  1. I LOVE both of those!!! I agree with the other girls though that you should really try it on. I ordered a dress online and when it come it fit HORRIBLY (and I gave them my measurements!!) so now I have 2 dresses b/c I went and bought another b/c I hated how the first one fit....anyone want to buy a dress??!! LOL!!
  2. Hi and Welcome!! You'll find LOTS of stuff to help you out with anything here!! I am also a Ocean Blue bride...getting hitched at the resort on April 24th, so not long before you (I may still even be there by the time you arrive, lol)
  3. Both are nice but I prefer #2..i'm not a big greenary fan, lol.
  4. I am having a AHR too when we get back in our hometown. We are having a cocktail style party that will start at 8:00 at night so it can run into party time at the local Bar and Grill. It is a really nice place that is really new. I am doing minimal decorating. Myabe just cover the tables with white cloths and putting my turquoise colored starish plates on them with a candle in it. I may also buy a few fake palm trees and add white lights to it because it will be at night so the candles and white lights will look nice. We are having the staff go around serving appetizers for a couple of hours while everyone is having a drink and mingling. For entertainment we are going to have a video of the wedding playing on the projector style screen they have there and maybe a couple of words from a couple of people and a toast and just go around saying hi to everyone. By 10:00 we will let it be open to the public again (it is a small town so we know everyone anyways) and there will be a DJ or band starting to play around 10:00. Hope this helps a little
  5. My invites to the wedding in Dominican opens with "Near the turquoise sea, on soft white sand we take the plunge, hand in hand…" so on our invites for the cocktail recpetion we are having in our hometown when we get back will say "Near the turquoise sea, on soft white sand we TOOK the plunge, hand in hand…" then something like..please come celebrate with us..........
  6. Any of you guys found any samples of the resort photographers pics? I dont know what I am going to do about a photographer yet because it is SO expensive!! I have a friend that was going to do it (who is a GREAT photographer) but is having a baby very very soon so is not sure now if she is going to make it...
  7. I am getting married at the Ocean Blue. Any advice or opinions about the resort you could share with me? Thanks.
  8. I actually saw them at Michaels craft store first for $49.99 a box (for 40) then one day I saw the exact same ones at the dollar store, of all places!!! They were $10.00 a box so I bought one box but then ran out. When I went back to the dollar store they had a 75% off sale on wedding stuff, so I got all my invites for about 15 bucks!!! They are DIY ones so I just pasted the starfish pic in the template and typed in the info...really easy!!
  9. Here is my EXTREMELY (and cheap, lol) simple starfish invitations
  10. Its a Sophia Tolli. Thanks, i'll check those sites. Hopefully it'll go on sale soon. I want it in white and the white one has clear/silvery beads on it instead of the red that it is in this pic. Sophia Tolli - Product Details
  11. lets see if posting a pic works this time....these are the plates if you can actually see the pic.
  12. That sucks. I agree with the everyone else that you should send it, even if they dont plan on going, b/c they are family.... I kind of had a similar situation where everyone was so gung-ho to go when we first mentioned it until the invites were sent out. My sis, who is also my MOH, also called me selfish at one point for choosing a DW b/c it was too expensive....but i told her she was not being forced to go.....
  13. I'll try to post a picture of the plates when I get home. Though i'm not sure how to post a pic. I tried to post a pic of my diy invitations but it didnt work.
  14. Man, all such great stuff!!! I'm also doing a starfish theme. I already have the turquoise colored starfish plates. I am going to use those on the tables with a little sand in each with a coconut tealight. At least I can use them again later at our cocktail reception that we are having when we return home.... beacuse really where am I going to use 10 starfish plates again, lol!! I love the little starfish with the names on them and the diy starfsih napkin rings..think i'll try that idea...
  15. unfortunately i'm seem to have no clue how to add a pic of it here with my post??..still new to this...
  16. I did my own invites as well. We originally got free ones from our travel agent for booking with them but they weren't that great... so i bought my own do-it-yourself kit, which I saw at the craft store for $49.99 per box but bought at the dollar store for, dare I say......$10.00 for first box and $2.50 for the second!!! They are plain but I think cute...much better than the ones from agency...
  17. The Ocean Blue is in Punta Cana............... and no, I dont have a theme anymore than it being a beach wedding (so i guess thats the theme, lol)
  18. Hi alll, we're getting married at the Ocean Blue Golf & Beach Resort on April 24, 2008. Anyone with any advice or pictures or anything let me know. My biggest dilemma right now is what favors to get for our guests....
