I had a one of my bridesmaids ask me something this morning that I hadn't considered. She wanted to know if I was sending std's (I just crack up even typing that the way it sounds) to everyone in the wedding party, even though I've sent/given them "Will you be my.." cards. I just assumed I would/should. I hadn't thought about not sending them to everyone, but the way she put it made me sort of second guess the expense. It's not a LOT of money by any means, but still..we have a fairly large wedding party so it could end up being $50-60 saved. In my world, that can buy other stuff, so I may be biased. lol Anyway, I KNOW I'm sending formal invites to the wedding party. I just can't see not doing that. But...did you send std's to your wedding party? This may be a stupid question, I dunno. She just made me question it.

What about having an "informal" reception/cocktail hour? You could set up hors d'oeuvres and serve pitchers of drinks both alcoholic and non. That's a way to cut costs down..just offer a couple of different kinds of each and let guests help themselves. It would help knowing the type of ceremony/setting you're going to be having. I absolutely think you can put something affordable together without spending much. I'm a budget bride myself and refuse to spend thousands on anything that can be done for less.

I was just going to ask what size you need it in? That would help..I like to dress search, so as long as you don't mind it being second hand/pre-owned, we may be able to come up with one.

Resort photogs sort of get a bad rap:) I have no experience, but I know in most instances, a reputable independant photographer seems to be preferred. I think you should ask for a sample of the resort photog's work so that you can compare it with Sascha's. I contacted him a few months ago and really considered using him, and would have if I hadn't gotten a larger package/deal at a great rate with someone else. He's good as far as I can tell and was very prompt with his responses to me.

She's your mom..ofcourse you want her there and its your wedding so you should invite them both and TELL each of them you are doing so. If only for YOUR sake they should be willing to grin and bear it and I'd tell them as much when I talked to them. Sounds like your aunt won't be a problem, but seriously talk to your mom and let her know that you aren't willing to negotiate on either of them being present. You're her baby....she should want to make you happy on your wedding day.

We're doing a cake and champagne toast then a simple dinner in the hotel restaurant. If your wedding is at an AI, then chances are they have something to include a "reception" dinner along with the package as an add on or sometimes even free if you've booked all inclusive.

We're doing a welcome dinner the night before as well. I figure anyone whose coming will be there by then or they just "ain't" gonna make it anyway. We're having a buffet dinner set up at one of the restaurants in town. The resort where we're having the wedding is on it's own seperate little island connected to the main town by a walkway so we'll just meet up with everyone in a central location and walk as a group across the bridge.

I had an idea this morning... Since our ceremony location has a couple of steps, what if I have the broom placed at the base of the last step and we jump as we descend? It can maybe be incorporated into more symbolism with the reading...since we'll both cross up and into the gazebo as single people but when we come out ...we jump into our new lives as one? Is that cheesy? I'd have to work on the wording .... Here's our ceremony location. There is the tiniest step at the very bottom..I figure the broom could be under that?

Awwww!! SO happy that FI reacted like the man he is obviously! You got a good one there and you guys are going to be FABULOUS! DO yourself a favor and don't research too much before seeing your doc. Believe me, it will just drive you crazy and you don't need the stress. I know it's hard..just stay positive, and expect things to be absolutely perfect. CONGRATULATIONS!

Sir Nico...this is my all time favorite of his. He's so fat he looks stuffed. Meryn...sleeping at Nan's house... Layla a.k.a...Buddha Baby...ooh, the cheeks that girl had. And their first Christmas....at Gran's house...(ignore the stacks of laundry in the background lol) Oooh, the baby weight I had on me. Kellen...about 10 months.. I love my sissy!
