Here goes! I used the Cutterpede paper cutter from Michael's (about $20) --- it has attachments that you purchase separately for about $3 each --- I used the scorer (for the pockets) and the perforator. I bought the red string-tie envelopes from Paper Presentation Button String Tie Envelopes: paperpresentation.com (Quick note: You have to pay 17 cents extra to mail string-tie envelopes) I'm still trying to upload my template ...

Wow! What a great post --- Thanks! -
OOOOOOH - you ROCK! I love these ... I've been searching, but haven't come up with anything I really loved ... I'm making my own napkins which are simple --- a natural cotton with scalloped edges from different colors (red, lime green, turquoise, yellow, and orange). I think that these runners would be perfect! Thanks!

Congratulations! I'm from Dallas and I'm getting married in San Jose del Cabo in March - Let me know if I can answer any questions!

My only question is...now that I have some templates...where do I go from here? How do I go about making my own?? I'm so confused...AS ALWAYS! I used the Cutterpede paper cutter (I think I paid around $20) --- it comes with the paper cutter and you can purchase a scorer (for the pockets) and a perforator separately for like $3 each. I also used a corner punch to make the edges rounded ... I played around with different papers and actually found that plain cardstock worked the best (better than Bristol). You can get that in bulk for cheap!

WOW! I love the fact that when I watch Juan's slideshows I feel like I get a true taste of the actual day! Natalie you looked beautiful and your joy shines through the pictures! Congratulations!

there's NO shame in cutting money --- are you kidding me? it sounds like you're making awesome choices. if it makes you feel better, i'm buying my napkins here and bringing them with me because it's silly to rent napkins at 4 bucks a pop and risk not liking them when you get there. i'm paying half that and i'll own them! as for your cake question - have you thought about a something simple like a tres leches cake bought at one of the local grocery stores? i hope it doesn't sound cheesy - but i live in dallas and we have "fiesta" stores here ... one of my FAVORITE cakes ever is their tres leches cake and it is simply decorated with white icing and fresh ... and it's CHEAP. i don't know where you're staying or how difficult it would be to transport it, etc. but it was just an idea. believe me, if i could ship one for my own wedding, that's what i'd be doing in a heartbeat! Or, could you have a plainly iced cake and purchase some fresh flowers the day of and have someone you trust decorate it? i read somewhere to not tell vendors that you need a cake for a wedding - instead, just say you're having a party ... supposedly this cuts costs.

Hi! I told you that I would check on our transportation (from my other post) --- I forgot that my WC is off on Thursdays ... I'll ask her tomorrow and get back to you! Just didn't want you to think I forgot!

I would say start now ... especially with the holidays around the corner. That way you can get into the routine of the program. They say that the average holiday weight gain is around 5 to 7 lbs! When I did WW - I pretty much figured if during that time I stayed the same, I was ahead! I also agree that waiting tends to put on more "pressure" - which for me is never good! Good Luck!

They are even giving us the option of having vans return back to the hotel since there will be some that will want to stay and go out in Cabo and some that will probably return earlier. Welcome Corey! Wow you've got your planning together. I'm doing a Pez Gato cruise as well. Should be fun! May I ask where you are getting you transportation from? This is a very reasonble price! I wnat to use them! Hi Amber! We're getting the transportation through my WC - she's with wedding in paradise ... I'm not sure who the company is - I can try to find out ... I'll let you know!

