  1. OMG.. I just got a new dress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sooooooooo happy!! They're going to take my old dress & veil back and just charged me the difference. I'm still on a "dress high" right now. I went there without my dress on purpose so that I'd "just look". I told the girl how I wanted it to look.. she goes,"There's a bride with a new dress on..go check her out." I said,"OMG, I wanna try that on!" She looked gorgeous in it so I needed to see for myself. AMAZING dress.. I didn't wanna take it off. It's actually a "floor dress" I believe they called it. She said it's not online or in their magazines and only a few stores carry it. If it sells well, then they make more. The bride trying it on got it and I got it. I forgot my camera so I don't have pics but I need to go back with my old dress on Monday so I'll take pics then.
  2. I just called David's Bridal and I got an appointment tonight at 7:30pm! I'm not taking my dress with me so I actually have time to think..

This was taken by Jeff last month in our backyard. I can't believe we had that much snow still! Thats an amazing shot of him! So cute

I don't mind trying on more dresses there.. but this time it'll just be me and my mom..no distractions.

I didn't get mine off the rack, it had to be ordered. I don't remember if it was on sale but I remember a sale going on

  8. Does anyone know if you can get a refund for your dress? I can't find anything on their site about it. I've decided to return it. Yes, I love my dress.. and when I tried it on I felt it was the one. But I also felt pressured to choose something that night (my first time dress shopping as well) I had gone dress shopping back in November bc my FMIL was in town.. a bunch of my family members came and although they didn't pressure me to choose, I felt I should have. I've been going back and forth with this idea to return my dress. It even got to the point that when David's Bridal ordered the wrong dress I was hoping they would tell me that mine was no longer available So I called my mom for her opinion.. shes my best friend so I needed her approval and tell me it's ok to keep looking. So back to square one and I couldn't be more happy! hahahaha

Your guests will really appreciate that! It's also one of my BMs birthday so I can do a lil something for her at my wedding
  15. I went back the next day to tell the TA we'd switch, and she priced out everything. It was actually $500 cheaper!
  16. I have really been on top of the whole travel agent thing.. even going to Liberty Travel 2x just HOPING they'd have prices out. Well last week I just happened to go into the Liberty Travel in my mall and what came next... UGHHHH! The TA was brutally honest and said to switch my wedding date from the weekend of 2/14 because it's one of the most heavily traveled weekends all year. I knew it'd be bad but not this bad. She said if I want to make sure people will make it, I'd have to book their flights ASAP (within the week). Mind you I just recently sent out the last of my STDs and planning on starting my invites in 2-3 months or so. She said that the flights will be booking super early. I nearly had a panic attack sitting in front of her lol She gave me the numbers to all of the airlines but it still wouldn't guarantee anything. She also priced out that weekend and flights alone from NY/NJ were $1000. So...................... I'm now getting married on February 28, 2009.. two weeks later. After talking to my WC she reassured me it was ok to switch. The other very important person was Jean-Marcus (my photog) and he was so great and understanding and lucky for me, he'll be down there already shooting a wedding the week before mine! My DJ (Carlos from Mannia) was also able to switch for me without a problem. Everything's now coming together. I feel relieved but for a few days I thought I was gonna have a heart attack lol
  17. I can't wait to see how your pics come out. It's such a beautiful resort!
  18. OMG I'm dying laughing! My friend just told me that in Finland they have Wife Carrying contests.. and he sent me a link. What will they think of next? YouTube - Wife Carrying Championships
  19. At least you have all of us other girls to help you along the way
  20. Maura, it's not fair that she's talking to you like this. She's your sister and should support you and your decision to have your wedding wherever you want. I'm sure you'd be there for her as well. Maybe you can have another talk with her not on IM and really see where things are going to end up. If she doesn't want to be in your wedding, get it taken care of now then last minute.
