Congrats on your engagement! Do you have any idea where you want to get married? Search around on this forum, there are so many places to go and all at different prices! I'm sure after a little looking around you will find a wonderful place! Congrats and good luck on planning!!

One thing you could do, and a lot of DW brides do, is have a DW with people that can make it and then celebrate when you get home with a big reception, you can make it as elaborate or simple as you want! But in the end, do exactly what you and your FI want to do, don't worry about makeing everyone else happy, because that is never possible! Either way Good Luck!!!!

We were married at the Moon Palace, Cancun and used our iPod - it worked out perfectly we used the sound equipment there, and I had all my songs in order on my playlist - I would contact your WC and let her know this is what you are planning and she will be able to let you know the prices, etc.

I was SO impressed with the bar at our cocktail function, we got the free cocktail hour which we used as our dinner/reception b/c Our wedding was later in the day - there was tons of food by the way, and they set up our own private bar with every kind of liquor you can imagine, honestly I can't remember if it was top shelf, but we had waiters/waitresses going around asking guests if they wanted another drink, as well as 2 bartenders at the little bar the whole time! And it was private, only for my guests!! I was so impressed by that!!! Also, FYI we had no trouble at all at the Cancun airport, there were people there and some asked us if we needed rides,etc, but we just smiled and said "no thanks, we know exactly where we are going" which we did!! Just bring all your transfer docs with you and make sure you KNOW the name of your transfer company so you know which van/car to look for when you get outside the airport!
