  1. finally finished these babies.. i'm going to print them tomorrow and i plan on mailing them out this week so our guests receive them about a month or so before they leave. the inspiration was from kellymn's which was posted back in january. they look pretty pixelated on screen since i had to switch them to jpgs to upload, but they should print out super clear, which is awesome. let me know if you see any typos!
  2. i'm a registry stalker, but all it's been doing is making me nervous! my shower is in a week from tomorrow and only TWO things have been purchased!!! i'm worried this MyRegistry business was a bad idea for my family, although i thought they were all technologically advanced to handle it. my only hope is that people are buying things and not updating the registry to say that they bought it... now i sound like a greedy bride... and i need to
  3. the cds were pretty easy- just a little tedious. i took 2 4 inch pieces of raffia and glued on to the outside front edge and one on the outside back edge. i didn't wrap all the way around the cd because i was worried you would see the bump of the ribbon underneath the stripe. then i glued the green paper over the raffia. for the cd labels i just used the memorex kit from target. that was definately the easiest part. it was simple, but in the beginning things were not coming out right. so here's my tips: -use a thinner cardstock. i used an 80lb stock for the green stripe and it worked out fine in the end but i think a thinner paper would have been more manageable. i did really like this green paper though because it had a texture to it that i couldn't get in thinner paper. -use crazy glue. i tried 3 different glues; rubber cement, crazy glue and a glue stick. the crazy glue def worked the best. i think it's because the cd cases are coated and therefore not really porous enough to soak up the rubber cement or glue stick so the green paper kept sliding around. -use a paper cutter. they make things a million times easier. i have a fiskers and it only cost $20. def worth it if you don't have one. i attached my word doc that i used for the green stripe. i print a bunch of testers before i printed on the good paper because i wanted to make sure everything was centered on both sides. this is the final version so it should work out for you. also, i forgot to take a pic but the back of the cds have the quote "love is friendship set to music" let me know if you have any questions CD Covers.doc
  4. hey ladies! nice ring, m. and goood job abbie on getting those invites out- such a relief i'm sure. right now i'm just finishing up the last few things! - still working on my update letter, but i expect to finish that this week. - finished menus - finished cds - picked out spot for legal ceremony (gazebo in the boat marina by my house) - need to do starfish placecards - ordered eco-fetti but need to buy the organza bags - ordered petals for tables - my aa flowers ship out next week! - my shower is in 2 weeks! here's some pics:
  5. my bday is december 23. i didn't have too many parties growing up because the timing was always bad, so we saved the parties for the more important years. and the ones i did have were always the week before. and yes, you get screwed out of presents... i wish i had a better experience to tell ya..
  6. congrats! he's going to be huge!!
  7. imo, i would never marry someone that i didn't know inside and out- and that includes what kind of housemate they are.
  8. morgan i'm so excited that it's almost your turn! everything looks great!
  9. we are staying at the blue tang inn. it's pretty cute and quaint and right in "downtown" san pedro. i'm very excited!
  10. yea so today i was pretty pissed about the vow thing.. so i emailed back and found out that there are NO vows for the symbolic... it's literally "i do". so i asked if they could then send me the religious one (we're legally getting married at home) and it was clearly verrrrrry religious. which fi and i are not. so i emailed back and told her i'm pretty unhappy with my options. so she said i can send her what i want and she'll forward it on to the officiant and we'll probably have to go back and forth with some tweaking but atleast they are willing to work with me on it. if i were religious, the vows they sent are very pretty! they just aren't us... i think i'll start with the LC vows and see how it pans out from there...
  11. yay morgan, glad you could change it. my wc won't even send me the vows.. she says she isn't allowed... wtf
  12. we bought my fi's ring from here- he loves it! and it was cheap enough that we bought 5 so that he could pick his fave!
  13. i'm flying american from belize to miami and it was pretty reasonable. but i also bought before the gas spike.

  15. i love this show, but imo jackie is pretty much the worst boss ever. she's so unprofessional, it's ridic. but that's probably part of why i really like it.
  16. i did, but that's because we're doing to postcard guestbook. i don't have it near me but it says something like "please take a moment to write us a postcard filled with well wishes and memories. we'll mail them back home and enjoy reading each one after our honeymoon." i printed it on nice green cardstock and put it in a dark wood frame.
  17. aahhhh oh no! i'm sorry your sister is too selfish to be there by your side for your wedding. unfortunately weddings really bring out peoples' true colors... but atleast jose's family sounds like a really nice group and they love you a ton. i know it would never replace your own family but it still helps.
  18. ok, so i literally JUST found out that 2 more people are coming! and they were not included in the 6 i mentioned above... eeekkk.
  19. for the civil ceremony: -need to find location -need to figure out who we're inviting -need cute dress! for the symbolic: -finish cds -finish info packets and mail -moh dresses still need to be altered -fi's ring needs to be engraved -my ring needs to be dipped again -finalize table decor -make placecards -make seating chart -final hair trial now that i have a veil -figure out how we're getting to the airport -who's watching our cats two things are annoying me though. i really wanted petals thrown at us after the ceremony, but i just found out the resort won't allow fakes. i don't really like any other options and i don't want to pay for real. so i guess it's just one less thing for me to buy now. the other thing is that there are 6 people who still have not rsvp'd. normally i would call them. but we're like 99% that they are not coming because these are the 6 people who think it's a bad idea. so... right now we're kind of avoiding calling.. which is not really a good idea either. i don't want it to bite us in the ass later! but i also don't want to open old wounds since we know they are anti-our wedding. bah! also, we have 8 weekends left (holy hell). of those 8 weekends, 5 of them are totally out because of 2 weddings, a bachelorette party, my own shower and party, and our civil ceremony. it's sneaking up SO fast. what about you maura? did you finalize a location for the civil?
  20. omg maura don't stress me outtttttttttttttt!!! i feel like i still have a ton to do!! and now it's so nice out so all i want to do is go to phillies' games and drink beer!
  21. this is so funny because today i was literally going to post how much i love CTS. i just got home from there! i bought really cute orange votives for my centerpieces and they were 2 for 50 cents!!
