  1. Honestly, I think they were fighting an uphill battle from day one. Kate has a strong personality and Jon is passive. Eventually they could have gotten to this point with or without kids - just because of their different personalities. How old were they when they had Maddie and Kara? Mid to late twenties? That's early (in my opinion) to have two kids. At 37 I'm still trying to figure out how to communicate to my husband. Tack on six more babies by the age of 32 and HOLY COW you really have a mess on your hands! What TLC should have done was make sure there was some relationship counseling/parenting help for them both during this whole process. It's sad cause it could have worked, but they really were in for it! The counseling could have kept Kate grounded and could have helped Jon find his voice. That would have been more informative to watch. Now all they are showing like someone else said, is them going on different trips and celebrities. They get all this special treatment because of the show and all we get to see is Kate freaking out and the kids having meltdowns while Jon just stands by numbed out to the whole thing. I guess that is what makes television work though! Hopefully the kids come through on this one. Things are only going to get crazier for them.
  2. I think the majority of us have walked down this road. Stick to your guns. Have your DW and if an AHR is in your budget, have one. Hopefully people will understand. Good luck!
  3. I agree with Savannah - welcome back!!
  4. It worked for me! I'm certain it will work for you! No one wants that headache on their wedding/honeymoon! Good luck!

  7. Hi Ladies, I haven't been on here in forever and want to congratulate everyone on their weddings! Ava's pics are great! I love your colors! You were such a beautiful bride!
  8. Beautifulbridetobe - I think it is awesome that you stood with your mom the night before the wedding! What a wonderful memory to have
  9. Gosh Ann, I am just catching up on this. What an exciting opportunity! I hope you guys find a great place. Wouldn't it be adorable if Gwen had a little English accent? Change is hard, but you only live once! Do it while you can!
  10. Awesome and congratulations to Amir! Wonderful news!
  11. Oh my goodness...I am in love with that lace...goregous! Great choice for a dress!
  12. Oh...about OOT bags. We too spread out the stuff with our bridal party. We handed out the bags when everyone got there. Also, someone mentioned they were going to give out little beach photo books. I did those too but then kicked myself because after the wedding I had some great pics and thought it would have been a good idea to have given the guests the photobooks with pics in them and they could add their own to it as well. Just a thought!
  13. Ali...OMG...CRAZY!! I left lots of wedding wishes for all of you girls! Enjoy yourselves! Yes Mel...I agree with the title change.
  14. DH and I just returned from our 6month mini-anniversary vaca at the RIU Vallarta. We left the day before they were closing the hotel. We were told they were closing down for a month. I tried to get into the nightclub to take pics and the first time I went down DH and I looked around but didn't have our camera. The second time we went down it was closed. I saw Jessica in passing once but tried to get in touch with her the day before we left and they said she was already at the RIU Palace and I couldn't reach her. I was going to try to get some FAQ answered since she was the new one in charge. As far as a bus into Bucerias - it should cost you at the most $10 one way for a van for 7 people. The taxi's are $7 for 4 people (or however many you can squeeze into a small car). The valets will get them for you. We had several van's for our rehearsal dinner. We just paid for them all as they got there. I would go this route as it isn't a long ride and you would probably save more money that way. If I can help with any questions please let me know.
  15. Honestly, you have over a year to keep planning. I would keep an eye out for a resort that may be less expensive. This is a hard one. You only get married once and I'm sure it would be a lifelong regret to not have your dad walk you down the aisle. I understand your thought about kids and all, but also, you have to keep in mind that people who go to DW's are on vacation also. If I was invited to a DW and there weren't kids allowed I wouldn't go. If you don't change locations, it would definitely cause a rift. I hope you find an easy solution. This is a tough one! Good luck - I hope it works out.
  16. Okay Abs...so I've been reading this whole thread and it sounds like you and Doug had a fabulous time! The sunrise picture gave me the biggest lump in my throat and I got all teary eyed! Definitely on our list of places to see! Great review!
  17. Have you tried Oriental Trading? They have lots of stuff that is really inexpensive.
  18. Kathy...OMG Girl, you look incredible! I LOVE your book! These pics are great - yes your FI is going to flip! Very sexy, she did a great job! I love the last pic in the pink where you aren't even looking at the camera..congrats!
  19. Give it some time. I know it hurts and Smom's aren't always seeing the importance of it for you and your dad. Talk to him by himself, it will all work out. My dad said no at first too and in the end he walked me down the aisle and can now be a spokesperson for Puerto Vallarta!
