  1. This is gross, but I got sea lice bites in the ocean in Cancun once (in March.) Most of the hotels have little outdoor showers when you come in from the beach (so you don't get sand in their pool, etc.) I always use those if I've been swimming and haven't had a problem since. The best thing would be to go right to your room and shower after you've been in the ocean. The cream/treatments are also always available in the hotel shops and they work well.
  2. OK, so I knew going into my wedding planning that my thick, frizz-prone hair always turns into a fuzzball in Cancun. I figured I could combat this by wearing it curly, though I normally straighten it every day. I'm just wondering about the overall aptitude of the hairstylists at the salon at the Moon Palace... I don't really want to look like a complete dork. If anyone knows from experience, please let me know!
  3. I would love some info about EDR too... we booked there because it was the cheapest and still looked great... I have never stayed anywhere except Palace Resorts. FH is especially curious about the tours and activities they offer.
  4. Hi Desiree! I am a MP bride, too, 11/8/08! I couldn't see your proof, but I used magnetstreet as well and was very happy with the magnets. (We ended up ordering more from a different company later because we kept inviting people... we are up to about 150 now.) I have no idea how many of my guests have booked yet, because most people are finding better deals than what I got from the TA we are using. Hope we can help each other out in the planning process! Good luck!
  5. Why is there a difference between a vow renewal and a religious ceremony in the first place? We have to be "legally married" before we go to the Moon Palace since the religious ceremony is not legally binding. Also, I just got an e-mail from the Palace the other day about 'symbolic' ceremonies now being available. Naturally, I can't find it now... ugh...
  6. I am getting married at the Moon Palace on 11/8/08. I know it's costing our guests a FORTUNE, most of them are only staying four days. Some people are taking advantage of those "timeshare-talk" deals at other hotels to get there cheaper. We invited about 140 people and I think no more than 20 have booked so far. We're also looking at the El Dorado Royale for after the wedding! Any info you have would be appreciated. My travel agent has been suggesting it, but she kind of sucks and I don't really trust her anymore.
  7. Hey Moon Palace brides! I am getting married there as well on 11/8. When do they let you start on booking the reception sites?
  8. Just wanted to pop in to say that I am also a Moon Palace bride, 11/8/08. I am not getting ANY information at all this far out, but my TA is pretty familiar with everything. I'll keep checking in with you ladies as I know stuff and to see what you have found out as far as private reception info. I get the feeling that they are a pain in the @ss for the Moon Palace to do and that's why they try to steer us away from them... obviously I am undeterred!
  9. Hi ladies! My name is Kris, and I am having a Catholic ceremony at the Moon Palace on 11/8/08. I'm already so excited, but there is SO much to do! I'm anxious to meet you all and share tips and frustrations
