  1. I got the GM's these shirts from bananarepublic.com Modern Apparel, Handbags, Shoes, and Accessories | Banana Republic
  2. The photos and your dress were beautiful! Those are my colors exactly and they looked so great in your wedding! Was there any hiccups at all? How much did it cost for the chair covers and sashes?
  3. Hey All, So I was wondering if any of you had a problem with the 80-20 rule there or if you were fine in terms of number of guests. I have family in jamaica and I am afraid I might end up over the 20%. Anyone have any recco's on what I should do? Thanks!
  4. I am getting married at ROR in August also and I got my GM's short sleeve shirts from Banana Republic that looked beachy (Modern Apparel, Handbags, Shoes, and Accessories | Banana Republic) I know how hot it can get in jamaica during august so I wouldnt dream of putting Joe in a suit!
  5. Congrats! I love the pics! You gave me a lot of great ideas!
  6. Grats hopels, would you happen to have contact information for TPG other than the phone number on their website (maybe an email)? Did they send you any catalogs or price lists? I have family members who want to do the flowers for me and this would help a great deal. Great find by the way!
  7. I say go with Riu! I was looking into the Breezes resorts also but was having trouble finding information on how weddings went. If you honestly cant find any information at all about Breezes, you dont want to be let down when you get there. Besides, there are so many people here having the wedding at Riu that you will be more than aware of what possible pitfalls could happen (but reading the posts, it looks like with Riu disappointment is few and far between!)
  8. I would definitely not reccommend packing chocolate in your checked luggage to go to Jamaica. You may be able to pull off m&m's in you carry on but you would have to put it on ice immediately. I have a lot of family in jamaica and have had many a mishap as a kid with chocolate on the way there. In terms of other snacks as long as you dont look like you are trying to feed someone there (a la rice, ketchup, etc...) you should be good with getting into the country. honestly, most times I tell them I have nothing to declare and go right through, and I am jamaican!
  9. We are booked in the jr club jacuzzi suite for the whole stay since we decided to go with the free package.

  12. Thanks for posting the pic! I was wondering what the restaurant looked like as well.
  13. The plantation restaurant rental is just for the rental not for the dj or bar. If I remember correctly it is 150 p/h for the dj and 10 pp for an open bar instead of the standard wine and beer bar. I would definitely recommend making sure it is available for your date though! And if so ask for it, even temporarily!
  14. I have a minimum of at least 75 guests showing up for the wedding and I was just told that the plantation restaurant is booked already for a 200 person wedding. Anyone have any ideas? The wedding is on a friday next august and have no idea what to do. I also dont think that I can afford to pay 50 dollars extra a head to have it at the pool or beach and if I remember correctly isn't there a beach party on Friday nights?
  15. Congrats! and great pictures! ROR is so gorgeous and so was your dress! Thanks for the detailed review. Its good to know Chandlyn will try to be as helpful as possible.
  16. Hey All! How are you guys doing it? What is your motivation? I am on sparkpeople too and I find it easy to track my food intake but I cant seem to exercise. I work from 9 to 6 and have a hour and a half commute each way and feel so tired when i get home. What do you guys recommend to get my butt into gear? Other than thinking of myself in that white dress of course! ill probably join the sparkpeople group also.
  17. OMG Mo! Thank you so much for posting this. I was procrastinating putting info like this up on the website but seeing what you wrote makes the ideas flow! Thanks!
  18. Oh wow! Thank you all so much!
  19. Hi All, Firstly I want to thank you guys for being so diligent on this board! It helped me to fully decide on ROR for my wedding next August! But I do have a few questions on ideas, and if anyone could help me out that would be great. I was thinking of doing the free ceremony with a semi private dinner and then rent out the disco for a few hours. How are the semi private dinners? Do they do a good job on sectioning wedding guests away from regular diners or should I opt for a private dinner? How much per hour is renting out the disco? Do you have any advice on what I should watch out for in the planning stage? Also maybe anything that I should make sure to make perfectly clear to Chandlyn and Nekeisha? Thanks So Much!!! --Melissa
