I haven't. I downloaded it. But I'm almost done with another book so I'm gonna finish that one first. But you have an entire month to read it.
-
Funny thing. I checked the e-store yesterday and they didn't have the book. Checked just now and they do for ten bucks. Haha. Great luck!!
-
Just to make you feel better...I think every other book submitted is already in paperback. There are 2 I'm not sure of b/c I haven't read them. Â And I LOOOOVE my e-reader. You'll love it!
-
I don't know about the paperback issue. I guess we should vote. I don't mind paying for hard back b/c I keep my books and they stay in better shape and I re-read them. But I also am buying my books through an e-reader which is generally cheaper. You can also always sell your books after you read them and get money back or swap them online. Or you can always just get it from the library. Â OORRRR...we could make it a requirement that any book submitted must be in paperback (This will rule out any new books for at least a few months ..not sure how long it takes books to get to paperback).
-
How about I just assume everyone will submit the same book. If you'd like to change it let me know. Haha. Sounds easier! I am also excited about this book. It sounds good!!!!

Ok. I decided to just go ahead and pick. I'm guessing you girls don't have one to suggest so I'll let you just be absent this time and next time you can choose. Which is perfectly ok for first timers!! So we had 12 books and the random generator chose number 5 which was Crystalballl's choice. She chose:  Emma Donoghue "Room"  This is our first book. I've never read it but just went to amazon to get a synopsis for you guys.  In many ways, Jack is a typical 5-year-old. He likes to read books, watch TV, and play games with his Ma. But Jack is different in a big way--he has lived his entire life in a single room, sharing the tiny space with only his mother and an unnerving nighttime visitor known as Old Nick. For Jack, Room is the only world he knows, but for Ma, it is a prison in which she has tried to craft a normal life for her son. When their insular world suddenly expands beyond the confines of their four walls, the consequences are piercing and extraordinary. Despite its profoundly disturbing premise, Emma Donoghue's Room is rife with moments of hope and beauty, and the dogged determination to live, even in the most desolate circumstances. A stunning and original novel of survival in captivity, readers who enter Room will leave staggered, as though, like Jack, they are seeing the world for the very first time. --Lynette Mong  So we'll give us a month to read. So book discussion will open on October 12th. Also, any time from now until the next book you can submit a book for next month. If you would like to submit the same book just let me know in a PM or you can choose a new book to submit. Obviously, Crystal you will have to choose a new one.  Happy Reading!!!!

Diva Cup / Instead Cup - tampon / pad alternative

The instead is a little trickier. Try bearing down before you take it. It will cause the "seal" to break and should empty by itself. Then pull it out. Another way is to carry disposable gloves with you. Put the glove on, pull it out then empty it. Then squeeze it together like you're putting in, pull the glove from the wrist down and pull the instead cup inside the glove to throw away. Presto, no mess! Hope one of those will help you! -
Only missing 3 peoples suggestions. I'm gonna name you guys who are missing so you realize. If you don't have a book suggestion and don't have one you've been wanting to read please PM me still so that I know to put that in the spreadsheet!  HockeyMom97 lyndsay_h Shoesiesluvr  Almost to picking a book!!

10 Suggestions and 16 members Woohoo!!!
-
Well girls, we have 15 members already! Yay! I still need nine more book suggestions. So if you haven't sent me one keep thinking!!
-
Yay, I have received book suggestions. Sadly I'm at work (ssssh) and the spreadsheet is on my personal laptop at home. Grrr. I'll have to email it to my work so I can keep track! Just FYI, you don't have to have read the book to submit. If you've really wanted to read a book you've heard rave reviews about by all means submit it!!
-
I made a Book Club thread. So if you're interested make sure you go over there. Also PM me with your book suggestion!

Sorry for the blank post. But I am having major trouble posting a new thread. So ignore that one!  I'm starting a new thread for book club so as not to confuse it with the Who Likes to Read thread.  Here's how we do this. I need everyone interested in joining to send me a private message with the book they'd like to submit. I made a spreadsheet and it will list all the books. I will randomly pick a number (from a website) which is assigned a book and thats how we will choose the book. I think we will give each book a month to read. (If everyone is ok with that.)  Here are the girls who said they were interested: HockeyMom97 AshleyL lyndsay_h hat0112 BachataBride Canadiansandy crystalballl  So I'm gonna wait and see if anyone else wants to join and get all the book suggestions. Also we had a disclaimer I'd like to put on here too that we had last time.  BOOK CLUB DISCLAIMER (per forum mods): Participation in this Book Club is strictly voluntary. Books are not pre-screened and may contain material or discuss issues which are unexpected, shocking or even offensive. If a member is not comfortable with the given selection participation can end and, if desired, begin again when the next book is selected.

Probably Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Terry Goodkind is my favorite but then you'll want the next one after that. Haha.  Well, you can put one of those books in the hat and it might get chosen!  I have an excel spreadsheet with everyone's name who is in the BC. Then everyone recommends a book and then there's a website that randomly chooses a number and I put the books with a number and that's how we choose the book. Or I think last time the person whose book was chosen can choose the number for the next time but I think that takes longer. Then after we choose the book we pick a deadline and when the deadline gets here we open the discussion floor to discuss the book.   "Mikael Blomkvist, a once-respected financial journalist, watches his professional life rapidly crumble around him. Prospects appear bleak until an unexpected (and unsettling) offer to resurrect his name is extended by an old-school titan of Swedish industry. The catch--and there's always a catch--is that Blomkvist must first spend a year researching a mysterious disappearance that has remained unsolved for nearly four decades. With few other options, he accepts and enlists the help of investigator Lisbeth Salander, a misunderstood genius with a cache of authority issues."  Hope that helps!!

Diva Cup / Instead Cup - tampon / pad alternative

If it's the Diva cup and not the instead try squeezing all the way at the top to undo the suction. Then pull straight down so you don't tip it. Hope that helps! -
Sarah's Key made me BAWL my friggin eyes out. Loved that book!! Terry Goodkind is probably my favorite author. Love that series. Â Â So I noticed we have a lot of participants in this thread. Is anyone interested in getting the BDW book club started back up??? We could pick a book a month to give everyone plenty of time to read it. Let me know if you guys are? I totally miss it. Let me read stuff I wouldn't of read normally. Â

I have the sony e-reader. Light as a paperback. LOVE IT. Books are cheaper than bookstores. Get a brand new book for less than ten bucks, when hardback in the store would be 20 bucks or more. I have saved so much money using my e-reader. Plus I can fit a ton of books in it and take it instead of lugging heavy books. Great for travelling! And yes, laying in bed and holding it is so much nicer than flipping every five minutes and turning pages!!!

Born to run is awesome. My Vibram Five Fingers are on order and then I start training to run with no shoes!!!!!!

It takes everything from the other books to the next level. All the books are filled with action and the main character Anita is a take no crap from anyone type of women. Also, one of my favorite series. I think I've recommended it on the Twilight thread. Very R rated in the upper books!!! Here other series is also very good! Just thought I'd pass those recommendations along And the movie is being filmed with Robert Pattison playing the lead and Reese Witherspoon as the female lead!! We read Water for Elephants in the BDW Book Club!

I know a lot of women who swear by the soft cup. It you do it right all the "goop" as you guys called it is on the right side. It is tricky but possible. They sell instead cups at wal-mart that are easy and disposable if you against re-using stuff.

Of course Carly! I'm a little worried b/c it says "open sides". Guess I better find something for under it too. Haha! Don't wanna be going commando under it!
