I was told by my WC that you can't book locations until at least 6 months before... What has been your experience? Thanks for your help! Deciding on a date has been my biggest challenge as well. But finally I'm set with a date now too. I haven't chosen many of my wedding things yet either cause I'm so undecisive. So right now I'm just kind of collecting ideas from this wonderful forum. Who is your WC at EDR? They probably only said that because locations can drastically change between now and your wedding. Especially ceremony sites. For example, I wanted to get married at the Casita's Gazebo, but can't now because my WC has told me that the ocean washed it up, unfortunetly . I have been working with Valeria, she is wonderful and really helps you at narrowing your decisions. In the mean time just absorb as much info as you can until your ready to decide. Happy Planning!

EDR 5/16/08 wedding review and-with PICS:)
Dreamgirl08 replied to shannon's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
I'm so glad to hear that your wedding was so perfect, you have me wanting to see more pics. Thanks for your excellent review. I can't wait to share in your excitement soon too! -
Excellent, thanks for the heads up with their menu. In regards to the menus, how exactly are they presented to guests? Is it just a piece of paper that's handed to them? By the way, I didn't see the the salmon ceviche as one of their options on either the starters or soups..?? Did your daughter maybe ask for it on her own? Also, I guess this is a silly question, but what drink options are they given? Thanks for your help

Thank you so much for this.. Maybe the Pasta is the best, your right. I'll have to check with FI on the other options. By the way, who takes care of the final menus to be presented to guests at dinner? {Free Dinner & Private} I was thinking I had to work on these once everything is decided on. Is this so? Also, were these "demonstrations" you say, for you or others around you? My guestlist is now looking more like 30-35 people. How accomodating would you say Fuentes would be in our case? I would consider Cocotal, but I've heard their food wasn't all that great..What are your thoughts on this? Thanks in advance,

I need help deciding on our food choices...WC, Valeria & I have discussed it somewhat, but things still seem unclear. I'm thinking of having our free welcome dinner at Fuentes the night before the wedding. That would be on a Saturday. Does anyone know what the menu is like there on Saturdays? Also, I can't seem to decide on the 3 course meal that I'm thinking of having at Tucanes. Anyone have any suggestions..??

Thanks for your help guys. Unfortunetly, they only have one bridal store that carries that dress in Illinois. I really don't want to have to go all the way out there just to try it on. But maybe my Maid of Honor & I can take a road trip soon. Oh well, if not I'll def. get it 2 sizes bigger online. Thanks so much for the feedback.

Hey everyone, So today I think I might have found my dream wedding dress while searching online. The only problem is how will I know what size to buy?? I wear a size 12on a day to day basis. I know many brides on here purchase their dress ONLINE, but my question is what if when I get it, it turns out to be too small or too big, Then what? Will a nearby Bridal Salon such as David's Bridal do alterations for me, you think? Also, I was wondering, what about the length of the dress?? I'm not sure what to do Please Help.

Hey, my wedding coordinator just got back to me today and confirmed that yes in fact EDR's photographer policy has changed. It is now a $500.00 fee ONLY. No additional 3 night stay. In my case, I have my photographer driving in from outside of the Riviera Maya, therefore I have to book her a room for my wedding. But at least now for me that means $500.00 + 1 night stay. Not so bad I guess.

Then you just cash out and they will send you a check or you can get it direct deposited into paypal account if you have one. It great if you don't need alot of household items and your registry is small. That is why we did it. People thought it was a great idea for the shower. Great, o.k than maybe we'll consider it too. It really does seem like a nice alternative to a gift registry. Especially since we couldn't imagine owning anymore cooking appliances, which I never even end up using anyway, thanks for your post. Congrats to you by the way, Your day is so close. How exciting!!

We were also planning on having around 30 guests........now it looks like we will only be having 13 (including David and I). Which also means if we don't have the minimum of 16 guests we won't be able to have our private events either. AHHHHHH! We have included everything wedding related to our budget, such as flight, hotel, wedding bands, photography, flowers, dress, groom's attire, decorations, etc. Please let me know if this is the average cost of a wedding at EDR (even with our small guest list). I'm seriously looking at changing resorts, which I DO NOT even want to think about at this point! Please help! I don't have anything to budget yet, but we're also working with a 15,000 dollar budget limit, and plan on having 25-30 guests. I keep telling myself not to buy anything for the wedding unless "IT" will be "IT" if you know what I mean. FI has warned me about this..lol And about the # of guests, well I don't think it ever turns out to be exactly as what you expected. We're kind of concerned about that too.

OMG..!! I must be dreaming. BLESS YOU TAMMY This photography issue needed SERIOUS ATTENTION. I've been through way too much nonsense with this topic to have to deal with even more nonsense. I'm totally excited once again to be getting married at EDR . I really hope they keep their word. This is such great news, thanks so much.
