Thanks for the info, Alin&Mako! Amesharpe, I have only paid for the deposit on my hotel. Althogh my TA told me yesterday we have to go ahead and collect full payment as originally planned or else we won't be covered through Apple Vacations. So we're all paying for our hotel in full this week despite the damn place not even being open! Hopefully we can find out SOMETHING on 10/20- Monday. Hasn't been much new information this week and its driving me nutty!

Alin & Mako, I didn't realize they reached out to you about your guests... what did it say in the communication? Is it precautionary or it sounded like it was likely? So its starting to creep into November...even Nov 1 arrivals... UGH SDTooley, if you can delay another week or so I would - just to see how this settles out. But if this lasts much longer than a week or two, I personally would consider moving. But that's me.

I agree! My TA has been telling me to relax and has full confidence it will be resolved. And my date is 2 days before yours, Laura! She went through apple and told me that she won't run the payments until this is resolved and that Apple agrees with that! If it comes to it, DT would take care of all of those changes and ensure all of the DT rates apply as well. I worry you might not get that if you change it now

well at least everyone will be covered if your guests are being contacted who booked through expedia. I had emailed Landy before I heard about all of this monkey business... Then I replied to my original email and mentioned I heard and asked for any news. She just wrote me back this afternoon. Dear Amy: Thank you very much for your patience and in relation with this problem, we are waiting the hotel open the first week in November, so we are just relocated the arrivals until October 31st. I had asked her about my menu options (since i booked with the old guide we have the option of using anything from either the old guide or the new guide) and if I can create my own ceremony in its entirly (we're doing the symbolic and the answer was yes. Just send the ceremony to her close to the date so the person can practice. English second language and all...)

Great to get another response from that VP, Kevin as well. A lot of the same information but he seems to definitely hear the specifics of our concerns. Glad they're reaching out to you girls regarding your 10/27 and 11/1 wedding, Carina and Mel. Thanks for keeping us posted. It WILL work out. At least they are forward looking by a few weeks - not one week ahead of time!! that's a lot of cramming!

I posted this on the closure webstie but thought I'd put here as well. Ladies! I just got a response!!! I emailed all of those emails that were posted on here a few days ago- the big wigs at AM Resorts. I feel better having heard from him and that they plan to call each of us individually. Sounds like it is out of their control- delicate situation with the gov't and legal stuff. Also sounds like they may be moving all Oct weddings... see below That guy, kevin, wrote me this: Dear Ms. BXXXX, We completely understand and appreciate your anxiety to be quite honest. Please be assured that we are not trying to keep information from you or any of the other wonderful brides that have planned their special day at Dreams Tulum. The situation is extremely delicate and tense at the same time. It is not at all easy to say when it will be resolved since it is a legal matter and in the hands of the court system. Our legal team is working extremely hard to resolve the matter expeditiously and just yesterday we were informed the situation can be resolved prior to the end of October. This is positive news to be sure but we are still taking the decision to protect and move all new arrivals straight through the end of this month. This decision was taken today at noon. We realize this is challenging to hear and we feel terrible that you and all our other brides are "worried sick". We will be calling each and every bride that is planning their wedding in 2008 in order to discuss the situation with them personally and give them a better comfort level. We, of course, do not wish for you to have any greater anxiety than already exists. Even though we are confident that this will be resolved as indicated, we want to assure you that we will of course protect your wedding, rates and guests at one of our Dreams or Secrets Resorts in Cancun/Riviera Maya or will protect you in another resort of equal or better quality. Once again we regret that you have been caused this anxiety and hope to have the entire situation resolved as indicated above. Thank you very much for your understanding.
