A mother of a conundrum (rant and a cry for help)
jean-marcus replied to Tara's topic in Random Thoughts
holy moly... this does sound like a conundrum... its not like you really cant ask her NOT to come and if she does come its not like you can raelly control her. i guess the only thing you can do is to pick a moment where you can talk to her and she is sober and explain your concerns. maybe she gets pissed and decideds to not come just to spite you and then that problem is solved, or maybe she will realize your concern and really try and control herself while she is there, or maybe she will make you a cake after realizing all you have done for her... IN WHICH CASE im coming over cause i love cake... there really isnt an easy way around this situation but i hope it all works out and that your wedding is WONDERFUL one thing though to think about is that all those experiences you had to go through in life has most likely made you the person you are today and made you that much stronger of a person -
I think that I’m going to explode if I don’t get this out…

actually order is important... you want to start out doing all the photos that are the "cleaner" and "dry" ones first. each location is different but kind of map out a head of time the possible shots and figure out which ones to do first. you dont want to start out rolling around on the beach and in the water or running through the palm trees or wahtever if you are going to want to do some ones where your hair is nicer or dress is dry also. other then that really the only real trick is to have as muuuuch fun as possible. there are no bad ideas in a TTD shoot. just play around and get lost in the moment and try and be as creative and fun and unique as possible

I need some help!
jean-marcus replied to JenniferSS's topic in Sandals, Beaches, and Royal Plantation Resorts Weddings
well look at you.. you're great. and pushing to allow outside photographers isnt something id be opposed to hehehe -
use the little rocket blaster to lightly puff air at the sensor but dont put the nozzle past the lens mount. when you are using it give the blaster a few pumps to get anything out of the nozzle that might be in there... plus try to do it in a fairly clean room so you dont just blow more dust into there. try and never touch your sensor if you can. as for the lens the finer the thread count the better. they have lots of lens cloths . use those. give it a little shake beofre wiping the lens. and dont press too hard

hahaha. okay okay. so two nights ago i had one of the strangest dreams and i knew everyone in this thread would LOVE it because it ties in nicely .... so i woke up yesterday morning thinking i had just had one of the funniest and strangest dreams i had had in a wile. (not the weirdest because i have some weeeeirrrdd dreams) anyways. so in my dreams im at a beach resort playing paintball with my friends and the paintball guns are horrible because they are home made. all of a sudden the resort is a 7th grade camp and all my friends turn into like little kids... then my friend kenny turns into ZACK MORRIS from SBTB. so not that i think that is weird or anything but all of a sudden zack pulls out a little box and pulls out two rings and starts to propose to me AND I SAY YES... now the little "this is weird" alarms start going off in my head but i keep dreaming. im thinking this is so weird why is zack morris proposing to me. he is a guy and im a guy and why am i not zack morris because everyone in high school called me zack morris because i was the preppy guy with the perfect blond hair haha... then im thinking "hey why am i not proposing to kelly kapowsky?" so in my dream we are looking at the two rings and we cant figure out which is the engagement ring and which is the wedding ring so we just guess because they both looked the same. then i start thinking "what am i gonna tell my parents? how am i going to tell them im engaged to zack morris? i know my sisters would love it but my parents will think its weird... finally i just realize it is way to weird to be true and i wake up AND OF COURSE saved by the bell is on tv because i fell asleep with the tv HAHAHA

Tell us something interesting about your neighborhood...
jean-marcus replied to Alyssa's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
i live in this really crazy part of town where different cultures cross paths.. dont take this as racial just trying to explain where i live. i seriously tell people that where i live is where compton meets vietnam. if you go one street up from mine up the ill its asians and one street down its predominantly black.. i live three blocks up from martin luther king drive and then 4 blocks down from beacon ave which has vietnamese karaoke, chinese grocery stores, and japanese restaurants... I LOVE IT... i can walk down and get some amazing bbq or walk up and get some awesome sushi... plus my view of the mountains and the lake from my hill is amazing... -
congrats ont he engagment... were you expecting it?

thank god they are finally getting rid of it... trans fats is such a horrible thing... just cause its says 0 TRANS FATS you gotta check to make sure its not per serving cause they can legaly say taht if its less then a gram per serving and the serving might not be very big either so if you eat a normal portion it might be 2-3 grams of it. now they need to boycott high fructose corn syrup as well. that is just directly stored as fat because you cant break it down well because your body sees it as a chemical not a sugar

I think I would get flirtier/sexier pictures with a man behind the camera. I would be able to "get into character" a little better, and as Jean Marcus pointed out, a man knows what another man would like to see. ive had models tell me that they had pictures turn out better simply because they were able to get into it more with a male photographer because you start getting this chemistry going during a shoot and working off the energy. especially if you're flirty by nature like that its just going to bring it all out in the photos and they are gonna turn out great

EWWWW CREEPY

heres my feeling on this... and this might sound kind of weird but maybe its helpful... now take a hypothetical male and female photographer and assume they are completely equal in photographic skills (and neither of them are weird or creepy and really easy going)... who to go to? Pros going with a woman: 1. as a woman you are definatly going to feel more comfortable doing a shoot like that in front of a woman. GRANTED.. given.. no questions about that.. its like going to a male ob/gyn. (of course my dad was one and all his patients loved him so there are exceptions haha) 2. a guy might end up being a total creep.. trust me. ive meeting plenty in my day and gives the rest of us a bad name. Pros with going with a male photographer: 1. I kind of feel (as a male) that I have an understanding of whats going to be a great photo for him. I would know what he will enjoy and a woman of course will make some great photos 2. As a straight guy theres this attraction towards women and wanting to photograph them. I don't think id be able to photograph a shoot like that for a man as well as i do for a woman because i dont have the passion there to do it. you have to be passionate about what you are shooting and i just find the beauty in a woman more then a man (thank god im not gay, but if i was, then perhaps this advice would be layed out differently hahaha). Hope that doesnt make me sound creepy or anything because its strictly about the images captured. if i saw a woman in her underwear id think "wowww hot woman in her underwear" BUTTTT if you put a camera in my hand all of a sudden i think "wowwww hot woman in her underwear im gonna photograph her like this and like that because that could make for some awesome photos". its really strange how my mentality changes when im doing a shoot. and im sure others can back me up here. i think it comes down to passion in the end with those types of photos. wedding photography wise its even playing field.. and im not saying that women wouldnt shoot the hell out of a boudoir because i know tons of female photographer friends of mine that shoot some awesome pics.. but maybe im on this view point because it wouldnt be something fun for me as much to shoot some guy rolling around in his underwear and tryign to come up with sexy shots of that. i guess my mind doesnt work as well that way hahaha. well now that ive wasted everyones time with my ramblings ill end it with disregard everything ive just said. i just shot a wedding and im tired and even though i should just not reply to this post and delete what ive just said maybe just maybe it would help someone out.. somewhere.. in a nut shell.. pick the photographer you feel most comfortable with because in the end thats what is going to make the best photos. if you're not comfortable then they wont be as great THE END hahaha
