Which Color (parasol question)
BillysBride posted a topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
OK, so I'm so proud of my girls (BM's). I've already had three of them asking when they can deal with the dresses, so I'm trying to figure out exactly how I want things to look. My colors are Ivory, Chocolate and Gold....the dresses I'm looking at are Alfred Angelo's "Harvest Gold" color. I'm leaning toward this one:" Alfred Angelo... Find the perfect Wedding Dress, Bridesmaid Dress, Prom Dress, Flower Girl Dress or Mother of the Bride Dress at Alfred Angelo. Billy will be wearing this shirt: And all the guys will be wearing these pants (haven't decided on shirts for the other two): And here's my question. I'm looking at buying parasols NOW because the ones I'm liking or sort of different and I'm afraid they'll be discontinued or something else that happens with my luck. So...with the colors for the attire being what I'm set on....which parasol design would look better? 1.) 2.) -
OMG . . . I just had a positive home pregnancy test!
BillysBride replied to luvtoteachlaw's topic in Just venting or funnies
I'll just co-sign with the other girls here. Most women don't have a clue they are preggers til they are almost in their second month (6-8 weeks)...in the meantime, they have continued their normal lives and routines. PLEASE don't feel like you've done something to damage the pregnancy. YOU ARE FINE, believe me. As far as the wedding, I see no reason to change a thing...well, maybe your dress? I don't know. You seem confident that your FH will embrace it. Your father is your father and you love him, but you're not a child and I'm sure you can look back now and see that he got over your sister's unexpected pregnancy just fine. Do not stress over anyone's reaction but YOURS. You're mommy..you're the ball carrier (no pun intended)...seems to me that you have every intention of keeping it, so CONGRATULATIONS! (and get thee to the doc's office!) -
LMF- I had to post these cuz I think my niece-to-be looks SO much like your DS..he could be her long lost twin! Ignore the red face...let's just say that she got into something at the cookout she shouldn't have. And here she is with FH: We have a good time with her because she's only six months younger than our bunch.

I only have 1 real sister and 1 half sister...but have LOTS of cousins....enough to make 4 full baseball teams! Bummer, I don't have a pic of Zoe at work...but I do have one of Wyatt that I took at the park the other day! I'll post Wyatt's now and Zoe's later. He's BEAUTIFUL! Those ruddy lil' cheeks with those eyes! Wow..you guys make good product. lol Yea, too funny..my mom is the oldest of 16! You're right, it was so common back then. People worked the farm and had babies. lol Anthony'sGirl..your pic is showing up! I wanna see! I'm baby jonesing (and wil never do anything about it. lol) I'll just satisfy the itch looking at y'alls.

People think ours is huge just with four. I am the 7th of 9 kids, so it's no big deal to me, but still..it's always cool to know a mama who isn't afraid of having more than one or two. Here..lemme blow some baby dust your way. But its the kind that has a hold time, so you won't get it til you want it. lol

2010 Brides
BillysBride replied to leogurl's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
I had THE most frustrating conversation with the hotel wedding coordinator yesterday. She tried to tell me that while they aren't booking 2010 dates yet, we can go ahead and get started with "other details, like menu, music and ceremony location.." HUH? Why would I do that when I can't even say for sure the date we want is going to be available? I mean, I assume that since they aren't booking yet, it's OPEN and will be until they DO start booking, but...that doesn't guarantee that I'm ok planning around that date. The resort we're using is on Isla Mujeres..about 19 mi off the coast of Cancun. It's not busy, it's more laid back with lots of locals and Isla itself is on a tiny island. The resort is only considered 3 star, so it's not like it's ritzy and in huge demand, so I honestly feel pretty confident since even if they do happen to book another wedding for the same date, it's not likely there would be MORE than one. But still. Oye, how frustrating. -
Eeeeee! Love it! I am the proud mama to 3 yr old quadruplets, Meryn (pronounced Mare-in), Kellen, Nico and Layla..two boys, two girls so yup, we're all set! They were born at only 25 weeks 4 days and stayed in the NICU for a couple of months (the boys came home first within a week of each other, then the girls later)..now, all are healthy, happy and complete terrors. Most fun I can imagine, along with being the hardest and most rewarding job in the world.

MY FSIL invites herself down to spend the night at least once every couple of months...with her two children. We already have the quads, and the last thing I feel like dealing with is someone else's bad ass kids most of the time, so I always feel like saying "Umm, no thank you." but never do. It's something I'm working on. I think that there has to be a way of....letting them know that YOU have boundaries even if they don't. I'm a bad one to talk, but I know it will only get worse as time goes on. When all else fails a generic excuse is always good. People get the hint and know you're just making excuses, but it's beautiful because they can't really say anything.

