Then this one came and it was a larger card and he liked it. It was funny; after he chose it I reminded him that 4 months ago he hated it. I'm just glad it's off my plate! Now I can relax some. We are doing pretty good on everything else for now!

Here's ours as of right now - they are going to be program fans. I am printing them out on ivory card stock with the front that has a pearl border. (Got these at Office Depot) Folding them in half and adding a fancy stick on the bottom with a sheer blue bow on the handle. I have a test one done, I'll have to take a pic and post it. ~Celina Program Fan - Feb 29.doc

I am a hand written thank you card giver! I even make my kids write thank you cards. There is nothing worse than a thank you letter that is type written and not signed. In my opinion, why write it??

Matron/Maid of honor Dilema
Celina replied to Bavaro-Princess's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Okay...I'm going to sound dumb here, but what is the difference between a MOH and a MTOH? I thought the difference was if they were married...am I wrong? -
I am doing a poem on the back of the program in memory of my mom and my FI's dad. I am not mentioning or listing either of our living parents names anywhere - not even on the invites. Our invites will read "Please join family and friends for the wedding celebration of...." It was just too hard. My dad has had two wives since my mom passed and my FI's mom has remarried as well. My thoughts are remember them because they are our parents, but I don't want to offend the new spouses, so in our case; less is more. Good luck!

Lately it has been "Ka-Chiga" I have watched the movie "Cars" so many times, (thanks to my 2 year old son) that instead of saying "Yay - good job" (or something to that effect) - we say "Ka-Chiga"

Yay!! Another March birthday! (Mine was yesterday) Have a great birthday!

Oh Morgan, I'm sorry to hear that! Isnt that the worst feeling? You just want to smack them and say "GET A FREAKIN JOB!!" Hopefully you can get your stuff replaced soon!

Thanks guys! Thanks for thinking of me as I turn one more year closer to 40! AAAHHHHH! OMG I told Shawn this morning, I never dreamed I would be pushing 40 when I got married! I told him I should have married him the first time he asked me...15 years ago. I like to learn the hard way! No really, thanks girls. You all made my day. Considering neither one of my sisters have called me, reading this post made my day! I'm logging off for today. My daughter wants me to take her to the store....to buy me a birthday cake. I am truly blessed! Love you all! Celina

Invitations too early???
Celina replied to quackquack's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
We sent out a STD informational letter with the name of the resort, travel agent, passport info (just a link to the passport information website) and the cost of rates for this year with a note that these are this years rates and they will be slightly higher next year - just to give them an idea of what to expect for a 5 and 7 day trip. Good luck and congratulations! -
Happy St, Patty's day!!!! What's everyone doing St. Patrick's Day??
Celina replied to MsShelley's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
Oohh! I am green with envy for you all! Since my b-day is tomorrow we are having corned beef & cabbage. I'm not sure what we are doing the rest of the day. We usually go to the St. Patty's parade but this year I wasn't feeling it. My FI's family is coming over for Easter Dinner so I have been cleaning like a madwoman today. Monday I am working but we are having a "Celebrate the Green" luncheon. I work in a firehouse and our firetrucks are all green (Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting Trucks). We are getting a new one and are showing it off on Monday. My FI is a bartender, so he'll be busy for sure! Hopefully good tips! Remember folks...tip your bartender and servers! -
I'm glad someone brought this one up cause I didnt know either!! LOL!

wedding planner gifts
Celina replied to Otis1230's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I am giving my WC an OOT bag with stuff specifically from where we are from (not the stuff we are giving to guests) and a nice card. We'll see how it all goes and will consider a cash tip...we'll have to wait and see on that. -
Thank you all SO much for giving me some direction with this! I didn't get a chance to read this till this morning and OMG I laughed so loud that I woke my son up! I agree I would NEVER outright ask for cash, ask for people to buy a ticket to come to our wedding (My God - they are paying so much to come anyway) or insert a BBB card in my invite. My dad's wife's son had "money tree" on their invitations and I thought that was the tackiest and most classless thing ever! Tacky Junior - you just keep them DIY projects coming honey! We love you! You are such a good sport! Maybe you can post some directions on how to make origami doves with all of our BBB inserts! I am off to Bed Bath and Beyond to register! Thanks guys!

My FI and I have everything. I guess there are some new things we could use, but honestly would prefer to get cash as gifts instead. Is there a polite way to ask for cash? Someone asked my FI the other day where we were registered and he didn't know what to say. If people want to give us gifts I am not saying no....HELLO...who couldn't use new sheets or new pots and pans?? Although I would just prefer cash! Don't know what to do!

Would you wear this BM dress?
Celina replied to nikkianddean's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I love the color - but not the price tag. Sorry! -
Okay Morgan...I'm jumping on your DIY cup bandwagon. My FI said I have already done too much - but I don't care! I want cups! Now...are there any special kinds of rub ons? I have three coupons for Michaels for 40% off and I am determined to make these cups! What kind of pen is it? Just a permanent marker? Won't it scratch off of the plastic?

That sounds like a really cute original idea and would be a fun girls night. Please share!! I initially was going to order flip flops from floppyjoes.com but after looking at them and showing them to my FI's aunt, she was like - that is so easy! So after looking at the designs of the flip flops on floppyjoes, I went to Michaels and picked up some flowers and ribbons, etc and we'll just glue them on! The flip flops were 2 for $5 at Old Navy so for probably less than $10 a pair everyone has their own unique shoes to wear!

The dresses look very forgiving, so we'll see when they get here! I ordered them this past Monday.
