  1. We're doing a table with pictures of our grandparents - only my grandmother can make the trip. All of our grandfathers have passed away ... we'll have a sign with the Eskimo Proverb that says "Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours down and shines through to let us know they are happy." The picture holders are from Pier One: For the cake table: And Cake Favor boxes: Entrance of La Panga (where we're having the reception): Here's the outdoor space of La Panga:
  2. My OOT bags (Ordered them from Marci's Mexican Wonders at www.mexicanwonders.com - Mexican Handcrafts for the World and she shipped them directly to hotel). Stuff for the bags (we're going to get snacks, bottled water, and small bottles of alcohol when we get there): We also ordered mexican wrestling masks for the kids and a few other fun things from Marcia's Mexican Wonders. Gifts for our moms (Can't remember who did this earlier, but got the idea from one of the girls. Our birthday is engraved on one side and wedding date on the other. Frames were from Picture Frames, Photo Albums, Personalized and Engraved Digital Photo Gifts - SendAFrame - I was really happy with the engraving and the quality of the frame. We got the silver-plated because the sterling silver ones were over $300!).
  3. Hi Girls! I've been M.I.A. the last week or so --- it's been CRAZY! Phil and I leave on Tuesday!!!! Here's my stuff! The Rings: His ring (ordered from Tungsten Jewelry - Mens & Womens Tungsten Carbide Wedding Rings, Bands, Watches & Bracelets They also do engraving - they send you the ring first to make sure it's the one you want ... then you send it back to them. Unfortunately, I couldn't decide what I want to have engraved in time to have it done before the wedding ... The dress is the Semilla from Pronovias and I bought it at LuLu's in Dallas (they were AWESOME): My Flowers: My Shoes: My dress for TTD Session the next day: Daughter's Dress from Strausburg Children (great if you have kids that hate "itchy" - all their dresses are fully lined with super-soft cotton) Son's Suit from Nordstrom's (they have FREE alterations and great brands like Joseph Aboud):
  4. Thanks girls for the ideas! Quote: Originally Posted by Kat81 I'm getting his engraved with.. to the moon and back. He always tells me he loves me to the moon and back ten times... Apparently it doesn't take too long to have it done - I just can't decide what I want it to say, so we'll wait until we get back. Quote: Originally Posted by PaulaV We actually did not. 5. I got my shipment and they are beautiful! Thanks Carly and Trisha!!!
  6. If so ... with what? (sorry if there is already another thread on this ...)
  7. So pretty - I love your colors! They remind of Angela's (cheese_diva) --- and I loved hers! Great job!

I just finished with my final dress fitting and it was the first one with the cups actually sewn in. LOVED THEM! The cups definitely had a little padding to them - almost like with a push-up bra - it really filled out the bodice nicely. I had been debating this issue as well. I completely agree with Nicole - if your dress is altered correctly that should be all you need. My dress already had an elastic hook-and-eye closure type band that was practically a built in bra and the bodice of the dress had boning - I just felt like I had too many layers with a corset on under the dress. Now that I've tried the dress with the cups sewn in - it was perfect!
  12. How tragic. Thank you for posting - the officer's family and his colleagues will be in my thoughts and prayers. It's easy to forget how much they risk each and every day ...

It's always so nice when someone can answer these things!
  14. Leia - thanks for this post! I love the songs Mora recommended! I don't think it would be weird at all for them to do traditional during the ceremony and then something different for cocktail hour. We're having a trio during the ceremony - we gave them a few songs that we like just to give them an idea of what we had in mind, but we didn't give them a play list. My only specific was to walk to Canon in D and we may have the cellist play Ave Maria during the ceremony. Afterwards we're having mariachis who are going to begin playing as soon as we're pronounced and then they will escort us to the reception and continue playing during cocktail hour. I love the list that Mora provided! I have a friend who is also going to come up with some request for that time - I'll get that from him and I'll post it when I get it! Do you know what instruments you're having in the trio?

  16. You're so creative! I agree with the other girls --- I like the first picture the best --- I love the combination of the flowers and shells. I also agree with going with either the floating flower or submerged like Angel's (cheese_diva's). If you stick with the neutral colors on the outside - you might consider doing a really bright bloom in the vase for contrast ... One other thought - have you checked the burn time on the ikea tea lights? I think that some other girls have warned on other posts that they don't last very long ...
  17. Paula - you look gorgeous! I absolutely love your bright flowers and beautiful bridesmaids dresses! And, could the ocean have been any more blue or the day any more perfect? Congratulations on your perfect day!
  18. Congratulations Michelle! The dress is beautiful and it DOES fit you perfectly! I'm so glad you found the one that you love!
  19. I love red and turquoise together! It will beautiful together. I think that I always prefer shorter centerpieces - I always find it distracting if I can't easily converse with the person across the table. Depending on the volume and height of the flowers - 7 inches may be a bit tall. If the flowers are as round as then appear in the picture - then I think that a shorter, wider vase would be pretty and still add a lot of color to your tables. As for ribbons, I've never been able to Michael's since they almost always have 40% off coupon and frequently have ribbon 1/2 off. Once you add in shipping costs ... Of course - I've never really looked very hard on-line. There have been a number of on-line michael's-type sites mentioned by the girls! Good luck - I can't wait to see it all come together!
  20. Just fyi - I had her ship directly to the hotel (with the owner's permission) - I think that the regular post was 18 to 21 days for shipping within Mexico.
  21. I think it will be beautiful! I think that the little bit of contrast against the ivory dress will just make the flowers stand out more beautifully. It will be lovely!
  22. Thanks for sharing! Perfect timing ... I'm trying to finish gathering all the things for my bags this week!
  23. Wow! What a great site .... thanks for sharing ... I'm definitely going to spend some time browsing around!!!