Need Help on Location for wedding In Cabo!!!
coreyphil replied to mhoudek's topic in Cabo Accommodation & Site
Hi! Do your guests also have budget restrictions? My FI and I are paying for our wedding, too - and we're working with about the same budget. We're planning on 35 - 40 guests ... BUT we're also paying for a welcome dinner on Thursday, a dinner and sunset cruise on Friday, and the reception on Saturday. We're also covering the rooms of some of friends (who are wonderful people working for peanuts --- we love the social workers, firemen, and ministers of the world!). I think that you can stay within your budget. I've also heard that AI's cut down on costs - but they were generally more expensive than what we wanted to ask our guests to pay. We're having our wedding at El Encanto and our reception at La Panga. We really like smaller hotels and we loved the character of El Encanto. I can't seem to attach anything ... but if you want to PM me w/ your email - I can send you our menu pricing for La Panga. - We're paying about $3800 for a cocktail reception and full dinner. Since we're doing the cocktail hour - we're doing bar on consumption afterwards ... we just don't have a lot of friends that drink that much! (The $3800 includes $1000 for alcohol - and that's probably a high estimate!). I've also been told that it's common in Cabo for places to waive ceremony fees if you book 10 or more rooms for 2 nights or more. El Encanto didn't offer this because we're getting married during the spring break period and they're really busy. Instead, we're getting the honeymoon suite. It seems like a lot of resorts don't charge a fee if you stay a week at the resort - some of the other brides probably know a lot more about this! I agree with you - money for a photographer was much more important to me than a lot of other things! I'm sure you'll get lots of help here! -
Congratulations on your success so far --- I'm a big fan of WW. I went after both my children (I gained 60 pounds with my son and I'm only 5'3''!) --- I really believe it is the best program out there ... I'm also an RN so I can also say that it is one of the few that is medically safe! I always found that paying money to stand on a scale in front of someone kept me honest! I just wanted to say good luck! And, don't get discouraged ... there were plenty of weeks where I would gain like .3 lbs or lose only .1 ... but if you look at the picture over the long term ... you're still losing! Just stick with it! Here's a website you might find helpful (someone may have already posted it): Dottie's Weight Loss Zone Dotti's Weight Loss Zone She's calculated points for a ton of food at different restaurants. Best Wishes!

Going to Cabo on Friday-Anyone need me to do anything???
coreyphil replied to jak27's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
Hi Jill - what a thoughtful offer! I'm getting married in March and I'm not doing a site visit (I'm a full time student and single mom --- so time's a little scarce!). IF you happen to think of it when you're there ... would you peek at prices on candles at costco and maybe see if they have small mirrors that can be used as centerpieces? I still haven't decided on what to do for our tables - we'll only have 5 or 6. I'm considering bringing things from here ... but don't want to travel with them if they have reasonable prices there! I've just heard that prices in Cabo are not as inexpensive as you might think Mexico would be --- so I'm just curious is Costco there has similar prices as the ones here! Since you're offering - just thought I'd ask! Have a wonderful trip ... November will be here in a blink! -
Thanks Tammy! I'm so sorry you had such a frustrating experience! This process is supposed to be FUN! I'm also glad that you found someone who worked well for you --- your pictures were wonderful and your wedding was beautiful! Most of all thanks for being so honest --- this forum is truly a godsend --- I feel like I can look anything up and find real answers!

Nope - we haven't been to Cabo before ... We just tend to like a little "quieter" places ... from all that I'd read - San Jose was a less developed (but quickly catching up) and offered art galleries, smaller venues, etc. Also - we're at the beginning of Spring Break season, so we were trying to escape that scene (actually, our single friends may be seeking out that scene ...). Is that your experience? Seriously - I want your honest opinion - I know that sometimes "quaint" can equate to "boring" and "historic" can equate to "run-down" ... Thanks for the restaurant and bar recommendations! We know that some of our friends will definitely want to hit Cabo San Lucas nightlife - that's why we've planned some time there ...

I love #4 - it's beautiful! -
Hi Leia! Congratulations! I'm pretty new at all of this, too - but I'm glad to offer any help I can! My FI and I are getting marriend in San Jose del Cabo on March 8, 2008. We're doing using Juan Carlos and our cake is being done by Deena at Sweet Dreams. Even though our ceremony and reception will be in San Jose del Cabo - we'll be doing some actvities and having a couple of meals in Cabo San Lucas --- let me know if you have any questions! (But, in all honesty, this site already answers almost any that you might have! It's amazing!).
