Weather and $$ in PV
Celina replied to MaryS's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
You have to go before the high season which is in December. We are getting married in November and from what I've heard the weather is pretty decent at 80 something degrees. We went last November for our site visit and the weather was warm but not too hot. We went with an AI and our rates from Denver arriving Friday departing Monday are almost $800 roundtrip airfare and lodging with transfers and taxes included. -

This ALWAYS happens with me. I totally space it out. I tell my daughter to try again or leave a note the next time...maybe the tooth fairy was busy and I make up some kind of story.

White veil with ivory dress?
Celina replied to aeroo's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I agree with Ticia - go with ivory veil and ivory dress. It doesn't look right. I tried on some white veils with my ivory dress and it didn't match well. -

YES - I love this idea. There are tons of stuff on line for sugar skulls. I think Corey (coreyphil) did some great bags that had the Catrinas on them. Congrats! I get married a week after you!

Every year I do an Easter basket for the kids and my FI. I need some ideas on what to put in his basket. Last year I put golf balls, his fav candy bar, some lotto tickets. I am out of ideas! Help!

I emailed the M&M people from their website and asked if I bought the M&M's now could I save them until November in their original unopened package. Their response: Hello, Thank you for your email. The M&M's will be fine in November. Have a great wedding day! Regards Customer Care YAY! I actually went and bought like 7 bags of the light blue M&M's that are on sale for Easter. They were 1/2 of the price on the M&M website! No need to freeze!! Woo Hoo!

Outside Vendors Shut Out of RIU?
Celina replied to Bradley Fraser's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
I am getting married at RIU Vallarta and was told that we could not have outside vendors. The cost for mariachi's for 45 minutes is $650 so I wanted to look around for a cheaper mariach and they told me that it was not allowed. They really haven't told me anything regarding the cake. They gave me the name of 1 vendor that they work with. Otherwise their baker can "try" to make it work. I think if I brought something in they wouldn't care. As far as photography, they have a contract with someone, so I didn't look elsewhere. As far as flowers I am only buying a few for reception tables (from Sam's or a florist there) and the WC knows and didn't seem to have a problem with it. However, we ARE buying the majority of the flowers from them. Their day passes are $100 full day and $60 half day. -
Why do they have to act like that? AArrrhhhh! I am so mad for you! I would be pissed too!

My daughter will look at me and go "Mom - are you going to cry again?" And she says it with that pre-teen disgust in her voice. (imagine eyes rolling) I told her to not even ask anymore and quit trying to make me feel guilty because she is a bigger cry baby than me! We went to a friends wedding and she cried the entire time! -

Hes so strange and annoying. I am cracking up! That is hillarious! My FI and dad DO NOT hang out. Our parents are total polar opposites. I wish they would get along, but my dad is very uptight and has a tendency to see the glass as half empty and can be very negative. My FI is totally opposite. On the rare ocassion after my dad has a couple of beers, he usually loosens up. My FI tolerates my dad because he is my dad. Plus my dad's wife is SO intimidated by my FI's mom. It is so funny to me. My FI's mom is a hoot! She rides Harley's on the weekend and goes to motorcycle rally's and is totally always down for a good time. Our kids worship her and her husband. We don't even live in the same state and I talk to them at least twice a week. My dad and his wife live in the same city and us and our kids haven't seen or spoke to them since Christmas. I know....sad but true!

Heidi, I feel your pain! My daughter has natrually curly hair and in the humidity it only got kinkier and tighter. I'm sure there is a product that you can use to give your curls more shape and definition. Maybe a pomade or something that will weigh down the curls or something so they aren't so tight. Have you checked with any local salons? I also wouldn't use the diffuser because sometimes that will even add more frizz with naturally curly hair. I suggest letting it air dry after you put the product on. I'm not too sure either but that is all I can think of. With my daughter's hair for the wedding I think I am going to do a headband of roses or something just so her hair is off her face and just let the natural curls fall in the back. Let us know what you find out.

Does anyone else hear their first dance song and cry or am I the only one?? OMG the past two times I have heard it I can't control the waterworks! I was just driving in to work and our song came on and of course I couldn't get out of the car until it was over but when I did get out makeup was RUINED!! I had makeup all running down my face. I had to run into the bathroom and re do it. Thank God for big sunglasses!

Is it the dress? What about it don't you like? 65 lbs is a lot to lose and you should feel proud of yourself! Did you put a veil on or any acessories? I thought my dress was not that great (although it was the one I always dreamed of because it is short) - until I put on the veil. Maybe some acessories will help.

Another Denver bride! YAY!! Although my FI and I discussed it and looked at some great places for receptions here locally; he always dreamed of getting married on the beach. We were undecided until we had a BBQ last 4th of July and I realized that no matter what I do, my dad's family would never come to anything I hosted. I was so irritated and pissed after realizing that my dad's family would only come if free food and alcohol were provided. I asked all of the guests at our BBQ that day if we got married in PV if they would come and they all said if given enough notice - YES! So right then and there I decided for us that we would get married in PV. My FI was happily surprised with the decision. We went on our site visit 4 months later and picked our hotel and here we are today posting all our plans on BDW!!
