  1. When I was in HS I had a friend get it done. She was East Indian so had dark skin. She got a dark blue though. Don't know why that color. Anyways she got bottom and top eyeliner. It looked good on her. I didn't see it with scabs or anything and didn't really ask. I would be too scared. And I don't wear make up all the time so I wouldn't. And in fifty years if I didn't like it I'd be screwed.
  2. We met online and spent 5 years apart. We used webcams and texting and IMing. So now that we are finally together we don't take it for granted. Business is slow for him right now so we text alot while hes at work. Like "whats for dinner?" We live next door to his parents so we do stuff with them too. We like to hang out together. And we finally CAN! He also does stuff apart but we really love being with each other. And it took us a long time to get there.

In my words: It is total midwest living. We live in a new contruction area. All the homes are new. We had this house built 3 years ago. Our houses sit 15ft from each other. We live on a court with all late 20's early 30's. Most of us new each other before we moved in. So we have lots of fun on our court. We usually sit out in the summer watch the kids play and have a few cocktails. Before I lived here we lived in Chesterfield...right down the street from you and I worked in St. Charles! Weird huh!
  4. I'm glad you guys liked it! It was a great book. Don't forget we picked a new book. Snow Flower and The Secret Fan by Lisa See!
  5. Ok so I saw this on another forum and couldn't help but post it. First heres the news link about it: Lifelike dolls repel and attract - MSN News UK - news & weather and second the pictures: Angels Of Delight Nursery | Where Little Angels Become Beautiful Babies So I'm not totally sure on how they are made. Vinyl I know but from real baby pictures or premade dolls. Anyways, it kinda wierds me out! Just wanted to see what you guys thought.
  6. Ok so my neighbor...one one side is my in-laws. HAHA. But I love them. Whenever we need anything we can walk next door! The neighbor on the other side likes to stand in his backyard and shoot deer! WTF!?! He saw me and stopped. YAY! Anyways on our neighborhood. We live in Bayfield, Co. You might have to mapquest it. It's really small. Nearest to Durango, Co. I live right off the back of Mill Street (main street). The town is super small. We have ONE count them ONE stoplight. About 2 gas stations. A grocery store. A few restaurants. And thats about it. Not much exciting. It's so beautiful though. We're at about 7000 elevation. Surround by mountains. Lots of trails and beautiful mountain lakes. Very close knit. So far I like it. I realize now you said neighborhood and I said city. But I don't live in a neighborhood. Theres like 3 houses. So I gave city b/c it's about the size of your neighborhood.
  7. As a going away present from one of my nanny employers they gave me an EXPENSIVE wood jewelry box. It's beautiful and has an antique key to lock it. I use it to organize (use this loosely) my jewelry. I have no idea who made it though or where to buy it. She told me every girl needs a GOOD long lasting jewelry box. I love it.
  8. So I was just in the bathroom cleaning off labels of our wine that we bought so we could bottle our new wine we just made tonight. So I wrote down the few we liked. Rojo Granrojo Tempranilo 2005 (I have no idea what that means) it was 10 bucks Recanati Merlot (Not sure on price) Premius Bordeaux Merlot Cabernet 2005 and it was under 10 dollars Trinchero Family Merlot 2005 (Not sure on price) Barefoot Chardonnay was under 10 dollars but we used it to cook some fish and it was YUMMY! and we liked the Korbel Champagne!
  9. I did something like the flip flop exchange but it was socks. I made a post when I needed an extra person b/c someone backed out. I didn't get near the amount of socks I was suppose to. It sucked!

Thats why I picked number 2. I think your hair is thicker so it will look like jessica's.
  11. I'm allergic to certain metals. So I would agree above. My rings don't do that. But I have some rings that do. Go ask your jeweler!
  12. I love the second one! How long is your hair now. I'm thinking about doing mine but mine is almost to my waist so I think I would freak out!
  13. I don't remember what mine are but my DH buys them. I take prenatal. I also have the problem of throwing up when I take iron. But thats the one I need b/c I'm anemic. So he made me take a different kind. But then again he's the doctor so I don't listen to the explanation . I'll ask what kind he gave me so I didn't throw up.
  14. I love my husband's wine! We make wine! We also buy it and try something different each time. I'll have to go check the bottles and tell you what ones. We actually have some grapefruit wine thats being made right now. Though peeling all those grapefruit was a PITA!!!!!

When I got mine I thought of posting but I thought for sure noone here uses them! I got all excited when I saw you had one! I had trouble at first too. I think b/c we're so used to tampons! But the consensus is it takes 2-3 cycles to get the hang of it. I'm on my 3rd. I didn't have to trim the thing at the bottom. But make sure you have the right size. Also on getting it out squeeze the bottom and then kind of bear down a bit and it pushes it right out. And make sure the holes at the top are clean when you put it back in. It helps! I looked at the keeper and mooncup and read hundreds of reviews before deciding on the diva cup. But if one doesn't feel right I'd recommend trying the others. And Jessica...I also love Lunapads! They are so freaking cute. And you just throw them in the wash! They have panty liners that are thinner and super soft. I hate sposie pads they feel like diapers!

