Hey, just wanted to share. Went to the Dallas fan event with Daniel Goddard (Cane), Thad Luckinbill (JT) and Christian Le Blanc (Michael) this past weekend, and I cannot even describe the time that was had. Some of you know, I've been working with a few others on a fan site for Daniel for this past few months..he's been great, and his rep is also a real sweetie. We videotaped a very sweet and sexy message for the site, and took TONS of pics (about 120 total). All three of the guys were INCREDIBLE..Christian is the funniest human being I've ever met, and I gained new respect for Thad...he is honest to a fault and so down to earth. Had no problem sitting down and sharing what he truly thinks about the storylines. Good things coming up for 'JT' that get him back into the spotlight with actual GOOD material this next few months, so fans of Thad should be pleased. Christian m.c.'d an auction they held for charity..ladies, I swear..HILARIOUS. He's shouting out nonsens like "Boy, get over here and let these ladies feel the merchandise!" calling people, "Boo" and talking about naked phone calls. He's too much. Me and a few friends ended up going to Denny's for breakfast Saturday morning..we're hanging out, chit chatting, talking about needing to get back to the hotel before the lunch event started..when in walks all three of the guys...looking like poster boys for hot sex. hahaha..it was great, honestly. They are ALL so very cool, sweet, down to earth, friendly, likeable...I could go on and on. Anyway, wanted to share a few..I have so many more, so if anyone wants to see, just pm me and I'll hook ya up. My friends from the web site & I with Christian...we were his "harem". Thats me on the far right in red. Thad and I after a nice chat...he is so...REAL. Thats my dog now. haha..had to convince him that I was there to see him too! He's gonna steal me away from being a Daniel groupie. Daniel & I giving each other some love...he was so happy to meet the girls from the site and so grateful and sweet...said he couldn't let go! Daniel being stupid (and I mean "silly") groaning all sexy while hugging me This is my favorite...I got down in front of him and told him to "Give me the sex heat.." and this is the look he gave me: Daniel sitting across from me at breakfast yesterday morning...again, being stupid, giving me his "Post Cereal commercial smile". He's a sexy dork. Me giving Daniel a massage yesterday morning while he signed autographs..poor boo boo was so very tired. Horrible pic of me..haha..look at my face..says it ALL. I think it felt better for me than it did for him! OK, last thing, I promise. (haha.) the oh, so sexy message we taped for the AshbysAngels.com site is here...try to ignore the gasping cooing female sounds in the background hahahaha:YouTube - Daniel's Message To His Angels

OK, so we are still 11 months out and because of that, some airlines are just now releasing fares for near our date. The latest search I did only came up with one carrier having fares listed for late April of next year and that was United....over a thousand dollars per person!!!! Someone please tell me that's likely to come down after more carriers start booking. I know, I know..the fuel prices are driving up tickets, but if this is how its going to be, I feel like NO ONE is going to come to our wedding! With accomodations, at that type of airfare price, they will be paying nearly 3K per couple just to come to our ceremony. I'm shell shocked...

Evidently its the anniversary of his father's death, and he goes to each of them individually asking for info about his dad...and all they can do is talk about how horrible the other one was while he was around. He gets fed up with it and goes off on them. Angry Cane is almost as sexy as Bedroom Cane, so I'm down with that. Alyssa- thanks for the merge!!

I can front and convince myself and a few others that my stomach is relatively flat..until I unbutton my pants. Yes, thats right..its sitting UNDER my waistband. hahaha...People are telling me its because of carrying four kids at once and the skin being stretched out, but that ain't just skin in there. Please. Thankfully, like Butlergirl and AmyH, I've learned to love myself and just optimize the good stuff instead of stressing over the bad. There are body shapers to make it look like that roll surgically removed for my wedding day, so I'm happy. -
I'm So Screwed (Gown cost)

