oh abby, i hear ya. i was laid off two months ago and we're still taking a big anniversary trip! suze orman would tell us we're crazy, but whatever! and good to know your stepson is doing okay! ok, so i'm not much of a gusher in my real-life or bdw, but i have to gush for a sec hah i've been in the middle of a career change for about a year now. going from business/project management into teaching high school spanish. it's been tough with night class, getting laid off and trying to find a teaching job when i have no real teaching experience yet. last week i had an interview for a long term sub position for the end of the year, and found out that they are looking to extend it to go to next school year also. awesome. well i just got a call back from another school that i applied to solely for next year, and found out that they'd want me to start next month to finish out the year also! so now i have two huuuuge leads that could very well end up in two offers both for this year and next. both schools have their pros and cons and are both actually pretty opposite. one's public, the other private. one's an hour away, the other is 15 minutes. so i'm really unsure which one i'd take if they were both offered. but i'm so happy to be in this position! yay!

carly, i feel the same way. i honestly think being married is the best thing in the world and even though nothing has changed, things are just different somehow. just a million time nicer. abbie, i knew you must be super busy! that's nice that you and doug finally get some alone time. any idea when his strike might end?

i'm with morgan and lauren. i'm so glad i never have to plan and fuss over all those details. i just wish everyone else i knew was already married so i didn't have to be a bridesmaid too! otherwise, we're boring. i'm currently a housewife (hah) due to the economy which has been a big adjustment. but i'm also in the middle of a career change so it's been a little stressful. we are going on an (early) anniversary trip on one of the mediterranean cruises so i'm pretty stoked about that. kate- congrats on the pregnancy!

i'll help you out- i used a resort photog and had to manipulate mine as well. i budgeted photoshop into my wedding budget knowing that i'd have to do some edits. since i'm in the states, would it be easier to work through email attachments? it's up to you..

i was laid off about 2 months ago, and dealing with it emotionally is the toughest part so don't feel bad about that. i didn't even like my job, but i was still devastated. give yourself a week or two to feel like crap, then just stop. do your best to not let it go longer than that. look for a job and be aggressive about it, but still let this be an opportunity to do some things you never had a chance to because you were too busy. chances are, you'll never have this much free time until you retire! i wrote this in your other thread, but i'm in nj also, so if you have any questions about the unemployment process let me know.

hmm.. this isn't exactly what you are looking for, but maybe i can help. i used this: and turned it into this for my invites: if you can find an idea of what you'd like without all the arrows and rings (which i would think is easier) you can add all the other stuff to it with a photoshop type program and this way you can make sure it's in your colors, etc.

i'm passing mine down. i had a custom made mantilla and after the wedding my younger sister said she'd like to wear it when she gets married. honestly, i think i'd sell my dress before i'd sell my veil! i loved it.

i like southern cruises the best, and then eastern. i've hit a lot of those islands so if you have specific questions, let me know. also, i do think that 7 ports in 7 days is a lot. it's nice to have a day at sea to relax. what cruise line are you thinking of? i've done princess and royal caribbean and i liked rc much better.

i think it's a really fun idea! we had one at our shower and i would have loved to have it at the reception also. i'm a fan of the classic donkey pinata!
