wearing heals to use gazebos with sand.
  10. Sent you a PM too. I am having 30 guests, so this might work out as my seat cards/favors.
  11. Dessy, the big bridesmaid dress maker, did a line with Sandals: http://www.dessy.com/wedding-dresses/ Also, one of my favs: Winnie Couture Spring 2008 Destination Collection
  12. They look fabulous! When are you sending yours out and asking for a reply? Our weddings are less than a week away and I haven't even started on my invites yet. Now I feel like a total slacker.
  13. I am booking with Valeria my hair in advance. She recommended getting your hair done 4 hrs before the ceremony. I wasn't planning on doing a trial cause I don't think I'm going to get anything too complicated. And I was going to get gel nails before I came down - I got a set before the holidays to test them out. Real gel nails look fantastic as a french manicure. Make sure if you get them to not get a layer of gel over acrylics. Brigopens - your pics are fab. You're wifey looked gorgeous and I loved the TTD pics. Can you find out if she did a hair trial and if they had flowers for her hair in the salon or if she had to preorder them? Thanks!!
  14. Not that I am advocating illegal means, but hypothetically couldn't you get her a fake? I doubt too many Mexican reservation agent can tell an American fake?
  15. I decided to go with silk flowers, that way I can guarantee the bouquet I want and all at a reasonable price. And I was thinking of putting my bouquet in a vase when I get home too. The lady I'm going with makes bouquets that photo so real! I'm doing white calla with the tips soaked in red, red and pink roses and berries:
  16. I thought I read somewhere that EDR is very strict on not allowing any outside food or drinks. So you're forced to use what they have at the events.
  17. Thanks for sharing! We're doing a symbolic ceremony too. All of our wedding dates are so close!
  18. What is everyone doing about their Honeymoon? Are you considering the destination wedding as the honeymoon? Are you staying extra time or upgrading rooms or moving to other Mexican resorts? Or are you going to another location right after? Going home and then somewhere else?
  19. I didn't book a block either since everyone is staying different days and in different categories. I was told by my wedding coordinator at EDR that once you tell them the list of people attending your wedding, that they try to group everyone in rooms close to each other.
  20. You looked absolutely gorgeous! I loved the hair too. I really wanted to do something pulled back but not up and high cause I thought it was very formal. Do you have the picture that you based your hair on too? Do you think it would of been possible to get down the aisle in heels?
  21. I'm confused as to where people would sit? Would you have to "walk down the aisle" from the side and into the gazebo?
  22. Sorry for posting so late, haven't had much time to check this forum! Name: Melanie Wedding Date: May 10, 2008 Ceremony: 5:30 pm (was thinking Casitas, now Presidential...does someone have a pic?) Reception: 7:00 pm (was thinking Gaviotas) private dinner Cocktail Reception: May 9th, 5:30 pm @ Tucanes? Guests: 20-25
  23. Hi everyone! I'm a newbie and am also having my wedding at EDR! I am booked for May 10th. Our plan is ceremony at 5:30 pm and dinner at 7 pm. I didn't realize the Casitas Gazebo could only seat 15, thanks for that info. My original plan was to have the ceremony there then dinner at the Gaviotas location. We were only planning on having about 25 people attend. And we were looking at the Tucanes location for a Friday cocktail reception. For photography, I really do have a friend in the business that is coming down for three nights and going to take my pics for me. So hopefully I shouldn't run into any problems with any extra fees. So glad to have a found other EDR brides!!
