Oh yes, Vince's mom is a very beautiful lady - we had noticed her the day of the wedding. But of course, no one looked more beautiful than you did!
Awww thanks-- Vince and I have dated for 10 years-- so it was a long time coming! :) I was just happy (and really really nervous initially!)... I'm known as a tomboy to most, so I think just wearing a dress in general suprised people! :)
We had to add them to everything- it was kinda horrible. We had to pay for extra decorated chairs at the ceremony, we had to pay for them to be at the private cocktail party, we had to pay for them to be at the chocolate fountain party/reception at Tucanes, and then pay for the decorated chairs at Tucanes for them-- Vince's mom (since she had originally invited them-hehe)- paid for their day passes.. Valeria was really good- I was able to get an email to her from vince's laptop at the airport and then we checked in with the WC's onsite when we got there--(and paid then)-the resort was really accomodating -but it was an aggravating situation, for sure. There was an RSVP date on the invitation fryingpan.gif... oh well! :)

LOL LOL LOL-- that is too funny!! I had to go back and look! Mandy must be in the hot pink bathing suit-- i love it! well her bathing suit matches my colors-- so we should have coordinated more! hehe--- that was a picture that I flew through bc it had our "randoms" in it -Vince's mom is the pretty lady in the long pink dress and then Vince's brother is in the dreds..The other 3 people were complete "randoms"- like 8th cousins-twice-removed. They booked at another resort and called the day we left for Mexico to say they were coming--- the day we left!! Good lord!! So we kinda avoided them most of the day- hehe...
I wish I could have said hello to you guys! :)

    Thanks,

I know Bre had her reception at Tucanes and Sol did her photography- so the pix are amazing-- here is the link to her slideslow.... her reception was just beautiful.
del Sol Photography associate photographer Vincent

We had our reception at Tucanes in May-- we had a total of 22 people- and it was the perfect space for that group of people! Bre had a private dinner there also, that looked fabulous-- but we just had the "free" dinner at Fuentes- and then moved to Tucanes for the dancing, cake cutting, etc... (we did the private chocolate fountain party for dessert at Tucanes). I don't yet have the "official" slideshow from Cancun Studios- but I have the link that just has all the pictures posted...
Here is the link-- the pictures at Tucanes start on page 56... We only had photographer for the first half hour at Tucanes (we had him for 5.5 hours total)- so there aren't a ton of pictures from Tucanes- just the cake cutting and first dances...

    Hope this helps!

I myself am doing pink and orange with touches of brown. I wonder if I can go with the Mexican Calla Lillies and ask them to wrap them in nice orange ribbon for me. I asked for the BB14 StarGazer & Casablanca cause I thought they could find them in my colors bt Valeria says they only have them in white or pink. I really want to wear a pretty flower on my hair that would match my bouquet. I thought a stargazer would look pretty, but oh well we'll see.
You totally could ask them to wrap them in an orange ribbon- they actually asked me if I wanted ivory or white ribbon and asked like- what way to tie it (like if I wanted it criss-cross or not, or if I wanted a bow at the bottom or not, etc)--- so I think you can pretty much do whatever you want. -the mexican calla lillies that my sister had were really really pretty---i would def recommend them---- your wedding colors sound beautiful!! :)
  5. First of all- I'm totally in love with Fred!! your dog is the cutest!

my bouquet was kinda expensive... It was $250 -I originally picked the DB3- the 20 calla lillies.. (on lomas website it's now listed at $300- I guess they upped the price?!?!)

But Valeria wrote me about a month before our wedding and said a previous bride had ordered that bouquet and they had come in -and the bride wasn't pleased at all- that the lillies were much darker than the pictures showed and looked more like something for a winter wedding and she recommend I change my order.

I definitely appreciated her emailing me ahead of time and letting me know!-- so they took my colors of "red and pink" and made a mixed bouquet of tulips and roses-- and just charged me the same - $250-- I think the tulips were the expensive part- evidently they are hard to get in Mexico....

