  1. Thanks again for sharing the pics Helen! If you don't mind me asking, how many were in your group? I think we're going to do our reception dinner at the Flamingo, just on the upper level. Did I get it right that you said that the cake wasn't that good? I am SO stressed about this and I know I shouldn't be. I think we are going to take a gamble and just go with it. We are going to order a 3 tier cake if they offer one. If they showed Katie a three tiered cake, then they should still have that option when we get there. I am going to take a cake pedestal with us and call it done as far as the cake goes and whatever happens....happens!
  2. Good for you - sounds beautiful - can't wait to see the pics!
  3. I was out on Friday and my computer at home sucks - so I have lots to add! Quote: Originally Posted by Chiquita Your bags look fantastic!!! The guests will love them DITTO! If you do the plastic cups with stickers they would have to be fairly large and I'd be worried about the stickers coming off when they get wet maybe? I ended up buying some cups over the weekend at Wal Mart. They had hot pink and blue. I bought some rub ons and a paint pen. HOWEVER - the paint pen I used to write names on the cups doesn't work. You can scratch the paint right off. I may end up rubbing all the paint off and getting rub on letters for the names. I may just do an initial unless I find another pen. My FI picked out his ring a few weeks ago, but I can't remember exactly what it looks like. I will post a pic once we get it. Here is a pic of my e-ring. Your ring is beautiful!! Congrats on finding his. We still have to get our bands. Quote: Originally Posted by DanielleNDerek steph -i saw the oot bags you got from target on another thread, i love those bags. I wish i would of seen these bags a month ago! well girls i managed to buy a couple of things this weekend. i got my bm shoes. they're just flip flops from kohls. i bought the ribbon i'm going to use for the pashminas. And since the folders i wanted for my invitations got messed up, i found a replacement and ordered them along with matching envelopes. three day weekend, so hopefully i can get a lot done this weekend. I cannot find raffia ribbon at any store near me, has anyone see it? At Target, they had some big straw bags on clearance. They were white and they had some white straw floppy hats (not on clearance). I am not much of a hat wearer I usually wear my hair up, but my daughter said I looked so cute with the hat on. The bags were cute too! They were straw-ish and had a silver thread in them. Very CUTE! So if you are looking for cute stuff - Target is the place to be! I have seen spools of raffia at Party City near the balloon ribbon. It isn't actual straw, but a plastic type of material that looks like raffia, just not straw. I bought some last year to tie around silverware roll ups for a bbq.
  4. Cute! Suggestion...to keep them all the same, make sure to take off the doggie harnes in "tres". Uno is my favorite

I seriously was going to call in today, but I have to go in public sometime! I have some events coming up, like a friends bridal shower that I am hosting in 2 weeks and then in her wedding 2 weeks after that. She is going to hate me when I make her pictures look like crap. Okay, I am probably being a drama queen, but seriously....I took pictures a little while ago that I will post when I get home. It's so UNEVEN in the back. You guys, I just wanna cry. I have the Jessica Simpson extensions, but they are the long curly ones but it will be really obvious that they are extensions, AND they wont even stay in because it is so short in the back. BOOOOOOOOOO. Okay, that's then end of my drama queen rant. For now. Alright Chickie - let's see the pics. I hate having a bad haircut! I'm sure there is something we can do to help. The prenatals will definitely help. Have you tried Nioxin? I wonder if you can use it while you are pregnant.
  6. OMG - I saw this thread the other day and missed it - I am SO sorry about this, but I can't help but laugh! First of all, like you I never take a lunch either so I can totally relate. Then to FINALLY venture out after 4 years to have this happen is total BS! Hopefully things will work out in court. Since you are contesting isn't he going to be there? I would find some funny way to tell the officer what an ass he was.
  7. I'm chiming in on this one kind of late as I read you may have your mind set...but wanted to add my thoughts... Quote: Originally Posted by cmmdee Make sure one thing you look into at the resort you choose is how much they charge for the day/night pass for each individual not staying at the resort. One was charging $100 per person staying at diff hotel. She is right on this one, we are paying $100 per day for day passes and $60 per person for half day passes. SO if you plan on hanging out with your guests and you are staying at an AI and they aren't - this may be a monkey wrench in your plans. Quote: Originally Posted by deznchris2006 For a double, our guests are paying $452 per night (all taxes and gratuities included)...It's an AI and I believe it's 4 or 5 star. Right now, they can get airfair for about $450 each (roundtrip, also including all taxes and fees). We've had people complain it's expensive, we just smile and say that we understand if people can't afford to come and that we would love for everyone to be there, but we really do understand. There are a couple of reason we choose this resort, one being that we've stayed in the chain before and had an AMAZING time and since having a DW is basically planning a vacation for everyone who comes, we didn't want to risk it with a resort we've never been to. Usually, when people complain about the price we tell them everyting that is in cluded and they are usually impressed...ALL food, Drinks (including liquor), taxes, gratuities and even some excursions if you stay 3 or more nights. Anyway, choose a place you love, people will complain no matter what! She's right - once people hear that the price is airfare, lodging, meals and drinks - including alcohol - they are usually fine and happy with the price. It's hard to justify that each person would eat & drink $100 worth of food make it equal. But an AI just seems so fun and relaxing. UGHH! It is easy to eat and drink $100 per day. We paid $50 for 2 hot dogs, a chicken sandwich, water and diet coke - BEFORE we checked into our hotel! Water can be expensive at non-AI hotels, as can coffee. AI's just seem so much easier as there is usually something for everyone. SO many choices! Good luck with your planning!
  8. Hi Edna, You will look beautiful! Get yourself some rest, drink plenty of water and take it easy! Glad to hear you are up and around - just don't push yourself! ~Celina
  9. Best wishes and congratulations on your special day! Can't wait to see the pics!

