  1. Everything looks wonderful Paula! Have an amazing time! I can't wait to hear all about it!

It helps not to start from scratch!
  4. I completely agree with the other girls --- I went solo and narrowed it down to 2 ... then I took my mom and best friend. For me, I felt like I could move through the dresses much more quickly ... Have fun! Can't wait to see pictures!
  5. oooh ... I forgot --- On the invitation - I thought it might be nice to change town square to "Plaza Mijares" ... just a thought!
  6. Maura -- the invitations are beautiful and I think your wording looks great. As for limiting the number of RSVP's - is there a way to do this on the website? Which hosting program are you using? We used weddingtracker.com and you enter in the number of guests per invitee --- it won't let you rsvp for more. If you had that option, then a guest trying to enter more rsvp's than are allowed under their name will most likely call you. I tend to agree with Jose on the formal invites ... I like to stick to simple. As for the transportation provided ... I agree with the other girls ... a small line at the bottom would be fine. BUT --- IMO you could skip it altogether. Since you are directing people to your website - you could provide that information there. Are you doing a newsletter before you leave? That's also an opportunity to let people know that you'll be providing transportation! I love the colors you picked --- so classic!!! So exciting!
  7. What a great find Maura! AND - your e-ring is beautiful!!! You are so on top of things ... we need to get on the ball with getting ours ... instead of getting the one that matches my e-ring, we going to do a temporary for right now since we just bought a house! (which is TOTALLY ok with me!!!). But --- we really should start thinking about ordering or purchasing!

Oh and I think quite a few girls (Sarah and Julie for sure) got their girls dresses at Burlington Coat Factory. Thanks Christine! I've been debating because on the one hand we're heading into easter season, so I thought I might find something in stores ... but then I get worried that we WON'T find anything so I think about ordering!!! I need to make a decision soon!
  9. They look great Amy! SUCH a good idea to have the guests indicate who wants what meal ... we just did the standard "indicate your dinner selection(s)" and since I'm doing personalized menus ... I'm having to find out from couples exactly who wants what ... You're such a smarty! (and, I think it's perfect how you've handled the problem of unexpected numbers showing up ...)
  10. Congratulations Tami!!! That's awesome! The scales don't matter --- I totally think the best reward is having to buy new clothes!!!

Thanks Maura! The "try on policy" is awesome ... Their dresses are super cute, too. It's always nice to know that someone has ordered from them and been happy!
  12. Does anyone know of a vendor for horse drawn carriages? Specifically, one that will come to San Jose? I've gotten one quote for $700. Just thought I would check around ... We're thinking of leaving the reception in one ...
  13. I'm not actually having a flower girl ... but I'm looking for a dress for my 8-yr-old daughter . Has anyone ordered from either of these websites? Online Flower Girl Dresses Catalog- Flower Girl Dress - PEGEEN or Little Flowers by Odyssey Wear
  14. Those are beautiful!!! That's so funny because I was going for my dress fitting on Thursday ... I had already bought a pair of shoes, but wanted to do a quick run-through the mall one last time ... I found a pair at Stuart Weitzman that I loved - they were down from $275 to $89 ... they are off getting dyed ... Definitely a great sale going on!

That is the perfect gift I was searching for ... I couldn't come up w/ something for our moms, and this is something that they will both love!!! Thanks for sharing!
  16. Oh Maura --- it's beautiful! I'm so glad you found it --- and for such a great deal!!! And, since I just forked over about $300 for alterations ... your lady is a saint! Perfect!
  17. how big are you planning your wedding to be? we only had a little less than 7 months ... i did send out STD's 6 months before the date so that people could start making plans. BUT - in hindsight ... i think i could have done without. we're only having about 35 to 40 ... and we've been in pretty constant contact with everyone. if you decide not to do them, but know that some of your guests might need a little extra planning time due to budget or work schedules --- then you might give them a heads up soon ...
  18. HOORAY! Maura --- I haven't been on in awhile because things have been crazy here .... but I'm so excited you got the church!!!! That's wonderful!!!
  19. Congratulations Alyssa!!!! Yet another perfect pick!!!
  20. Welcome fellow Dallasite! You're going to love it here! Congratulations and let me know if I can help with anything!
  21. Tami - both of the dresses are great! I think you're right ... they will really complement the detailing of your dress (which is BEAUTIFUL!). Great choices!

They have some great things to offer, but I have no clue how much $$$$.....Side note.... I emailed my WC saying I was researching using a different vendor to save some money if possible and got a very long response back scolding me for going outside their vendor..... I wanted to write something nasty back about how its my damn money I'm spending, and I will research whomever I want! I feel like they are charging way too much for items I know other brides have gotten for cheaper! Anyways...off subject...sorry! That stinks ... for some things I'm willing to pay extra to have my WC coordinate and arrange ... but for others (especially depending on the price) ... the prices are way too much! The bottom line is that they can screw all the brides out there that 1) have money to burn, or 2) are unwilling to do the legwork themselves!!! Hmmm ... that sounded a bit harsh ... I do feel sorry for the ones that have no idea that there are cheaper options and haven't discovered a great resource like bdw ....
