How are you doing your hair?
Birdie07 replied to *JillD*'s topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I'm still up in the air about my hair. It just now has hit my waist. It's straight and long. For my sisters wedding (first time) I wore it all up and I hated it afterwards and then the second time I wore it super curly and I still didn't like it. So I have no idea what to do. Getting my hair cut is a long process in itself. Maybe I'll do half up and half down. I don't have a pic of all my hair (it's hard to fit) but lets see... First pic is my hair normally... Second is it curly and I didn't like it I know the pics are pink ...my niece likes to edit and she likes pink as opposed to normal bw. -

Birdie07 replied to Saraha's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I got mine during that sale also. I didn't really look at the 99 dollar ones. I just got a discount of my dress. But I bought my dress in October so thats the last sale I know they had. But you can call them and ask. -
At Home Reception Ideas Needed
Birdie07 replied to CluelessBride's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I'm getting married 12/18/07 and I'm having 2 AHR receptions. One in CO which I am NOT planning. I just told my Aunt (inlaw) hahh is that word..neways and my MIL. They are decorating with candles on mirrors sand seashells and such. Half christmasy half beachy. All his family will be there and his town pretty much. (SMAALLL TOWN) and then I'm having another reception in my home state but its also small probably just little snacks and such I haven't planned that one yet. The one with his family will be on the 23rd of december. The one in my hometown will be in January. I just say be lowkey casual. I plan on wearing my dress to both. I mean how often will you wear it other wise? -
Ring Shell instead of pillow
Birdie07 replied to MsShelley's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
So I got my package today with our shell holders we ordered. I do like them. I orginally got 2 so that I had one for his ring but they are a little bigger so I'm gonna put our rings in one. They aren't huge though. They're perfect for both rings. And we had our names Calia & Tony and the date like this 12.18.2007 cause for some reason I like periods instead of dashes. But they are fine for what I'm using. You can tell she handmakes them and they are different colors. One shell case is pinkish in color the other case is pure white in color. Anyways they're pretty cute. I got them off the hansonellis.com website. Pretty cheap idea. I can take a pic if you guys want to see them and put them next to something to show size. Just let me know. -
K so I saw a couple of people giving their FI a book before the wedding and finally figured out what it is hahah. Anyways my questions is how can you make your own? Or can you? And how do you? If not where did you do yours? Any information helpful. p.s. not sure if I put this thread in the right place feel free to move it.

I made mine with wedding announcer also. It's very easy and I can add pages and upload documents and I love that I have music. So far it's pretty easy but with our small amount of people coming they don't really use it haha. But oh well cause it was FREEEEE and no ads. YAY. Our Wedding Website -
Post pix of your tablescapes
Birdie07 replied to Lizzy's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Well I'm not having a reception in Jamaica so I won't need centerpieces just plan on using flowers or buying little glass things to put candles on maybe but probably not. But I'm having 2 AHR when I get back. For the tables it will be 3 tables put together pretty long. In the middle is a mirror with 5 different size candles then sand scattered to 2 sand castles and seashells scattered through the sand and then 2 smaller centerpieces at the 2 end tables with 3 candles instead of 5. Then we got one bigger sand castle for the guestbook table. I'm actually NOT planning this reception. It's in CO and his family is doing it. I just told them the idea and sent pics and they did all the work. So I'm not really stressing or anything. And then my FI's brother does cakes and hes making a cake thats blue with seashells on it. For favors my MIL is making white chocolate mint molds in the shape of seashells and I'll probably attach a little card to it. Then they are letting me keep all the decorations so I'll take all of it to my other reception for my family and do the same. Easy easy! But the seashells and the sandcastles and even little shells to put your rings in can be found at Carmel Curios for SUPER CHEAP!! And they're gorgeous! -
Ok girls, so my questions is: I'm having a super small wedding and all my guests are staying at the RIU..pretty much my parents, his parents, his aunt and uncle and maybe a few other couples so maximum 20 people more like ten probably. So I'm not going to have a private reception b/c not only is that money to rent it out it's kinda pointless. So I'm gonna just do the semi-private in one of the restaurants and have dinner together. What my ?? is is what restaurant would be best and or what restaurant do I have choices of? Any help is appreciated. I know there are threads on the restaurants but I can't find them and I just wanted all my info in one place easy to find? Sorry.

