What did your groom wear to the wedding?
Birdie07 replied to DreamsComeTrue's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
My DH wore linen pants and a white linen tunic top. He did not roast! And this was in December. And it was HOT! -
ROR Photographer's Policy Change

I also used CC with everything including Michael. I was not going to carry that much cash. And I agree with Mo, alot of ppl don't accept cc in Jamaica. -

I don't know if anyone knows but tomorrow June 20th is World Refugee Day. Even if you don't do anything on this day at least think or send a prayer (for those of you religious) to those refugees around the world. There's a very short video from Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie: YouTube - unhcr's Channel You can also go to the website below to see how facebook is helping if you use facebook: UNHCR - World Refugee Day: Giving refugees a hand on Facebook Or the main site for UNHCR and WRD: World Refugee Day | UNHCR But in all remember how so very very blessed you are that you live in America and while we are here, think how many in need there are all over the world.

Oooh congratulations and welcome back. Off to look at your pics now! -
My DH tells me all the time. He's a nutritionist and chiropractor. He won't let me do any artificial sweeteners. Just like how bad diet drinks are for you because of the aspartame. We do sugar in the raw in baking which is SO much healthier for you. You'd be suprised to know they even put stuff like that in baby formula! And people got mad b/c they put cane sugar in a new formula. Well I'd rather use cane sugar formula instead. It's healthier!

I totally agree. I am also doing this with food and makeup and getting rid of any plastic I can. I'm about to order natural soap from someone who makes it on Etsy. I'm doing bar shampoo in conditioner. And if it works I'll let you know. It gets rid of the pointless plastic bottles it comes in. I hate plastic stuff. Especially baby bottles! Oops going off topic. I use organic tinted moisturizer for my face. It has water in it instead of oil. I'm excited to try the natural soap. It is amazing what poison's we live with. I just read an article about how we have more pollution in our house than out. Alot comes from paint that we store and cleaning products. I try to use natural cleaning products as well. Ugh to chemicals!

ROR - Wheelchair Accessible?
Birdie07 replied to allyson_07's topic in Jamaica Accommodations & Site
I know there are ramps everywhere. Like the entrance and to get to the pools and such. I'm not sure about the stand alone showers. Probably in the upgraded suites but I didn't do that one so I'm not sure. If you got married in the gazebo in the garden it would be more accessible than the beach. And yes you can rent out a restaurant for your reception. -
YAY! Congratulations! Breastmilk can insulate itself if you pack it right. Just make sure there is no extra space. Put those ice blue packs or crumbled newspaper on top. I would overnight it and have it delivered to a friend or family and have them keep it in their freezer till you get home. If you pack it in a cooler an it's already frozen it should stay frozen. It's all the fat in it that helps keep it frozen longer. Just FedEx it at the latest possible time in the afternoon, and have it delivered at the earliest possible delivery the next morning. This link has suggestions how to ship it if you scroll down a little. Breast Milk Donation My sister also donated breastmilk and the organization didn't use dry ice either. You can use dry ice its just a little more expensive! Hope that helps. YAY! You get to go home!

Maybe a mod can merge them b/c I answered in the other thread. -

I love how white looks and how elegant. And I didn't want to regret not wearing a white dress on my wedding day. 2. Wedding Rings This was my favorite part. I love the symbolism of the rings. Everytime I look at my rings I remember our wedding day. And it shows the world we are committed to one another. My dad never wore a wedding ring while he was married and that to me was wrong. 3. The Bridal Party I would of loved to have a bridal party. To help me get ready to honor their friendships. However none of the people I am close with made it to the wedding. I had both sets of parents and DH's cousin. So no bridal party for me. 4. Your father giving you away Me and my father are not exactly close growing up and I always said I would never have him walk me. However, he's been changing lately and paid for half our wedding. I then decided I didn't want to regret it later and I did have him walk me down the aisle. 5. An over-the-face veil (blusher) I actually originally wanted to do this b/c I love the idea of him lifting it to kiss me. But in the heat and the cost of the veil I wanted I did not do this. I just had a short blusher veil in the back. I think it would of been too much with the veil in front. Hmm it's says I have to type blah blah

I chose ROR b/c I had parents coming that are divorced and didn't want a couples only resort where they would feel uncomfortable. ROR was more fun had more excursions and cheaper for our budget. My DH is a student and didn't have tons of money to throw around for a wedding. It was a perfect fit!

Well, my DH knew when marrying me it would be hard to get pregnant. Knowing that and knowing we wanted children right away we didn't wait to start ttc. B/c we knew it could take a while and we wanted to dry doing it naturally as long as possible. So we've been trying a while actually. And we are bugged constantly about when we're having children which makes it ton harder. I actually took time off from trying b/c the stress was killing me. And seeing babies everywhere was making me a mess! Also we plan on adopting children. My DH wants one of our own before adopting but if that takes longer than expected we might adopt first and then try. Depends on timing. About the being nervous of being a parent. No, I'm not. I've been in childcare 12 years. I've watched tons upon tons of kids. I know what I want to do and not want to do. I know people say it'll be different with your own kid but I still know how I want to raise my child and what things I won't do and will do. I'm more nervous on carrying a baby to term than actually raising it.

But its not a requirement to read the book to submit it. I just choose a number randomly to choose the book from the submissions I get from you guys. So I read it for the first time with you girls. I have finished it though. I read it in a few days. But if we want to make sure the books are "clean" I think we should take a vote and then when you submit a book you have to know that its alright? I don't know. I'd like to hear some other thoughts on it as well. Personally I don't mind it. If its too graphic I skim over it.

Ok girls checking in? Anyone still reading or waiting on the book. Just wondering so we can pick a deadline.

It's probably one of her assistants I think.

My hubby said ice to make the inflamation go down. Don't ice for more than 20 minutes at a time. And the cortozone cream. That sucks. I also have really sensitive skin. I hate it!

Amy’s LONG Planning post *Mucho Pics*

Wow! Everything looks fabulous. I can't wait to see the pics when you get back! -
I didn't know you just get a drink. And no I wouldn't tip 2-3 bucks on that. But if I bought a meal then yes I do. When I lived in STL every morning I got a drink and a burrito thingy and I tipped every morning to the same girl. She was so happy I tipped her. And it makes me feel good. Sorry!
