  2. I understand. I honestly do..this was a big factor in our early decision making. What if you switch resorts for the honeymoon? That's what we settled on...it would give you a chance to maybe experience a different atmosphere and area. Maybe even book some place that might have been too expensive for the entire stay? Something a little more exclusive/romantic/smaller or whatever. We also figured this way, we would FEEL like we were on a honeymoon more, getting to transition from the place where we celebrate with family and friends into a different location that is just all about us "honeymooning". Dunno if that makes sense. lol..it's been a long day. Hope you guys get it worked out. That blows that people aren't stopping to think that a.) it's good to be invited before assuming anything, and b.) you guys are going to be newlyweds.
  3. Girrrrrl, you are WEARING all of them (that's hood for 'they look great on you'), but I LOVE this one! Do ya mind telling me if you remember the style/manufacturer? It's gorgeous and your figure is to die for in it!
  4. I'm an absolute Twilight junkie...it's sick, it really is. lol I'm more of a Rob Pattinson fan actually, but Twilight is a close second. The more I watch the movie, the more pissed I get. They left out way too much information that is going to be needed to make the sequels work. Not to mention, they downplayed and screwed up Edward and Bella's relationship...the way the movie played, it almost seemed like he just had an allergic reaction to the girl, took some Benadryl and got over it in two weeks. Ugh. I better stop...I get crazy. I've read all four books, pluse the unfinished fifth book the author started from Edward's perspective..it's on her web site for anyone who doesn't know about it. I also have complete pdf files for all five novels if anyone wants a book they can't find. Just pm.

  6. Oooo, I just LOVE your dress! Really different, but bridal and elegant. Nice choice. As for bm dresses, I think you could do anything! It's always nice to go with strapless when you're dress is strapless, but I don't really think there are any rules. Pick what you like.
  7. (ducking before any rotten tomatoes hit my face)...but I think that mermaid styles look BEST on women with hour glass "womanly" figures. I sometimes see them on very thin girls and think "Damn, that's not the best style for that type of body." Not that I haven't seen thinner women pull them off beautifully, but I think that style itself is made for women with a defined shape...curves. Even the "skinny" girls who look best in them have some hips and boobs. It's a very sexy silhouette and I think it looks better on a Marilyn Monroe type vs. a Kate Moss type. lol I'm a street size 12/14 and have one dress that's not really mermaid, but it's definitely fitted. I'm planning to get a second still since now I have more time and it will definitely be mermaid'esque. lol...Part of the reason why I'm looking for another one is because I think I could pull off a lil' sexier and I want this boy's jaw to drop. lol
  8. My heart and thoughts go out to you. I lost my father several years ago, and the pain is debilitating. Stay strong. So very sorry for your loss.

  10. I've met Robert Kelker-Kelly (ex-Bo, Days of Our Lives) too! lol..that's funny. He's hot. Umm...let's see, I'm also friends with Daniel Goddard. He's Cane on The Young and the Restless and now I run his official fan site for him. Very nice man. Also have met Christian Le Blanc who plays Michael Baldwin on The Young and the Restless too, as well as Thad Luckinbill who plays JT Hellstrom. Lots of Y&R folks and will probably meet more this summer since I'll have to cover some fan events for the site. I grew up knowing boxer Ken Norton...we're from the same town. Now, if I can only meet Rob Pattinson, I can die a happy woman. If I can meet him and get in his pants, I'll die happy with a smile on my face. lmao Here are a couple of pics of me with "D"..he's such a sweetie. He has a dorky ass smile in this one cuz I was grabbin' his booty..lmao. I was. I have -0-shame.
  11. OOooooh, that's so gorgeous! Sorry, gimme a minute just to drool..... OK. As for the alteration, I think Jenny is right. Ask around, see if you can't get some good recommendations from friends. I don't think the detail at the hem will be a problem, and shortening a dress is a very basic alteration so I wouldn't think it would be too terribly pricey or extensive. Nice choice!
  12. Just wondering as a bride who has had to do a complete overhaul (including the date) of her wedding plans due to how the current economic crisis has impacted our families. Three CORE people in our wedding party (and by core I mean one parent, a brother and a sister) have lost their jobs in the past six months. FH himself was laid off for three months, but is luckily back to work. Things were pretty much paid for on our end...but people that are truly important to us were sacrificing things they shouldn't to try to be at the ceremony. For that reason, we pushed it back, and I have no regrets. We are likely going to go ahead with the legal ceremony, because we want to be married sooner rather than later. But the religious ceremony isn't going to happen til next year now. We sat down, talked about what we could and couldn't live without (besides each other) and it was just way too obvious that not having his mom there was not an option. We couldn't afford to fly ANYone out...if we could, we so would. I'd have been happy with the parents alone, but it just wasn't working out. We're keeping our tickets and just going to go on a scouting trip to make sure everything at the resort is cool and get some down time. It made more sense than paying the penalties and missing out on the trip altogether. The things that I myself couldn't live without were him being happy which meant having BOTH parents there, and my island ceremony because that's my dream. Anyway, I'm just wondering how the current financial situation here in the states has impacted other couples or if it has at all. Be nice to know we aren't the only ones feeling the damn crunch.
  13. Ooooooh, if only I can build up the nerve. I'd love to, honestly. This is so close for me, so please keep us posted.

  15. Awww..Leia!! You looked AMAZING! Everything looks just gorgeous and your bridesmaids were beautiful as well. Love the elegance of your colors...congratulations MRS!!
  16. Positively stunning! You guys look like you're having such a fantastic time, I just wanna jump in and party with ya! You looked beautiful, and your pics are just gorgeous. We're actually honeymooning on Isle! Would love to pick your brain about a few things.
  17. Just wondering if anyone had done that with a wedding band. The one I am thinking of getting FH has some embellishments, but it's just too wide across the top. Other than that, it's his dream ring so I'd really like to get it for him. Here are a few pics. Its the embellishments that I'm worried about..the crosses and the diamonds. Not sure they could mess with the width and save the detailing. Auctiva Image Hosting Auctiva Image Hosting
  18. Wedding gowns DO indeed run small for a lot of designers. You aren't alone, this has happened to almost every bride I know. PLEASE don't take it as more serious than it needs to be. I know you are upset, and disappointed..I understand, I honestly do. But don't be TOO upset or disappointed. It's the nature of the bridal business, and you aren't some horrible cow. You're a normal woman, who just so happens not to be a single digit size. Keep hunting, MOST designers make their gowns in women's sizes..the full range. So don't give up or think that you're too "fat" to find a dress, that's simply not true. My gown is a 14, I love it, and it's not even close to being the largest size they offer.

  20. STUNNING! Love that lacy train..the detail looks beautiful. Can't wait for more pics! And hey, nothin' wrong with taking care of the dress early on. I've seen some panicky brides (up close and personal).

  22. There would be small claims court in that woman's future...that's all I'm sayin'.
