I think a wedding there would be amazing-- at the time we were looking into it- it seemed as if EDR was a tad cheaper for guests to stay-which is why we went with EDR- but it does look an amazing resort!

  4. the bags are adorable!! love them! - congrats on upcoming wedding- sure it will be beautiful!!!!
  5. I've seen a few EDR brides saying they were considering having the "chocolate fondue" party after their wedding dinner.... We are confirmed for it and I asked Valeria if she could send me a picture of what it looked like--- looks yummy :) -- belive this is $14/person....

My FIs friends are super competitive, so I am going to try to get everyone together for pool or beach volleyball too one day early on the trip. I figure this will be a good way for all of my sister's husband and friends' boyfriends or husbands to get to know everyone too. I was actually wondering this myself-- with noone really having cell phones to use-- i was wondering how my FI and I would know when our guests were arriving- having a preset place to meet for cocktails before dinner is a good idea...
  7. Our resort is charging us $250 to set up speakers/amplifiers for our iPOD-- for each location we want music! (ie cocktail hour on the beach, then where our actual reception is taking place) What kind of "docking station" or speakers would be good to use for an iPOD- I think I'd rather buy one of those instead of paying resort.... Could I buy something that would be loud enough/clear enough to be heard at a reception? Thanks for any help!!

I'm assuming if they are Presidential Suites -then they are kinda away from the main area?!?! I have no idea though...
  12. Hey everyone- just got some info from Valeria (Lomas WC) thought might be helpful... I switched my ceremony location from the Casita Gazebo to the Presidential Gazebo-- Valeria said the Presidential location was more private and could hold comfortably around 30 guests.. Here's a pix she sent... Also, I was trying to get Tucanes for our private dinner with our guests our last night there- and it was already booked so she sent pix of the "Royale Salon" as an alternative... Just some other options!
  13. Shannon - getting married at EDR on May 16, 2008 -small wedding of approx 20 guests.. Currently - though it's changed a trillion times so who knows what it'll look like in May.... wedding ceremony at 4PM- was at Casitas Gazebo- but if the limit of guests is 15 -not sure now-- maybe at the Gazebo near the Presidential Suites or Building 55 Gazebo.. white glove cocktail party - after ceremony- at the Gaviotas Palapa location -while we take pictures, wait to be seated for dinner. dinner/reception (part of "free" sweet package) - at Fuentes chocolate fondue/cake cutting/ first dance ,etc - at covered pool location after dinner.... The night after our wedding -meeting with guests on their last night before they leave- at Tucanes -for a private dinnner [/b]at 7PM off of EDR's private catering menu... FI and I are staying a few more nights after they leave.... Cool post idea- this will be super helpful!
  14. If you love it- go for it... This would be the one day/occasion you buy what you love! Normally, I would say- too expensive- but now I'm too the point of "what's another $145?" - If your heart is set on it- go for it and rock the flower!!

  17. I'm booked with them for my wedding in May -they fit our budget- I think the pictures look good- and so far have been very responsive to my questions- happy so far!
  18. These are beautiful!! The pix are great!! I love your dress and hair- everything was amazing!!! Congratulations!!!!!:cheer2 The info was very very helpful- thank you so much- I'm getting married at EDR in May- so this was awesome! Did you have to pay to have speakers set up for your music/cds? I am working with Valeria as my coordinator for the resort- and this is what she wrote me this week... "250.00usd to have speakers and amplifier, you will just plug your Ipod, and "Let the music Play" As our beloved Barry White used to say... Did you have to pay $250 to have speakers set up!? Did they set the music/speakers up at ceremony site and at reception!??! It seemed really expensive to me-- Everything looked amazing- thanks again for review!
  19. Thanks so much guys-- I think I'm going for it... If people get annoyed, then they can wear whatever-or just have a few more drinks at the AI bar and I'm sure that'd help! ---- I think I'll put in there since we are having a small wedding and everything invited is special to us, we consider all of our guests to be part of our official wedding party- with that, it'd be great if everyone can wear dressy beach attire in shades of white, khaki, blue, red or yellow... If a guests wants to wear orange or black -we'll just stick them in back of pix- hehe Thanks again everyone!