Well I did some searching and I couldn't find the tire tread one but I'm still looking. But I found some you might like for him. Just ideas. I forgot to put that I would recommend polished tungston. When we got his the jeweler said b/c the way they brush tungston it is possible to scratch the brushed tungston. So he recommended the polished b/c its harder. If that makes sense. We have his ring but he can't wear it yet *wink* but when he does I'll let you know how it does. Anyways heres some pics to see if you like any of them. Or give you an idea. I'm sorry if they're big I don't know how to make them smaller yikes...

My FI found that ring. He wanted a tungston ring and so he searched for weeks. One day he goes how bout this one and showed me a tungston one with tire tread design and I laughed. I don't think he seriously wanted it but thought it was funny. But I HAVE seen this ring. About the ER thing it is true you cannot cut it. But you CAN engrave it..my FI is engraving his the trick you MUST go to a FINE jeweler to do it. When they first came out people wouldn't but since it's becoming more popular they will. I think hahah. Anyways about the ER...it's pressure..b/c tungston is like a ceramic the way it is made they have to clamp it and apply pressure to crack it. I have seen tungston break personally in a jewelry store ....so it can come off just with pressure. Anyways just thought I'd throw that out there not to rule out tungston. I will tell my FI to find the tire tread one again...and I'll look but I HAVE seen it...good luck! And tungston is beautiful! The smoky color I love it

Reverse Cradle Rings
Birdie07 replied to foxytv's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
It's called a wrap, I guess b/c it wraps all the way around your E ring. I don't have a pic b/c I don't have it done yet. Mine will be custom b/c I bought 2 bands that I'm putting together. I can't decide whether to fuse them together BEFORE my wedding or wait till after...ugh. But I will post a pic when I have it done. But I've seen wraps where you just set your E ring inside it and it makes it look like one ring. They are pretty too. -
Thank you thank you thank you Carly for sending me points. You are so sweet!!

Reverse Cradle Rings
Birdie07 replied to foxytv's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I think this is the same as what I'm getting but its called something different. Its where your engagement ring sits inside your wedding band. Though I'm making it so mine never comes apart. Those are pretty but the first link didn't work. -
Is there any way to change my screenname? user name whatever you call it? My FI doesn't like it (i know grr) ..too much personal information? and I can't figure out how to do anything? Any help will be appreciated

So I saw this b/c I haven't decided what to play and I really love the Somewhere over the rainbow and it feels like home and I just couldn't decide. But tell me what you guys think. My whole family won't be able to make it except my parents so I feel kinda sad that they'll be missing out. So I thought I would ask my brother who is a music major in school right now and Drum Major for his college, if maybe he could play a song or two and have any of his friends play other pieces like the piano and his gf plays the french horn and they could record this for me. Then when I walk down the aisle I could play it so it's kinda like hes there playing it for me. I don't know? What do you guys think? Sappy?? Ugh.

small wedding...what to do after the reception?
Birdie07 replied to DreamsTulumBride's topic in Wedding Music & Entertainment
I have a similar problem too. We're having a veeeery small wedding too. My parents, his parents, his aunt and uncle and some friends. I have no idea what to do after dinner either. We won't be having a "reception" b/c with that few of guests theres not really a way to reserve a big room and do dancing and stuff. But I want to do something after dinner I just have no idea what either. Sigh. -
Sooooo Pretty! I love the shoes and the dancing

Beach-Themed Ring Holders
Birdie07 replied to foxytv's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I think i'll get 2 of these 2. They're so cheap and it has our name and dates on it for 1 dollar! Or if I don't like them I'll just get a real shell and do it. Either way I love the idea! -
Ok girls, Just wanted to let you know everythings confirmed. I don't know what happened but I did the confirmation at the RIU and my TA just emailed me the email with the confirmation voucher from the RIU so I'm good...unless I'm missing something else. But I'm set for Dec. 18, 2007 at 4 on the beach. YAY!! Thanks for not letting me stress out too much!

She had to leave a message...so I haven't heard. I went ahead and did the confirm thing on the website but to me it seems redundant...You get a confirmation number to be able to confirm....isn't that redundant? I am so confused.

Shelley, Even though I'm new to the board and I don't know everyone yet I saw this post and it tugged at my heart. I'm going through something similar though I've known for a while. I'm a nanny and I see kids regularly and it is hard sometimes when I hold infants but I've gotten better. Just make sure you see a specialist and wait till he sits you down and explains everything. Sometimes it might be harder but there is alot out there now to help. Even shots daily. More information. I know the first blow is the hardest. It'll be alright. I know my hardest thing was to tell my FI whch was before he proposed. I felt like I was holding him back but hes been amazing and yours is too! Don't give up!! You'll have kids no matter what and you'll be an amazing mother! Feel free to message me anytime. Everything will be ok!