So...I bite the bullet and call the resort today because I've sent multiple emails with no response. I've heard from some other brides that this is normal for this place (like so many others) so I tried to be patient, but I'm about to have the STD's designed and I'm not trying to wait any longer than necessary for an actual DATE to put on the things. After asking for an English speaking rep with my limited spanish, I am placed on hold for a few minutes (I'm not even sweating the money that's tally'ing up while I wait...hey, it's to be expected, I'm cool). Well, finally the coordinator answers (not identifying herself and once again, speaking in Spanish so I have to reiterate my request). She then says it's her, so I say that I am needing information for potentially having my wedding ceremony at the resort. I do specify that it's for 2010 and I just want to reserve the date if possible. She tells me (ofcourse) that they don't have rates for 2010 yet. I was expecting this, so again..fine. I say "Well, are you reserving dates yet?" And here's where it gets wierd. She says, "No, but we can start taking care of some of the other details like ceremony location, music, menue for the reception.." She told me she would email me the current packages (which I already found online, but anyway) and some general info. Huh? I can't secure my date, but I can talk place settings with you? lol..is it me or is that backward? I thoroughly expected to be told that we couldn't work on any DETAILS yet until closer to the date, but we could put down deposit to secure the day we wanted. Thats what I was thinking would be logical. For anyone with a 2010 wedding date, have you had trouble booking your date this way?

I just watched a "bootleg" clips of today's Canadian show. Chloe tells Cane today, it will air in the U.S. tomorrow. Poor boy is in shock...but he's about to go OFF. lol..he took the baby outside the room and asked Lily to have the nurses take her back to the nursery. Chloe told him and he didn't believe her at first, but then Billy walks in...and it's bad. He stays calm though, but I swear Chloe is acting more like "Honey, I put a dent in the car" than she lied to the man about a chlid. Ugh, I hate her.
-
Jamaica- if you recall, when they got the DNA results back, it didn't name Cane as the father..it simply said he "cannot be excluded" and that his dna was "in the matching group". There wasn't any tampering, he's a possible match because he and the father are siblings. Chloe knew that going in doing a test with only the mother's blood available, NOT the child's, there was only so much info the test could discern. She knew that with Cane and Billy being siblings, it wouldn't exclude Cane as the father...I'm still mad that Cane didn't stop and insist on waiting for a TRUE paternity test using the baby's DNA after it was born.

Dress is in - any suggestions?
BillysBride replied to fudgie's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Absolutely STUNNING! Personally? I think less will be more with this dress, so I agree with the others. The detail is so amazing, it really is enough on it's own...so some dangly earrings and you're good to go! Can't wait to see it on! -
*update* Hm....so...Cane decides to fight Billy and Chloe for custody. He has bonded with the baby and tells Jill he wants to see that she has a good life. He calls Billy an unfit parent and a narcissist. lol They both end up going to the Chancellor's to see the baby at the same time, and a physical fight ensues. Jill hates having to get in the middle of her son's, but when it boils down to it, she see's Cane as the one who always tries to do the right thing, and Billy as the flake. Chloe is petrified, thinking about all the scams and lies Cane can pull out for the court to show how unfit she is. Remains to be seen what move she'll make to try to stop him.

Anyone "Jumping the Broom"??
BillysBride replied to BillysBride's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Whew! Been a while for an update in this thread. I got my broom custom made and it's BEAUTIFUL! I'm going to try to post a pic. I figure I may do the make and take at Michael's so that I'm not running with the damn thing back and forth trying to figure out what I need or wanting to add something I don't have at home. Just easier all 'round. Here's my broom undecorated! I figure I may wind some wide ivory ribbon around the grooves in the handle, then attach the greenery/flowers around the base of the bristles. -
Love 'em both....May/December relationship so I guess maybe it didn't have a chance. Well, at least not at their life stages (she's 19, he's 31) 'Heroes' stars Hayden Panettiere, Milo Ventimiglia split

BillysBride replied to lmg970's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Run woman, run! ...glad to hear the good news. Sorry you had to go through hellish turmoil to get the end result, but hey..all's well that end's well, right? Can't wait to see. -

I believe that I sweat more than is typical/normal, especially on a few places of my body (oddly, not really my armpits), but I am sooooo afraid about my face. I sweat profusely on my upper lip and forehead (I've always been that way) and I will sweat on my upper lip if it's 78 degrees out. You can imagine what that does to my makeup. I also sweat an unusual amount on my back (why it's so strange) so I think I will definitely try the spray on antipersperant there. I've never been motivated to do anything about it until now. I don't want my wedding pictures to look awful. You and me both, sister. I'm actually hyperthyroid (my body's engine is revved up too high) so I am hot ALL the time anway unless I'm just freezing cold. No in between. I've worried about the same thing in regards to my pics...but loving the idea of the anti perspirant. NO WAY would I use it on my face...I'm thinking that would be a very, very bad idea. lol But I think it should do the trick nicely for everything else. No different than deodorant body spray that used to be so popular, y'know? Something that DOES help me though? Ice. I chew it constantly for about twenty minutes BEFORE I have to be outside for something and it cools down your core so much that your body takes longer to overheat in the high temps. I'm going to have a big glass of it in our room before coming down for the ceremony, and grab some the minute we're done so I can chomp away before we do more pics. I'm gonna try the Drysol too! Here's a link to buy it direct and they do have the concentration for faces! http://www.buydrysol.com/
