Atlanta BD photographers wanted
gwynemark replied to georgiabeauty's topic in Destination Wedding Vendors
Hey Brittany, I would highly recommend not going with a Photobucket book. The money you are spending on the photogs services and the room alone make this a not so cheap initiative. So you are going through all of this to get some amazing photos in an amazing place and the last thing you want to do is have them displayed in a cheap book. Photobucket books and companies like them make really cheap books. Pages fall out, covers warp, etc...I would highly recommend going with the Asuka or another professional company. I am not your photog so take my advice as someone just trying to save you heartache in the future. Take Care -
Yup, we deal with this sorta thing all the time. We are on the way to a cruise wedding to Jamaica next month and the bride was having a heck of a time getting them to allow us to shoot their wedding. The best way to avoid this is as JT said, get the photog to be a guest at the resort and they waive their costs. Either that or your photographer has give the impression of being a very good friend/family. There is nothing they can do to stop a good friend with a really nice camera from taking photos all day long. Just FYI!

Keep this in mind....there is absolutely nothing they can do if you happen to have friends or family who just so happen to have really nice cameras. When you find your photographer, just tell everyone they are related to you...even though they are not, and the hotel cant stop them from taking photos. They may not like it, but too bad for them. We have had to do this before and I am sure we will do it again and again in the future. Boy, we are related to a lot of people. HAHA!

8/8/8 should be a fun fun fun date for a wedding. Last year the 7/7/7 date was slam packed here in Destin all over the beach. Enjoy the site.

The first and most important thing to consider for a beach wedding is the time of the ceremony. If you are NOT seeing the groom prior to the ceremony, you will want to have your ceremony atleast an hour and half prior to sunset. This will give your photographer time to shoot the two of you after the ceremony. If you ARE seeing him prior, get your photos done before hand and have your ceremony closer to sunset. Good luck!

Good luck! you will find tons of help with locations and everything in between on here. Have fun!

Keep in mind too that even though you are a bit aprehensive about your body, the photographer who is shooting you has probably shot many BD sessions. There will be nothing he/she has not seen before. I know, easier said then done to relax but I assure you, keep the finished product in mind and the photos will turn out great.

Thanks again to everyone! As for those who want to do BD shoots but are affraid to, you definetely need to consider it. We just had a groom come over to pick up his surprise album last night. The same groom from the TTD shoot we recently posted. Anyway, he came and had no idea as his wife is so bashful and reserved. She did a BD shoot for him as a surprise and let me tell you, he was so SHOCKED and HAPPY. He said she has a hard time even being nude in front of him alone, yet she was able to do the shoot. So for all of you who dont think you can do it, think again and find a great photographer to shoot ya. Your man will be quite happy about it.

Actually, we are not anywhere near the keys and are booked in Tallahassee on the 15th and are booked on a cruise leaving the 16th out of Port Canaveral. I do know some great photogs in the Miami area though so if you are still looking, send me a PM and I will get you their contact information. Take care, Gwyne and Mark

I like SEEING what's in the camera... is hard to relinquish that control ya know? Thanks again for the SWEEEEET comments...Sarah, Courtney, Rachel, Mora, JamieLynn. Trust me, after each pregnancy...it took me atleast a YEAR to lose the weight. I was NOT one of those lucky ones that went home from the hospital after giving birth wearing pre-pregnant clothes. And I had twins the first time...so, I've only been pregnant 3 times... thankfully. LOL I have 4 daughters and 1 step son. Got the 5th one free of charge...no morning sickness, no more stretch marks. lol. And Apparently I don't make boys. *grin* ~Gwyne

HELP RIU NEGRIL OR RIU OCHO RIOS
gwynemark replied to Denise's topic in Jamaica Accommodations & Site
Hi Denise, I have not been to either of them but have found over the years that the larger resorts are better staffed and handle DW better. HOwever, a 400+ room resort is no slouch so I dont see a downfall with either. Now with your bringing kids. I would recommend Negril mainly because the waves and currents are not nearly as strong as the Ocho Side. Thats of course if getting in the ocean is somethnig you plan on doing. -
Outside Photographer Warns me about Riu.

I think the majority of the resorts have a policy like this. Either the Photographer is booked in the hotel as a guest or there is a fee. However, there is no rule or law that says you cant have VERY good friends with VERY nice cameras. Seriously, they cannot enforce any rule saying your guests cant have nice cameras and be shooting you for free. Something to keep in mind if you want to avoid the fee. We have had to do it before. -

I've spent so much time researching family-friendly resorts for the wedding, that I haven't even started on honeymoon resorts! And dlou, great to see another Baton Rouge face! =) I heard Secrets is really great. Good luck if you go there. Also nice to see a Baton Rouge couple on here. We live in Destin but do a few wedding out in that area from time to time. We will be there again in Feb and just cant wait. Love BR!

This sounds really good and I am as well, a huge fan of carmal corn. When I first saw the post I was thinking candy corn, you know the orange traiangle candy with the yellow then the white tip. A popular Halloween candy. Anyway, if you like the candybar PAYDAY? just grab a handful of candy corn and a handful of salted peanuts and mix. It tastes exactly like a payday and you can eat it like trailmix. YUMMY!

Ireland sounds like an amazing place for a wedding. Good luck and be sure to share photos when you get back. Take care

Wow... I see my husband has been busy! lol I didn't know these were HERE until a little while ago. Thanks Ann, Janet, Tammy and anyone I missed for the VERY kind comments. And Amy, holy smokes backatcha.....Fabulous costume and you looked amazing in it. OH and Tammy, aka Post Whore...that cracked me up. Yes we have quite a few kids... I'm lucky to have a high metabolism but sweating my *arse* off on the beach almost daily tends to be helpful too!

The thing that is most amazing about her photos is that we have 5 kids, 4 of which she birthed herself. So 4 babies have come from that body. Wow, I love my wife! Walking up and down the beach every day shooting 3 year olds who run in circles and then beach weddings almost every weekend keep her in shape. Something to be said about our job I guess. It keeps you young.
