  1. our wedding is in july and we're mailing the invites in march with an rsvp date of early may.
  2. yay! congrats! yea, that place is always crazy, but you just can't beat it!
  3. we didn't go anywhere else! hah... steven singer was the first place we went in and we were so pleased that we didn't bother going anywhere else. the place just really knows what they're doing and they do it well. basically, you need the ring paid off before you take it away. they didn't have mine in white gold so they had to order it and we have until april 1. so we put down a payment now, and will pay off the rest at a later time. also, my wedding band, my e-ring and mike's wedding band (which the last two were not purchased at steven singer) all get free cleanings and rhodium dips before the wedding. so, overall we had a really positive experience there! good luck!
  4. amanda, did you have any luck today? we made out really well... i had no intention of actually buying my ring today because i wanted to order it from Diamonds, Engagement Rings and Fine Jewelry at Blue Nile and i just wanted to go downtown to try some things on before i actually bought. buuuut, we got a really great deal in steven singer so we bought it!! this is my engagement ring this is the ring i originally wanted because it matches the band of my e-ring perfectly. but when i tried it on at steven singer it just kind of blended into the e-ring and didn't look like much. so this is the ring we bought and i love it! it's a little more square and matches the stones that go around the center stone on my e-ring. plus it's bigger than the other one!
  5. so i'm going wedding band shopping tomorrow and i figure the best place to start is jeweler's row. but there are a ton of stores and i don't know one from the other. anyone have a particularly good experience with a store down there? i'm looking for something a bit more on the unique side if that helps...

I can ask my TA but you all know so much I figure I would start here. As you see I'm all over the map but just exploring many options, thanks ) this is my honeymoon... hah. border crossing is straight forward- no paperwork but your passport. however, it's very difficult to be able to rent a car in mexico and take it into belize. most rental agencies won't allow it. there are plenty of private transfer services in belize, that will come pick you up in mexico and take you into belize. we're using BelizeTransfers.com Home. there is public transportation between the two countries and it's very cheap. it can also be very slow and very no frills- think repurposed yellow school bus.
  7. i've never visited but have heard awesome things! i'm headed to belize this summer and i'm already predicting that i'll fall in love with that area of the world!

    2008

So after weeks of not having a clue what 2008 would hold, I’m finally set. I got the job that I’ve been interviewing for. It’s perfect. A raise, a promotion, it’s 10 minutes from home, and no one works a minute over 5pm. This also means that I have my first graduate class on Monday. It was so nerve-wracking knowing that I’m registered for class, but not knowing if I could even attend because my work schedule wouldn’t allow it. So I feel really good about this year. On another note, I get married 6 months from today. Crazy!
  10. i bought a fiskars one from acmoore. it was about $25 and did not come with the perforator blade- i bought that separate. i have no complaints!
  11. hm.. if you were given gifts for christmas i wouldn't send a card unless you normally send thank yous after christmas. it seems like they may not have known what to get you, or wanted to get you something you actually wanted for the holidays so they used the registry. and i would just call my mom and tell her how much i appreciate everything... my mom hates cards!
  12. no matter where in the world you pick, someone will have a gripe about something. so just make yourself happy...
  13. when are you getting married? the WC at the rius usually don't contact you until 1-2 months before the wedding.
  14. don't worry about that... i'm the only one staying at my resort too. there's still tons here to learn from even in the resort-specific threads.
  15. personally, i think a reception on the beach is much more memorable than a reception in a restaurant.
  16. I would like to know: 1) What resort are you getting married at? RIU Yucatan 2) What made you decide those? price, but there are other things we like. it's in the jungle and close very close to playa del carmen. 3) When is your wedding? july 11 08 4) Did you have a hard time choosing too? it was stressful, but there came a point where we stopped stressing and just made a decision. even if our resort doesn't have the fanciest of wedding stuff, at the end of the day we'll be married and on vacation with 40 people we love.
  17. i ordered envelopes from Paper Source - Do Something Creative Every Day and they fit my boarding pass stds perfectly! they have a great color selection too.
  18. we're doing our honeymoon registry with liberty travel. guests buy you certificates for certain events or outings, but in reality we get a gift certificate to liberty. and since we're paying for the wedding/honeymoon ourselves we'll use what we get in certificates to pay off the trip. make sense? www.libertyregistry.com but we also have a target registry so we actually have a few things to open.
  19. so our best friends spent new years in disney world and they bought us a gift from "mexico" in epcot. they're these great little day of the dead figurines and we decided to use them as our cake topper. they just crack me up and i had to share! i found something similiar online here: Unique Handcrafted Gifts - Sunrise Imports
  20. we're getting married in july so i feel for you. fi is coming prepared with two outfits! he has a khaki suit and nice white linen shirt and a really great light orange tie (our color). that would be his ideal outfit. but if the weather is just unbearable he's going to lose the coat and tie. so i guess i'll be surprised!
  21. i've been using the font WMTrees from Download fonts | dafont.com. there are a ton of palms but "h" is my favorite.