Morgan, you remain as always, my idol. lol..you amaze me. I'm trying to convince myself to compromise and get something similar..the way it clings to the hips was initially what made me NOT want to try it on (I'm definitely more Marilyn Monroe than Twiggy and my hips will not budget regardless of what type of exercise I do). I'd been trying to stay away from dresses that were clingy below the waist. As for what I love about it..its..well, just everything. The ruching, the fabric, the embellishments...the knock off I tried on (which I'm using the term knock off for lack of a better one) was a very papery, wrinkly type..not sure what. The only reason it really reminds me of the Maggie is the silhouette and the fact that there are straps. It doesn't have draping embellishment fabric under the boobs or the train. Add to that the fact that there is absolutely no sparkle to it, and it left me cold other than realizing that I could pull off the style and be happy with how I looked. -

The dress is a Maggie, style is "Brandy". I'd have NEVER picked this in a million years..I know I've been through that site a hundred times in the last six months and I never even clicked on the thing because of the silhouette. Go figure, I try on eerily similar style and its perfect. I'm determined to find the damn thing for less than twelve. I just can't NOT try to get it, but at the same time, I just can't pay that much beyond my budget cuz something else will suffer. Funny, this came about from me trying to find ways to shave money off the budget in the first place..ironic. I'll take a look at that link, Morgan..as usual, thanks. -

You can always turn around and resell it again... As for the 'other' dress, how do you know exactly how you'll feel about that one another few months down the road. The dress I have purchased was the first and only dress I tried on... the only one that really 'jumped out at me.' I, like you, found it at a bargain price - 1/2 of the original asking price (!) but still costing $700 BEFORE alterations. I'm now wondering if I want to wear that one now at all... and we're only about 6 months out! I'm thinking it's too dressy for a DW... Decisions, decisions... If you want the other dress, go for it. Might it drop in price if you sit on it for a while? (mine did!) Good luck! Ya, thats what I'm thinking..it may drop in a few months. I'm making a decision and ordering SOMEthing by August. Thats the self imposed deadline I'm giving myself, and after that I simply am NOT looking at any other gowns or giving myself any room to change my mind. I loved the knock off I tried on, and it truly is almost an exact duplicate of the Maggie I am thinking of buying, so I know I'll love it on. I'm going to try to find a sample to try on so I can see for certain how the true dress will look and feel. Same thing happened with me, I decided that the other gown is too dressy...too traditional for a beach wedding on top of being so heavy. This one is a slim A-line and fitted, so theres a smaller train and its MUCH lighter weight. Thats a big consideration for me now. I don't plan to back out of the deal...I'm just not enthusiastic about paying for a dress knowing I'm not wearing it, hell I'm only human. But oh well..it is what it is. I just hope I can get some of my money back from it. -

I agree with Jessica, if you don't get the dream dress you may regret it. Oh, that thing is GONE the minute I can get rid of it. I'm definitely selling it right away...and at least I can advertise it as being worn only once. I know its a rare find as far as second hand, cuz I looked far and wide before finding it myself. So that will go a little way toward reducing the cost, if I can get a buyer for it I guess. -

Thanks ladies for the advice. Alyssa, I've scoured the internet...there are literally only like 5 pages of info that show up in the search engines and half of the listings aren't even for the damn thing anyway. Its just not out there. Even the twelve hundred is a reduced price...from one of the Ebay stores that order the gowns from the manufacturer for you. I trust them, cuz the they've been doing it for years and they have great feedback. So that is the best "deal" out there. haahaha..ahh, what a joke. I'm not wearing a veil, and I'm doing barefoot sandals. So thats at least a small piece of good news because I know beyond alterations, what I pay for my dress ultimately is all I will need to worry about in terms of attire. I'm just the type that likes to have things squared away, not to mention for the purposes of paying things off, I'd rather have a dress ordered and be paying for it instead of waiting til the last minute and coughing up $1200+ all at one time. Especially with the other expenses that will be going on the closer we get to D-Day. -
Finally....my dress!!

