Wow I really like this esp since I never found any Iowa brides really when I was planning my wedding back in 2008! So my name is Betsy and we were married at the Moon Palace in Cancun, MX - it was amazing. I can't wait to go back! Hi Shanna - have you picked a palace resort yet? We were married at Moon Palace and LOVED it - it was so amazing - let me know if you have any questions - it was a long time ago but I had so much fun. Awesome another Iowa bride!!

MP does have seaweed on the beach but they also work to get it cleaned up...they do have gazebos right by the beach/ocean for you to get married in, but if you are dreaming of being married on a pristine white sandy beach, then I don't know if you will truly be happy with MP. That being said, I was married at MP and I LOVED it - we were married in the catholic gazebo and the staff/food/EVERYTHING was amazing and beautiful. The horse-drawn carriage was so beautiful and they are very very kid-friendly. Good Luck with your decision!

My heart really does go out to you. What does your husband think/say about everything? I mean at this point I don't honestly know if you could say anything, since MIL obviously doesn't think she did anything wrong. I know I would never ever miss my kids' wedding either, and it is so sad to me to think that some would, but it really is all about you and your husband, so try to focus on how much you love him and your children!! Sorry you have all this hurt inside

I used to watch the hills religiously, but for some reason I stopped watching it last year, and to see this reminds me why. It really is just so sad to me b/c she was just fine before! Wow where did she even get lipo done at? I mean from that pic is says she got it on her hips/thighs/etc but seriously that is just SKIN! Not fat!

Did you do a search for "welcome letter" I did, and a ton of results came up! I would try that first.

I was there 2 years ago, and nobody got sick in my group either. The food was actually good, and they have a huge selection. Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about it, you could get food poisoning ANYWHERE! OMG I loved the room service too soooo good!!!

Such a sad sad story, esp if her husband really did do it . I don't think the MP brides need to be freaked out at all - it sounds like they know who they know who did it and can you imagine how much MORE security they are going to have there now!

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! I was married at the catholic gazebo at the Moon Palace (almost 2 years ago!!) It was so beautiful and they are so nice and helpful there. We actually flew our priest down for the wedding but we did meet with Father Pierre who was the priest at Moon Palace at the time. I don't know if he is still there or not but he was very nice. You still have to do all the things required by the catholic church, and bring your paperwork with you (like pre-cana classes.) I would email Moon Palace and get the exact requirements though, since it may have changed since I was there! You will love it! Congratulations again!

Congrats on your wedding and thanks for the review. I was married at Moon Palace almost 2 years ago and I would go back in a second!! I loved it! It isn't too hard to post pics on here and I'm sure other brides (including myself ) would love to see them also. Do you have a photobucket account set up? If you do it is really easy - also it might help to look through the how to's of BDW threads!!

I don't think it is fair to expect people to come to your wedding in another country and then expect them to find a babysitter for their kids for the reception. Why don't you want kids there?! I would not be comfortable at all leaving my kids with some random person that I don't know, and honestly I probably wouldn't even attend if that was the case. Have you told the parents that you are feeling this way? I would probably compromise on this one also, it's not like kids automatically ruin weddings or something. In fact, in my experience, they usually make it more fun!!

I don't have any fun pics of us on St. Patty's day! But I do have a fun pic of my kiddies last year at the parade so I just used that one!

That is so rude IMO! I think you should wear whatever style dress makes you feel like a bride! The more you try on, the more you will know what style you love! And make sure you take a camera with you!!

You are welcome girls! It was actually very peaceful in the back where they had the wedding stuff set up. With all the trees, fountains, waterfalls, you barely knew you were still in Vegas!
