We ordered it from an online store so I wonder if I can just take it into another jeweler to have it tightened. I don't think I will have time for atleast 2 weeks. Should I stop wearing the ring until it's tighter? Morgan, is your ring insured just in case? You should have that looked at and tightened immediately, and if it's not already insured, get it insured ASAP.
A friend of mine had the misfortune of having her diamond fall out of the prongs and it was lost and gone forever about 6 weeks prior to her wedding this past July. If they hadn't had it insured they would've had to buy a whole new diamond... lucky for her she got it insured immediately after getting engaged and the insurance company gave them the money within 2 weeks, so she got her engagement ring back with a new diamond about 10 days before the wedding.
Also---if you haven't done this, you should call around to a few jewelers and ask for a quote. It's not terribly complicated for them to do if you give them all the info over the phone. Your stone should not move at all, get that sucker fixed!
