  1. i'm not in love with jill, but i think i'll give her a shot. but i don't think she can do the hot dog theory with all 25 guys- everyone would pick mustard! is this the first canadian bachelorette? i'm not used to watching/hearing canadians on tv (that probably sounds weird but we don't really get any canadian programming) and so sometimes the way she says things really throws me off and makes me stop paying attention to what she is actually saying! i'm probably the only one that happens to.. hah.
  2. i kind of agree, susan. i'll give jillian a shot, but i don't really dig her that much. i think someone on here said it, but she should have said screw the bachelorette and got her own show on hgtv or something.
  3. i was at a wedding last month, and one of the readers on her way back to her seat, fell flat on her face and fell down the altar steps.. it took like 30 seconds for anyone to even get up and help her and the bride and groom who were literally just a few steps away just sat there. i know it's wrong but it was hilarious!!
  4. i love the nannerpuss!! i seriously crack up everytime, but i know it makes some people crazy
  5. there are lots of peekers around here http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t22089
  6. hi connie, here is a thread about this- http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t7041
  7. hi stelladora, there are a lot of threads about this. try using the search function next time, but here are a few links to get you started. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t34701 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t33346 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1734
  8. having a private honeymoon was the best thing we ever did. had we come home right after our wedding i think it would have felt more like a big family vacation and not my wedding week. we ended up going from mexico to belize which i know may not in everyone's budget, but i think even switching hotels/resorts or sides of the island/country is worth it.

So, if you can do your taxes online on your own, it's worth it! that's how much ours were also, so unfortunately, i think that's pretty standard unless you know someone.
  10. jac i like 1 and 4. i think 2 is a little too modern for your dress and i think the bun is huuuuuge in 3 and if you add the tiara it might be too much, kwim?
  11. ok, so it seems like the first thing i need to do is find a lawyer! for this service, what type of lawyer would i look for? i know that there are special estate lawyers, but can any lawyer do this? and erin, i def agree that it's the "responsible" thing to do.. i know for a fact that my parents do not have one and think because they don't really have anything, that they don't need it. being the oldest sibling i know that someday this is all going to fall on top of me. i certainly don't want to do that to anyone else!
  12. we just got our return deposited today! i was amazed we didn't owe NJ. NJ always makes you pay something. but i'm really happy it went through when it did and now we have a nice savings. hope you don't have to pay anything!
  13. ok so this is a slightly morbid subject, but neither dh or i have a will. now that we're married and actually have an "estate" we have been thinking about writing a living will, last will and testament, and anything else we may need like a health-care power of attorney. has anyone done this? would you recommend drafting all three of those documents? of course, we each know what the other one would want in case something happens, but is it best to have these wishes down on paper? we're really not sure where to start. i've done my fair share of googling but would appreciate any first-hand information. also, i searched the forum but came out empty, so if there are threads about this please throw them my way!
  14. for anyone who wants to save some money on groceries! i've been using this for about 4 months now and i save between $50-$90 a month. it's very easy to use, you just have to be diligent about clipping coupons. if anyone wants to sign up, let me know and i'll send you a referral email!
  15. we had a 3pm ceremony and served HDs after.. they were eaten right up.
  16. there are tons tons tons of threads on this.. try using the search function.
  17. shannon, i was laid off about two months ago and it's been stressful BUT not unbearable. i'm in NJ also and the unemployment benefits actually aren't that bad. i'd honestly say that the worst part of it all is emotional and feeling expendable, it's a crummy feeling. but anyway, if it happens and you have any questions about NJ unemployment, let me know. i'm a friggin expert.
  18. i was cleaning out my wedding pics and realized i never posted resort pics in here.
  19. i thought i had a picture of the chapel, but i guess not. it was our backup location in case it rained (we married at the yucatan) and we thought it was very pretty. it's a little close to the lobby entrance which i didn't love but no biggie. i thought it was pretty small also, so if you had a lot of guests it wouldn't work. and welcome!

  22. i'm a little late on this, but that's a bummer andrea. we also didn't have the budget for an outside photog, so instead we budgeted the purchase of photoshop. of course, i couldn't change who was in what pics, etc, but i was able to make them look MUCH more professional looking. i'm pretty sure mine weren't photoshopped at all when i received them. if you need help, or if you have a couple that you want me to play with, let me know. you should have atleast a few that you are proud to display.. otherwise that's unfair. Everything looks gray and blah. We had to get back to the ship and were super rushed because of a missing minister situation that made everything happen late. I so wish we would have figured out a way to hire a photographer to come along with us.

  24. i'm not sure how often she's on here now, but you may want to pm martha. this happened to her so i'm sure you could get some first hand advice. but i also agree that bd/maternity pics would be very special!
