So... long story short... I had chosen this dress from an internet retailer that makes them inexpensively. Now I am starting to get nervous about what if it arrives and I hate it. I guess then I'm only out $200. I have to order it soon so if it comes and I dont like it, then I have enough time to buy something else/have one made. But I'm also considering having my dress made by a seamstress from the photo. This would cost around $800-900. Can anybody help me figure out who the designer is so that I can maybe see more photos of the dress so I can decide? Anybody wanna give me some advice about what they would do... because now I am second guessing my original decision to get it on the internet. TIA!

are you dead set on the date? you might want to try aug 9th. where've you been contacting WCs? do you have your choices narrowed down?

you're getting married at the Westin Los Cabos right? So am I, so I can serve as a bit of an authority. YES you ABSOLUTELY can bring all your own vendors (except for food I believe). I am obsessive about photography, so I booked my photographer first after confirming my date with the Westin- Bradley Fraser. One thing I will warn you about is that the Westin will try to screw you by charging fees for bringing your own vendors. There is a small fee for the unions that they can charge, but they sent a BIG fee on our contract and my FMIL refused to pay it so they backed off. They will also charge you a corking fee if you wish to bring your own alcohol, which we are, but we aren't paying the fee because FMIL fought that one too. As long as you really bitch about it and tell them no, they seem to back off on the extra fees. We arent getting married on the beach and havent chosen a DJ yet, so I can't help you with the sound system. My wedding is in August so I'm eager to get stuff pinned down there too. Send me a PM and we can exchange email addresses and I will give you all the info that I have!

how cute! first few times i tried on veils because my stepmom and one of my two best friends made me, i freaked. so i'm pretty sure a veil is def. not for me. i should get my sister (MOH) to go out looking for one when my dress comes in, she's definitely the more fashionable of the two of us and she always knows what will look good on me before i do. as a side note, rebecca, you're my BDW twin! what do you have done so far?

i was in a wedding that all the out of town guests were invited to the rehearsal dinner, but not the actual rehearsal. the schedule had the rehearsal (wedding party only) and rehearsal dinner (all out of town guests welcome) on it so there was no confusion.

in addition to varying your exercise so youre not doing the same stuff all the time, try cutting your salt intake (will help reduce water retention), quit drinking pop and sugary juices (i switched to seltzer water with a splash of pomegranate juice), and also remember to take into account where your wedding day falls in your monthly cycle. i personally bloat about 10 days prior to my period by about 5-7 pounds. if you can have your dress altered out a bit, it would probably be better for your peace of mind to do it rather than stress too much about it not zipping.

Stephanie, this is totally nutty. I would urge you and your siblings to immediately get a background check or P.I. on this guy to find out his deal. Obviously your mom is not thinking clearly. Hopefully you or your siblings can try to get her to hold out a little longer to wait until after your wedding at least. If she does get married before your wedding anyway... and you were already having second thoughts about inviting him... I'd tell your mom that she's invited but her husband is not, but that's just me. This totally creeps me out and I'll be keeping you in my thoughts. Let us know how we can help.

my wedding is aug 9th. we are sending out STDs in 3 weeks (the 6 month mark) with a prelim. rsvp to our website within 3 weeks from the day they receive them. our invites will likely go out either very end of april or very early may, with a june 1 RSVP date so we can get a final headcount, and give the few stragglers an additional 2 weeks to get their crap together and book the room and whatnot. our final date for booking the rooms is actually july 9th, but we sure as hell arent telling our guests that!
