  1. I agree- we didn't do a group rate- my guests were able to find really good deals online-....
  2. OMG-those are soo good!! And how much fun to have your ex-roomie shoot them! those rock!
  3. I think that would be totally cool---- DW is all about breaking the "rules" anyway-- so go for it!!
  4. I'm sorry you are disappointed!! if this helps-- we had my shower and bach party combined.... The shower started at 7:30PM and was alot of fun-- then at 10PM we left to go downtown for bachorlette part-- the "scheduling" part worked out really well, and both ended up being alot of fun...Good luck- hope you figure everything out!
  5. I've had 3 fittings-- (all done!-just have to pick up dress now!) and I must admit- I didn't really "fall in love" with my dress until this last fitting. I'm sure after the final alterations are done- you'll love it!

Awesome---whoo-- took a little stress off! - -How would I have ever thought that M&Ms could become a source of a little stress?!?!?! Thanks again!

A private cocktail pary was held there (Gaviotas) a few days ago, and since the Hotel was fully booked, clients that were making a little time in between a drink and dinner took over Gaviotas ( a group of 15 people that weren't invited to the cocktail) this was very uncomfortable for group guests paying extra to have this cocktail at Gaviotas, but as you know Gaviotas is not fully closed just for your event, but other guests can take the seats on the left side of the bar, and have drinks even standing up. The Hotel has built an Sky Palapa, is located next door from Gaviotas, this will be a Fully Private Cocktail event, with bar set up, and the same breathtaking ocean view as in Gaviotas. This was we will be able to not interrupt your cocktail party and have enough privacy for your event. The location is beautiful and I'm sure you will enjoy it very much. Valeria sent me this yesterday, also, with pictures of the Sky Palapa. I really loved Gaviotas, and hadn't heard any brides on this forum talk about being bombarded by another group, but obviously, this happened and complaints were made. So, I'm glad they are being proactive about it! I told her it would be fine to change it to the Sky Palapa. Tracy - you definitely want to check with Monica- I would have thought she should have gotten in touch with you- Valeria called me 3 times yesterday trying to talk about it over the phone, since it was a change in plans... I was just planning on having a cocktail party there- not a sitdown dinner- so it might be that it is different for a sitdown dinner....I wouldn't think anyone would approach the bar if it was obviously set up with a sit-down dinner?!?!? Here are the pics of the Sky Palapa that Valeria sent me....It actually looks like a good place for a cocktail hour for a smaller group- but Tracy, not sure they could even do a sitdown dinner here!??!?!? Don't know if any former brides have any input?

  10. That's what we are doing! We are having 19 guests total -so we are doing a semi-private dinner at one of the restaurants (with food included) and then renting a private space after dinner for the cutting and dancing!
  11. Thank you so much for posting!!! Since I'm getting married there in just 3 weeks, I am so glad to hear how perfect your wedding was! Sounds absolutely amazing! Please post pix as you get them!! Sounds like the only problem you had, was with the stupid photographer policy- is this right? You've made me super excited about my wedding -thanks again!! CONGRATS!!!
  12. Absolutely gorgeous! You are so beautiful and your wedding looked so sweet and intimate! Congratulations!!!
  13. Hey ladies! I know girls on this forum before have used M&M's have a favor or in their OOT bags.. Does anyone have any advice on the best way to take them to Mexico with you, without the melting or getting "yucky?" Would you put them into a checked bag, or a carryon bag, or would it make a difference? Thanks for any help!!!
  14. Hey guys-I'm a little confused over the wine at EDR. I had a guest ask me yesterday, if he and his gfriend wanted to have a bottle of wine on their balcony one evening- how does that work? I told him I didn't think they gave bottles of wine out -but I think they do have it by the glass?-Is this right? Could someone clarify this for me??! Thanks so much!!!
  15. This thread totally made me laugh! I can soo relate! I have "just" 2! I couldn't decide on styles-- my watters is more formal, and I'm wearing that on my wedding day. my hjelms is more "slinky" and I am wearing that at the AHR....
  16. I love this thread! -so I'm not the only one?!?! My mom always told me it would happen, since I never put any sunscreen on my face-- and it never burned. Last summer, out of nowhere- I got dark spots on my upper lip (nice!) and on my cheeks.... I went to a spa here in Raleigh, and bought a package of 4 lactic acid peels. The girl doing them seems to know her s**t, and after 3 of the peels, I can see a noticeable difference. I have one more scheduled- and after that last peel, my wedding is in 2 weeks. I'm now the girl who puts on 30+ on her face just to go run outside! The package wasn't especially cheap --it was $350, but that included a 20% tip-- so far, it has been worth it....I know wish I had taken some before and after pix!
  17. We are doing something kinda similar- my parents are celebrating their 38th wedding anniversary in June- so I'm going to write how I hope me and DH will be as happy as they have been and how much I appreciate them showing me first-hand what true love is....Their life example is one I hope to follow.. --obviously, I don't have it all down--- but something to that extent!
  18. YAH!!!!!!!!!!! So excited for you!!! Wow, I wish I was there now! We are sending fabulous vibes down to Mexico to you! I know you are having an amazing day!! CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. This might be kinda random---- but I have a close girlfriend that is getting married in Atlantic Beach, NC-- which is closer than Mexico! She is getting married in October and is really happy so far with the resort, and the wedding coordinators.. Here's where she is having her wedding.... The Ocean Club Resort Good luck!
