There are reports on CNN and BBC that the wine flu numbers are decreasing and Mexico lowered its threat level. Yay!!! Plus my friend's friends just got back from Cancun this past Saturday and said it was fine. Nothing was going on there and hotels are very cautious & have things under control.

We are attending a wedding in Marival Resort & Suites Nuevo Vallarta in July '09. Can't wait!!

I'm so sorry about all this!! I hope the vendors at least made the cancellation process easier on this difficult situation. Are you still going ahead with the wedding ceremony? I hope so!! The most important thing is celebrating the love you two share. Even if no one else is there, you can always have another party another day. Try to make the most out of the tough situation. We also took care of the legal part before we went to Cancun. We kept it a secret though, only immediate family knew. We had a symbolic ceremony (and sand ceremony) in Cancun that was really special and emotional.

Hi Bellame00 - My package info was pricing from 2007, I think Le Meridien changed their menus for 2008. In 2007 they had buffet option which I think they no longer offer now. For the most part, timing was fairly strict. The wedding had to end by 11pm if it was outdoors. The day after our wedding we saw another wedding that had their reception indoors and going on until 2-3am. They were fairly open about bringing alcohol from outside area and using other vendors. I used their florist, music and minister, but brought my own photographer. I worked with Jessica and she's really great. They did offer me a group rate but around April/May time frame I found a sale on Expedia that was cheaper than what they offerred so none of my guests used the hotel group rates.
