Ooooo, I'm on it!! Thanks! I stumbled across some videos at Expert Village. A professional make up artist that does a lot of work with AA models and stars..she has a list of recommendations for wedding day makeup supplies for black women. I'm slowly but surely going down the list with web sites. The down side is that a lot of the stuff is not available in my area, so I'd have to do trial and error with either buying samples to be delivered or the actual products themselves. Could get pricey...dammit. Anyone, check out her page...she has quite a few videos. Amanda Backensto - Expert | ExpertVillage VideosShe did say that yes, pricier is, unfortunately, better. lol But hey, at least she didn't toss the names out there like it wouldn't matter to people. The list of suppliers she recommends for African American skin tones is: Nars- NARS Cosmetics YSL/Yves St. Laurent- YSL Beauty US by Yves Saint Laurent – Official Online Store Georgio Armani- Giorgio Armani | Cosmetics and Perfumes official online shopping experience - US only Chanel- Chanel.com - Parfums & Beaut I'm really leaning toward trying the Nars...I like the selection and the products seem ideal for GOOD coverage that is lightweight and breathable...damn Mexico heat is not gonna be jokin. lol There's also an Armani liquid that I really want to try. Just those two will take me to about $100 then the primer...lol. Ya..I think I'll be done, whether I like 'em or not.

Here is a link to one of his pbase galleries. I went looking because I wanted to see more of his work than what is on his web site...gold mine! He really is good. I think he's less expensive more because he isn't as well known...in another couple of years, he'll be just as pricey as the rest. lol The Ceremony Photo Gallery by Ivan Luckie at pbase.com

The plan is to have her do the install and have my stylist cut and style the hair before we leave for Jamaica. Heres a picture of her sew in that she did on Saturday, in our hotel room, herself...lol! OK, to be able to do your own sew in? HOLY weave goddess, that girl is the stuff for real. Gotta be! And does it WELL too... What style are you going with? On a side note, I'm beginning to wonder if we need a make up thread. I went into the one posted here tonight and got COMPLETELY discouraged when two out of the four "best" brands that the ladies are talking about don't carry foundations anywhere near what could be used for black skin. I'm gonna need to find something that will wear well and look naturual in pics. What do you guys think?

Can I TDD in this?
BillysBride replied to Vikki's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I definitely think "poofier" looks better for TTD's! You want something that is gonna fan out and look amazing floating in the water. Definitely a thumbs up on that dress! -

Photographer ~ Mark Romine
BillysBride replied to Mark Romine's topic in Destination Wedding Vendor Marketplace
Hi Mark! Wanted to drop a line seeing as how I'm from Springfield...my fiance is actually from Bloomington/Normal. We head up that way quite often still since it's only about an hour away and most of his family is there. Look forward to seeing some of your work and hearing more about you. Welcome to the board! -
what do you like to see? - feedback request
BillysBride replied to BN Fotografia's topic in Random Thoughts
I'd say (from a bride's point of view) that I'd lean more toward a combination. But with the emphasis being on weddings. It's always good to see at least a small sample of EVERYthing that a photographer is capable of, beyond weddings, but I think a bride will always want to see as much wedding work as possible. So definitely, I'd say a combination but accentuate the wedding work. -