Here is another pictures of the flowers- by the time I got to ordering the bouquets- i was kinda "in the zone" LOL- not thinking about money- just adding stuff-- so they were expensive- but I really did love them- they were super pretty.. And we put them in a vase in our room the rest of the time there and enjoyed them--- our bellhop (marten) was super nice so when he came to pick up our bags when we checked out, I gave him the flowers (still looked good) to take home to his wife- he was more excited about that than Vince's $20 tip! :)

I only had my sister stand up with me-- I ordered her the PB9- Mexican calla lillies and they were "only" $130- and they were really pretty too....

  6. I 2nd the windy-ness!! it was very windy! -- but our wedding was a 4PM and it was hot- so the wind did help keep things comfortable...

I wore my hair half up and down-- but the part that was down was stiff as a rock -LOL... In this pictures you can see mine still is blowing and my mom and dad's is def blowing..

And here is one of the pictures with the girls-- I had a curl that wanted to stand straight up (nice!) but you can def tell by the other girls that is was windy- esp poor Jackie (the one on the far right-- her hair, in real life, doesn't look crazy like that-- i think she was on the end and got the worst of it!

  7. Thanks so much you guys for your feedback on the Honeymoon Breakfast & Candlelight Dinner expierences. I know this will help so many future EDR brides including myself.

Everything sounds so delicious! Being that I'm such a finicky eater, I wonder if it would be ok to ask them to maybe omit certain sauces..on things. Is it possible to just have a plain omelet? Hey and the fact that you can pick now with the option of maybe changing your choices later is GREAT!

They let you change anything- at least at Kampani-- my DH is not really into anything "fancy"- so I had my "beautiful" fruit french toast and omelets :) --and he would just go in and ask if he could have "plain scrambled eggs with a side of bacon" -then he puts hot sauce (?!?!) on his eggs- so he asked for that and they brought him that- he was also able to order "plain hashbrowns with cheese" --- so he was basically able to order iHOP in Mexico- LOL. I was kinda embarrassed the first few mornings- but by the end of the week- they knew him and he didn't even have to order! :) The service there is just amazing.

I am not sure how much you can change up the breakfasts they bring you in your room-- we didn't think beforehand for that- but there was so much in the breakfast (they are HUGE) that he was able to "work with it"--- I loved it all- so it was no problem for me! :)

  8. Timesel I love your pictures!!!! --you guys are such a great looking couple!!

We also had the 3 cheese fondue on the beach- and that was our most fav dinner. The sax player, the service, the privacy, the food-- it was all so romantic-- definitely a night we won't forget!

We actually had 2 "honeymoon breakfasts!" - we had the one that came with our package the morning after we got married and it was yummy-- they set up the whole breakfast on the table on our balcony -so it was perfect! Also, one of my girlfriends that wasn't able to come to the wedding, had gone online and bought us another breakfast (not knowing we got one "free" with the package)-- as a suprise! - so we ended up having another honeymoon breakfast in our room the last morning there.... Both were great!

I agree with timesel--- our room was across the path from Kampani and they had amazing breakfast-- we had breakfast there everymorning (besides the 2 we had in our room). I had their french toast everytime and DH had their eggs and bacon-- very yummy!!!

When I asked about it, they said they only bring one, period, no going to get the other one. I had to argue to get them to go bring the other one, and told them we were assured that they would be brought to the dinner to be used as centerpieces.

Then, we had paid extra to have the medallions cut into two pieces and floated in the pool at the Health Bar (this was Raphaela's idea along with floating lanterns). Again, they only did the one. I didn't bother arguing this time, but I did go in the next morning and got my money back for the extra lantern I had paid for that wasn't used.

So our experience was totally the opposite of yours as to their willingness to decorate using items we had already purchased. We were told if we didn't take the medallions with us at the end of the night they would go into the trash can, so we took them back to our rooms for the rest of the week.

WOW- that is interesting -I double-checked with the DH- and evidently he and his brother had a convo with the WC's the day of wedding about having the medallions moved to Tucanes ( I was in the spa getting my hair and makeup done! :) -so I wasn't aware of this convo!) --but the centerpieces that were used at Fuentes, being used again the next evening at the private dinner; and the flower medallions being used again the next evening at the private dinner--- those were "suprises"! -I guess I did just luck out!