What do the "greenies" think of these Martha Stewart Collection - Macy's I want to return a few of the other items we received and get them. We did get organic cotton towells from our registry, which was super exciting! I don't know anything about that material. Sorry. But I can check with some other "greenies" I know. Personally, we use stainless steel with copper bottoms pans. The care is a little different. I don't wash them in the dishwasher. If you're just careful you're food won't stick. I love cooking so it's pretty easy. I just watch closely. But if you really want something nonstick ...off the bat it sounds good but I'd do research. B/c the nonstick eventually comes off (teflon) so its coming off in your food or when you wash. Let me see if I can find any info on the ones you're looking at. Btw...emeril has GREAT pans ETA: DId you read the reviews on the link? Some of them don't sound good.

I have heard that this is just a fact Disposable diaper companies have put out there. If you do a load of cloth diapers every few days you are still being better to the environment then if you buy disposable. That being said I will admit with my first we used cloth but since hubby is on parental leave this time we use disposable. But think of all the chemicals and waste that goes in to MAKING disposable. Of course sposie companies say its even. Its not to me. The emissions gas and runoff from those companies is way more than it would ever be with cloth.

I think it's awesome, but there's unfortunately some companies who want to profit on this trend and market themselves as "green" when they are not. So be aware of greenwashing and do your research with companies that promise green products. Some of them are not! Thanks for the reminder. And I forgot about the teflon. I hate teflon. I don't use anything that says "no stick". And I love rechargable batteries for the camera.
  19. Finally a thread! I thought of posting a spin off on the "what are you doing for your wedding". But my family calls me a crunchy hippie so I didn't. I do admit I'm kinda crunchy. I had to start slow but living in Colorado makes it so easy b/c there are alot of crunchy people here! But some things irritate me when I know people who only go green because it's "In" not because they are thinking of our earth long term. Ok rant over. Ok so our things.... *Using canvas bags for shopping. I love some cities banning plastic bags.. *No plastic bottles...again some restaurants stopping selling plastic bottles (I Love Kleen Kanteen to refill) *No paper towels (I haven't gotten as far as getting rid of toilet paper but I know some people who use family cloth!) *Eating organic and locally grown meat *Don't drink cows milk (don't know if this counts) *Our compost pile! *Our garden! YUM! *We don't eat processed foods or boxed foods ex. mac and cheese or hamburger helper *Storing food in glass instead of plastic. (Plastics leech chemicals!) *Bills online *Recycle *This one might be gross to you guys. I don't use tampons! I use a diva cup! No non biodegradable waste! SO EASY! Tampons and such don't biodegrade either and after going through the system has to be scraped off the top of the waste! DISGUSTING! *Again above if ever needed use cloth pads. *We rarely use air. We leave windows and always have our front door open. We use a water cooler. We have no central air! *Use eco friendly paint. *No harsh chemicals *Natural toothpaste *We filter our water and use pond water to water our grass and garden. *Use natural makeup products and bar soap instead of soap in plastic bottles. Including shampoo. The below are things I can't do yet but I have already discussed and researched and even bought things to do when I get preggo! *Only CLOTH Diapers. I get so disgusted by disposable diapers. Thinking of how many are in landfills and that they don't biodegrade grosses me out. YUCK! Plus those chemicals on my baby's bottom! EW! *I plan on nursing but if needed only glass bottles! *No plastic sippies. Kleen Kanteen! *ABSOLUTELY NO plastic toys or battery operated. Great websites with great wooden toys and cloth dolls and such. *Buying only organic cotton clothing (No pesticides) *No plastic swings I love the kanga hanger thinger (It's wooden hangs in doorway) *No flame retardent chemical baby mattress! I don't think this is everything but off the top of my head it is!
  20. OH SHIT! I'm an idiot! I just sent my passport stuff in a few days ago and I forgot my marriage license! WTF!?! Now what?! Any ideas?
  21. Ok MelissaH's book suggestion is Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See. I checked it out on amazon and it sounds good.
  22. Ok, so theres 33 members and I have 14 book suggestions so we're still ok but if anyone has any new suggestions and such please PM me. So first one to read this pick a number 1-14!
  23. It's still open for discussion, if you still want to discuss it. But we can also choose a new book if everyone's ready to.
  24. Just wondering if anyone was around. Are we ready to pick a new book?? It's been 12 days since any discussion on Water for Elephants.
  25. YAY! She didn't use my name! Before they reported and it was the name I want! I'm also glad to see how they said she had other children not that she "adopted" other children. I'm so excited for her!
