  1. I think it depends if you already know which vendors you want. If that's the case, you may be able to just use the hotel's WC. For Dreams, if you are going to just use their WC, I suggest you go w/ Marianna. A good outside WC is Maye Cortinas (very organized, professional, easy to work with...). Her services are $675 for 2008. I'm not sure aboutt he Sheraton...b/c I am getting married at Dreams. Suzanne Morel is going to do my hair and make up. I also heard Mex Sun is good. This forum has so much info, especially about Cabo, it won't be hard to know who you want as vendors. Check out the wedding reviews.
  2. Welcome and happy planning!
  3. Congratulations and welcome! Sounds like you're going to have an awsome wedding!
  4. Welcome to the forum! 1. Elaine & Rich 2. 08.08.08 3. Cabo - possibly Riu or Dreams With the target being 08.08.08 (only approximately 8 months from now), we would appreciate any ideas or suggested links to threads that anyone has to share. We've never even helped planned anyone else's wedding so basically we have zero experience regarding this. More specifically, topics regarding the following: 1) travel agents :I'm using Tammy (host) as our TA. She is awsome...very easy to work w/, nice, and she gets the best prices!!! 2) planning tips for family/friends coming from different locations:B]I have people coming from the bay area, sac, San Diego, and NY. I have a wedding website that has detailed info for them. i also plan on sending out a newsletter filled w/ info next year for all the internet challenged people. There's a ton of threads on the forum regarding this topic.[/b] 3) obstacles to avoid: In terms of planning my DW, nothing. It's our families that are complaining that it's expensive, and my mom who wasn't too wild on me not having a Catholic wedding. She'll get over it. 5) paperwork needed: It depends if you're having a legal or smbolic ceremony. If it's legal, there's stuff you need to do like get your blood drawn. If you're having a symbolic ceremony, then you just have to show up the day of!
  5. Welcome! Your wedding is coming up soon, let us know if we can help!
  6. The dress really flatters you! I like it especially b/c it's so unique. Awsome choice!
  7. Although I've never been to Riu, just from reading threads on this forum, I think it may be a better choice for you if you want to party. Dreams has a good mixture of age groups, but mostly families and couples. When we were there earlier this month, there was a wedding w/ over 100 people in attendance, most of them were in their 20s, early 30s. We knew something was going on, b/c the vibe changed...but it was a good thing, they were fun! Dreams also has a nightly excursion to the clubs at night. of course I'm partial, since I chose Dreams, but I loved that resort. The weddings I saw there were well put together and organized. The grounds are beautiful. The food was pretty good for an AI. I din't feel like I was surrounded by spring-breakers, nor did I feel that it was too stuffy to have fun. Some of my guests are planning to party, as are we, and I don't think it's too much of a problem. Just my thoughts...I hope this helps.
  8. We've come to terms w/ this notion...we're having a symbolic ceremony @ Dreams, and having a civil ceremony back at home. BUT, we're not telling anyone this or else thay might not come .
  9. I plan to get all 4 of my BMs a Tiffany pendant. I just bought a Tiffany & Co gift card worth $500 for only $425 on craigslist. The guy selling it met me at the Tiffany's store to make sure it was legit...and it was. Saved me some $$$$ . FYI ebay has some gift cards too.
  10. How sad. Word to the wise...be VERY careful in the hospital. Let's just say if any of my family members, God forbid, gets hospitalized, I would never leave their side.
  11. I have a few guests that are attending my wedding in Cabo from NY. I want to contact an airline for a discount code. To all the brides, and BTBs from the east coast getting married in Cabo, what airline are you booking?
  12. OMG, I love your dress! It's gorgeous on you...very flattering!
  13. Beautiful! Plus, I'm sure your BMs will wear it again!

Tammy (host) is a really good resource and TA that can help you out. I loved Dreams! The pics don't do that place justice.
  15. Oh Erica...I just came across this thread. You guys are so cute together!!! Love the pics!
