Congratulations on your engagement and welcome to the forum! Do you have any ideas / preferences? Beach, island, etc ...? Or, are you just starting to check it all out? Either way there's a ton of great information and wonderful people here --- you'll find lot's of help!

Thanks Maura and Tami! We're only sending out a total of 33 invitations and are really expecting just around 35 to be able to attend (after subtracting grandmothers who won't be able to attend, friends we know have other commitments, etc.). On one of the STD pages it said "We'll miss you if we don't hear from you by Jan. 15th ...." So, hopefully with the formal invitations will remind people to let us know! I'm feeling a little better about it ... Thanks for your feedback! It always helps!

Hi girls - I'm super-excited because I finalized our invitations this morning! I love, love, love them. They are letterpress and beautiful! I'll post a picture once they are in! I have already sent out STD's and we are only having about 30 to 40 guests --- so we have a pretty good idea of who is coming and who is not! But, we wanted to do formal invitations as well. We are getting married on March 8th. I need to release the rooms in our block that we aren't going to be using by January 15th. So - I would like to have the RSVP replies in by January 4th. Shannon - who is designing and doing the letterpress - suggested mailing them on December 21st so that they hit mailboxes the following week ... most likely after Christmas. She recommended having a short reply time because it encourages people to not procrastinate sending them back! Am I smoking crack thinking that I am actually going to get replies during the holiday rush? On the one hand, it is not critical that they come in by the 4th ... I'll just be on the phone calling people that we're still waiting for confirmation from ... but, on the other hand - it would be nice to have them back. It seems like I get most holiday cards earlier in December ... so, in my head, I thought that maybe this wouldn't be such a big deal. But as the holiday craziness is setting in --- I'm starting to get a bit worried. What do you think?

The hotel we're at has one, but I believe it is a "Use at your own risk" kind of thing ... Maybe buying my own would be a better idea! That way I would know it wasn't going to 'spit' or discolor my dress ... Sorry - I don't know of any tux rental places - but I'm sure someone will know!

Carly --- I'm dying to see the pictures ... !!!

I'm glad you like it ... It was a happy diversion from studying last night! Here's what I think is funny - I pulled it up by searching "San Patrick" and "Desiree" ... not sure by what combination, etc. - but it only comes up on foreign websites! I know that Pronovias / San Patrick is a huge international company ... and there is apparently a Pronovias "Desiree" coming out in the 2008 collection according to one of the Ebay Retailers. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a picture of it anywhere ... I'm wondering if it will be the same dress ... like they market it in the US as a Pronovias? (which may be why the dress shop had difficulty finding the one you tried on before ...) Anyhoo ... my girlfriend is going to call the shop here that carries San Patrick and talk to the girl who she worked with when she bought her dress! Sara is super-nice and maybe she'll be able to answer some questions! I'll let you know what I find out! In the meantime --- I also really like the Exclusive dress, too. Maybe altering the back would be possible ... -
I love birthdays! Heidi - I hope yours is wonderful!

I wasn't sure if when you said that you couldn't find the San Patrick dress anywhere online - whether you meant you couldn't find a picture of it, or you couldn't find it on sale .... here's the pic I found ... It's from the 2006 collection - so I have a really hard time believing you can't find a good deal on it! I'm going to ask my girlfriend to call the shop where she bought her dress (hers was San Patrick, too). I'll keep checking around online to see what I can come up with ... so far I've only been finding it on german wedding dress sites crazy ... In the meantime ... take a deep breath, survive finals, and just know you'll find the perfect one! It will happen, I promise! -

I didn't see an actual picture - so maybe this will help: I bought it all at Michael's - the paper cutter is the Cutterpede with one attachment for perforating and one for scoring (which - I didn't know before this project, but just creates a crease so the paper folds and makes a sharp line). The paper cutter is the black thing - I found mine on all same aisle as all the paper hole punches that are in shapes ... which I overlooked it twice which is easy to do among all the hearts, flowers, stars, etc. I'm completely impressed w/ the trick on cutting the inner corners - I skipped that part and opted for easy! Here's a pic of my finished STD's: Oh - and for the paper - I found that printing on card stock worked best for my printer. I tried a few on heavy bristol and on fine art paper, too. The bristol made them too bulky (we had 3 actual "passes" in each STD) and the ink tended to bleed on the art paper. That's just what worked for me - which I was happy with because it was cheaper! Hope it helps! Good luck - and I can't wait to see them! Ohhh ... and check you paper for Michael's coupons ... they had both a 50% off and a 40% off single items in last week's Sunday edition ... you had to use them separately, but that's not hard to do!
-
You two look amazing! Beautiful pictures! I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of them! Sorry for one more question - but did you wear your wedding dress for your TTD session, or is it a different one? I couldn't tell from the pic and I'm still deciding on what to do about mine ... (the duiponi silk apparently won't survive the water pics ...)

So sweet --- what adorable eyes! Congratulations - puppies are a lot of work, but so much fun! I think that it'll be great to have the her potty trained before having diapers to change, too!
