I have posted pics of my wedding dress (by Venus Bridals, bought it in Edmonton at a store that had customized the lace up back) and my bridesmaid dresses (bought at Le Chateau) in these threads (links below), you may have to dig through for my posts, LOL, but it will be fun as I love looking at all the wonderful dresses everyone picked out for themselves! Wedding dresses: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ing-dress.html Bridesmaid dresses: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...s-dresses.html I have yet to see Fort Mac myself but I think it would be interesting to check it out and see the famous oil sands! Hopefully some day! I couldn't find your dresses!! Can you recall which page they were on? I'm sure you're wedding dress is beautiful, because I love everything in Venus Bridal. Let me know if you ever visit Fort Mac! Would you believe I've lived here a year and a half and I still haven't toured the sites? You need someone from out of town to encourage me to do these things! Talk to you soon, Cherie

  5. Hi Jmhein! I am currently living in Fort McMurray, but am originally from Calgary (which I dearly miss!) GP's not too far. I work for the Health Region and usually have to fly across the province to work in High Level. Sometimes our charter sets down in GP to pick up passengers I would love to post pics, but I won't be going for my fitting until the middle of October. My dress is made by Mori Lee and so far I haven't been able to find it online. My BM dresses are from Venus bridal. How are things going for you? Do you have any pictures of your bridal dresses?

If you can't find it, let me know and I can email it to you. Let us know what else you need help with!!! Thanks Lizz! I really appreciate if you could send me the free menu. I'll PM you my email address (once I figure out how!). I'll then pass it on to my MIL. She is a travel agent and previously booked a large wedding party at the ROR last winter. Hopefully her connections will help smooth this whole process and make things happen when we get there! Do you remember the bride who was putting together a little booklet? I would be so interested in obtaining one, if she would be ok with that. Would you have her contact information? Having this forum is a godsend!

But if you would like me to take pictures when I am there I would be happy too. Just email me to remind me, I will send them to you when we get back. For any of the other Brides if you would like pictures of something just let me know and I will be happy to have more reasons to take more pictures...lol Just let me know what you guys want... Thank you everyone for your welcome! Jerzzygirl, I would really appreciate pictures of the Plantation restaurant. I was under the impression the Plantation had two levels to it. I wonder why Chandlyn quoted us $50 a head, when I would rather have the included menu! We'll have to contact her. Does anyone know where to get deep colorful bouquets off site? I'm not a huge fan of carnations. Also, are all the cakes they make vanilla or chocolate sponge cakes with rum in them? That is the impression I have received so far. Ok, I have to talk a "little" about the wedding plans please As of today, we have 54 confirmed guests. Most of them are on my side because all of my family are coming in from Western Canada, and seats tend to be limited. My FH's family are all from the Toronto area and flights leave daily from there, so they are taking their sweet pea time booking! Grrr! The night before the wedding we are having the rehearsal at 6 pm and reserving dinner at Mammee Restaurant for the bridal party, their spouses, and our parents (probably about 20 ppl). Then the next day my girls, mothers, and I are spending some of the day at Renova Spa getting massages, pedicures, manicures, and bridal hair styles. All these treatments are gifts to my bridal party from myself to thank them for being part of this amazing day. Our wedding is planned for 4:30 pm. I actually wanted it later, like when the sun was exactly setting...but my FH wanted pictures after the ceremony. As it is, I think time will be tight! Our color is Ice Blue. I love it matched with tan linen. My FH looks amazingly hot in his outfit!!! He looks like Tubbs off of Miami Vice...lol, I think I'm dating myself! He has dark coloring with a tan linen suit and white linen shirt *sigh*. My bridesmaids are all dressed in beautiful ice blue, tea length, summer dresses. After the ceremony, we are having cocktail hour until we have dinner reserved at the Plantation Restaurant at 6:30-8:30. The disco is reserved from 9:00-11:00 pm. That is where we'll do the first dance, speeches, other fun stuff! That's it! I'm very very excited! I would say I'm sorry I rambled on....but I would be lying I look forward to hearing from you all! Cherie
  8. Hello Ladies, I have been following your posts for the last few days and itching to get on here! It took me until today to be approved. I am thrilled to be getting married at the ROR on January 17th, 2008 at 4:30 pm. I just started planning, and thanks to many of your posts have a general idea of what I would like for my beach wedding. You all have great ideas! I was worried when I read many of you are getting married in May 2008 and already have your venues picked out. That's when I called my travel agent (aka. mother-in-law-to-be) and put a fire under her butt! I do have some questions about the Plantation Restaurant and would love to gather some anwers from you all. Chandlyn told my MIL (mother in law) in order to book it for two hours at $250 each hour, it will also be $50 per person for the dinner? Is this true? I recall someone posting an included menu (I believe it was Lizz) that was no charge. Also are any of you being specific about which level you are holding your dinner? Upstairs or down? I would appreciate any input. I'm so happy I've found people to chat with about my wedding! I think everyone else around me has tuned out I'm looking forward to hearing from you all! Cherie