Great choice! Very flattering and beach weddingish. You look fantastic, congratulations! -
Ladies, some of you know the horrible time I've had trying to pick a gown. I found one that I honestly thought was close to being my "dream gown" a few months back. Was even lucky enough to find someone who was selling it in my size on Craigslist. I was ecstatic. But, here it is, 2 months later and I'm starting to realize why everyone always advises not to look too seriously at dresses too early. Long story short, the more I got to thinking about it, the more I wanted something really different. The dress I picked before is beautiful, and it IS different in a way, but its still a very traditional type of design..Now that I've had some time to think, and see the direction I'm really trying to go with things overall, I've decided that I want to go a less traditional route. Add to that, the gown is fairly heavy...delustered satin with lace overlay. And I'm a "shiner"...I get hot and sweaty and the first thing that happens is my face starts to melt. I was willing to try to tough it out, but the more I think about it, the less I want to be worried about sizzling all afternoon and having photos taken. Problem is, I already committed to the sale of the previous gown. Here I am, a few hundred dollars in with someone who was nice enough to let me pay half down, and now I want to back out. Am I awful? I know..I know. I'll likely just pay the whole thing off and if I don't want to wear it, oh well. I can always resell it which I'd planned to do after the wedding anyway. Its just that I tried on a dress last week, that is almost identical to a Maggie gown that I KNOW I'm going to love when I see it on. The Maggie just has more embellishments which was my only complaint with the gown I tried on last week...wished it had more "oomph" to it, and the sales girl then told me about the Maggie dress. I went online and saw it and knew it was just what I'm looking for. I feel awful about this. Wedding is already over budget, and we're still 11 months out. The gown I want to get is going to be twelve hundred dollars! I know some of you spent more than that on your gowns, but for a person who originally budgeted only $600 for my dress, this is a big kick in the gut, but I know I'll regret it if I don't get it. On top of the money I'm spending for a gown that I now know I won't wear. I cannot find the new "it" gown ANYwhere for less and don't like the idea of letting one of those overseas manufacturers do a knock off. I don't think they ever turn out quite the same. I just know FH would love seeing me in this thing, and I felt like it struck the right chord...different, yet still a wedding gown with a little sex appeal. What do I do? Sorry for the long drawn out story, but I'm rambling this morning.

What is everyone doing for the holiday weekend? (U.S. girls)
BillysBride replied to Alyssa's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
Its dreary, overcast and completely grey outside here in central IL. My FH is out of town til this afternoon, and my mom just had knee replacement surgery last week. Doesn't look like my family will be doing the usual cook out get together. We may pull something off last minute, but I doubt it. Ho hum.. -
I'm all for another accident as long as the boy gets a bump on the head and comes to his damn senses about Phyllis. I'm sorry, but that broad is a skank from WAAAY back. Don't get me wrong, Sharon is no better. Its just it irritates the snot outta me to see Nick and Phyl walking around all crazy in love when it started out the way it did. Its like they are being rewarded for being ho's. lol Only reason I watch the show most days is Lily and Cane. Love them, and if Cane gets buck-booty nekkid that day, so much the better. Unfortunately, the execs have not fully utilized that man's body...if they did, they would see an immediate ratings spike. I'm off to Dallas to snuggle up to him next weekend. hahahaha..I'll post pics when I return. I'm nothing if not sharing.

Twelve, girl I have been LOOKING all over for your wedding review! I need details, I'm dying here!!! -
OK, am I the only one that got COMPLETELY creeped and grossed out last week during that Victor/Sabrina slob fest? Holy HELL that was nasty. I was in my bed room SCREAMING...FH comes in asking "Whats wrong, whats wrong?" I just pointed to the screen. hahaha..I have never been so horrified in all my life.

We're doing it too! In my case, the only thing I was worried about was keeping the "cheese" factor out of doing it at the buffet restaurant. Luckily, our resort has three options for dining, so we're going to do it at one of the others because I simply didn't want to be moving down a buffet line in my wedding gown. They even give you a waiter to take care of your party, and do some simple decorations for your area. Only catch is that they only allow for it if you have 25 guests or less. If your party is larger than that, you have to book for a private reception. Anyway, I don't think its in poor taste at all. Especially if you are having an AHR. But either way, I think its fine. They are already in this idyllic setting having the time of their lives..no reason to go to all that extra expense as far as I'm concerned.