  11. Okay - at first, my reaction was no - but in your case Abbie - I say go for it! BFW - cracked me up! Fortunately my dress is short - so I don't have to worry about lugging around a big ol heavy dress! Anyhow - I say wear that new dress and rock it girl!

Since they aren't doing any flowers - I say go for whatever makes ya feel good! With our OOT bags, I ordered 1 per couple and one per single. I ordered about 10 extra for those who haven't committed. If we have left overs, I'll give one to my sis who couldn't make it, or my grandma who couldn't make it. Guess what.........I just ordered a butt load of stuff! I got an OT order in for maraca pens and kids b-day stuff, I ordered my blumeboxes, and I ordered my teal ribbon! YAY - once everything comes in I can start on my DIY projects. Phewww...what a load off! No more spending money for me! Alls I have to do it send my program order to Kinko's and I'll be good for now. I think I'll do that tomorrow since I took the day off! I'm logging off for now so I can get some work done before I get fired!
  13. I finally found teal ribbon! $1.99 for 25 yards - plus their shipping wasn't insane like a lot of places! This site has them and every other color! Crafta.com. Crafts, Silk Flowers, Ribbons & Special Occasions. They also have some other wedding stuff too. It's probably faster to order on-line. I called and the lady took FOREVER!! Anyhow - I found my ribbon and now I'm happy!
  14. Okay - so the past few months I have noticed this line getting deeper and deeper right between my eyebrows. Does anyone have any suggestions for something to help out before it gets any worse?
  15. Chiquita Bananna ! HA Ha Ha! That is hillarious! Colored flowers may add some pop! I'm not sure. I'm doing flowers in the hair and a veil! Are your BM's having flowers in their hair too? Maybe you should go white...afterall, you ARE the Bride!
  16. I agree with the others that it looks YUMM-O! Also, I would suggest to space it out more and maybe use a basket for the little envelope type things (Pop rocks and Marg. Mixes)
  17. Wow - I am so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine how you feel. I agree that you should take some time out from wedding plans to moun your father. This is one of the most difficult times in your life. When you are ready to start planning again, we will be here for you. Always know that your father will be by your side in spirit. Always - on the good days and bad days. You know in your heart that he was happy for you.

The thing that is holding me back is that people have to keep washing their cups out. THEN - I was thinking of buying some plastic throw away cups (think the Solo brand cups that are red and blue) - I saw some that size at Sam's club that were teal/aqua colored - and I could just put the waterbottle stickers on them with our names and date instead and give each couple who stays at RIU a couple of those to use. What do you think? David's Bridal - Bridal Gowns T8612 Satin A-line with lace embroidered cap sleeves, side draping, beaded metallic embroidery on bodice Sorry it is a link all. Or just go to Davids Bridal website and it is style # T8612 Okay Steph - your dress is beautiful! I LOVE it! Are you wearing a veil? When I looked at it, I thought my veil would match your dress perfectly! I am getting it at David's Bridal. It's style 689. It has an embroidered edge. I tried to have Ocean Easy do a replica and they couldnt, so I'm stuck paying the Davids Bridal price. It wasn't until I put that veil on that I felt like a bride so I'm sticking with it! Needless to say, your dress is beautiful! Great choice!

I know my mom's aunt asked where I was registered and told all of that side of the family. And a few friends found the info on the website. I know - I didn't want to add a little card to the invites either. The last time we went down that road it turned into an origami dove discussion and I don't want to go there again! LOL!

  21. Okay - since we all agree that it's rude to flat out ask for money - this is what we've decided to do. I work with a guy who owns a tile and granite business. They specialize in tilework and granite countertops, kitchen remodels, etc. We are going to have them come over and give us an estimate to tile our kitchen, laundry, powder bath, two bathrooms and possible granite countertops. They are going to start a registry account for us. So people can donate to our fund there instead of getting us the crystal vases, etc. Our hope is to have them complete the work while we are out getting married. When we get back, viola!~ new kitchen and bathrooms! SO - my question is - how do I let people know about this? Is it tacky to put a card that says we are registered there? How do we do this in a not-so-tacky way?