Oh yea-- I did forget to mention this---- Valeria had originally told me that I could bring my own votives, placecards, menus for the dinner (in addition to the centerpieces I bought from them) and I wasn't told about an extra charge for those being placed. At the very end, right before we left- they tried to charge me- but I emailed that it wasn't on "the spreadsheet" for the extra charge and I had already paid and expected the setups to be done- so they agreed, since I wasn't told that before and I had already paid. Otherwise, I think I would have been charged for that too, I believe?!?!?

    Thank you for the information
Actually all the lights were white- there were no green ones- I think they just look green in the picture bc of the flash... But they had those lights out--I am like 98% sure they were brought out (not mounted) but I am not positive about that.
There was plenty of light to see menus, see what you were eating, to see and chat with the people at the end of the table ,etc-- there was plenty of light! It was cool, bc of where the table is-- you walk down little stone stairs, off the walkway- it kinda felt like you had your own little island- right at the ocean- but that might have just been me drinking some and just being happy! :) LOL...

The resort actually, without me asking, for this private dinner the day after our wedding day--- used BOTH our roses centerpieces from Fuentes and the medallions from the ceremony (and Tucanes).

So the flower medallions were used 3 times- during our actual wedding ceremony, at our reception at Tucanes and the next night at our dinner on the beach. Our short rose vases were used twice- at our wedding dinner at Fuentes and the next night at the dinner on the beach...They actuall suprised me with that!

That is what we did! We had really simple programs for our guests- and in the programs had a tribute to our grandparents- I forget the exact wording- but it was something about "to the heroes in our life. though you aren't here with us physically, we know you are here with us spiritually. We reserve a chair for you, as a symbol of your spiritual presence. We will strive to follow your life example of true love."- (neither of us have living grandparents). Then in the program, we had the grandparents names and the dates they were married...I think I still have the template at home- I'll check....

Then DH had 4 longstem roses (one for each grandparent) that he walked down the aisle with, and put in the chair before he took his place, and I did the same-- had 4 longstem roses, in addition to my bouquet and placed the roses in the chair...
  12. I pulled them from work. :) -obviously, this isn't our wedding night and the photos aren't "professional"-- so hopefully this will help give you some feel of how it was-- but the pictures are slightly random...

This picture might seem kinda random, but if you look between me and my mom's shoulders, you can see the lights they have.. also, this is a picture of my "2nd" wedding dress I bought for this dinner! :) hehe...

  13. They are really really close in proximity--- I had my private dinner at the white gazebo and loved it. It is completely in sand, though, if that makes a difference. It also felt a little off the path-while we were eating dinner- where the table was, it just felt private...It was windy- but not too windy for me- but I don't know how other girls/brides would feel....

We saw a reception at the Health Bar one evening- and it was beautiful-- not on the sand-but across the little "pathway" of the beach- you were able to get a nice breeze off the ocean.

    I think this might be a win-win! :)

    Thanks,
    Jennifer
Hey! I'll pull some up from snapfish--- I'll post those when I get home tonght.... It wasn't too windy in general, but DEF too windy for votive candles! I "rented" 25 votives from the resort, and they couldn't light them-- I would definitely recommend passing on the votives!
There was plenty of light- they have lighting out there-- I rented tiki torches that were pretty- but not necessary for lighting....
We didn't have music- but I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem... On the very left of the photo- with the blue tablecloth, they had a completely full bar set up- it was crazy how many bottles they had over there- they had EVERYTHING.

On Valeria's recommendation- I didn't reserve a tent-- the stars were so amazing- and it was a clear night- so we could see them- that it would have been something that I would have hated to miss...

I'll post the pix later tonight!
  15. Then the following night- the last night our guests were at resort- we had a private dinner on the beach. (kinda a "thank-you"/"good-bye" dinner)-- we walked past it earlier in the day, when it was still light-- the centerpieces aren't setup yet- but you can see the setup of the table! :) We had one long table at the private dinner on the beach the following night...
