Your hair looks great Christa! The color is fantastic and totally worth the extra $, especially if it makes you feel good! You look confident and ready to take charge (and if I may say so, the cut and color also make you look very young!) I'm getting my hair highlighted for the first time EVER on Dec. 5 which I'm very nervous about... hope mine turns out as cute as yours!

Thanks for the info girls! Makes me feel better about having an August wedding! We're going to include sunscreen in our OOT bags, and hopefully have the ceremony around 6:30 pm to avoid the heat a little (plus the church is not air conditioned... but it was so beautiful when I saw it I didn't care). We're from Chicago and the average temperature during August is actually about the same and up to 10 degrees hotter here than in Cabo in August, so I feel like the only thing I'll need to worry about is a little rain. Is anybody else planning on an outdoor reception? Do you have a contingency plan in case of rain? I need to ask my WC about that...

morgan, can you post a pic of your ring? ive never heard of tulipset before and i cant picture what you described. glad you got it fixed though! and yeah, i think you should still insure it. it might be appraised at more than what you paid for it, so if it got stolen or lost the insurance co would pay you the appraisal price...

Dear stepmom, Why do you have to be the only person (out of family AND friends) opposed to my DW? Seriously? You think it's too expensive? You arent even paying for my wedding, so what entitles you to bitch about the location we chose as a couple to celebrate OUR special day and bring our families (from two different countries) together for an unforgettable vacation? We only told you about our idea to do a DW before getting engaged as a courtesy, NOT so you could give us your input on where YOU think it should be! (wow...that felt great to get off my chest, thanks for listening!)

Also---if you haven't done this, you should call around to a few jewelers and ask for a quote. It's not terribly complicated for them to do if you give them all the info over the phone. Your stone should not move at all, get that sucker fixed!

are you having any kind of theme or will be be an anything goes type hors d's? my mom is throwing our AHR (passed hors d's and champagne) and she's planning on doing DIY hor d's because she's an awesome cook. i'd be happy to share some of her best recipes if you PM me your email address. but it would be good to post on here if you want a theme or anything so people can come up with creative ideas

anybody want to post wording they used explaining to guests about sending you a postcard back? when i explained the idea to my best friend she was like "dont you think that's kinda pushy to ask them to send you a postcard?" hmph.
