our shower was this past saturday! despite the 90+ temps everything was really great. best gift by far was our 4 piece diane von furstenburg luggage us right as it started me, fi and my future in laws our fun photo set up- we used a polaroid and the pics are hilarious bride and groom cakes. later, mexican wedding cookies went on the top tier here you can see how everything was set up.. we had 60 people there was definately not expecting my sister to buy me lingerie silk boxers hahaha and my awesome pops, who despite being diagnosed with cancer 5 days before the shower, still cooked the entire menu! he's awesome.

i went to school with a roland stone. his parents were hippies.

thanks guys! the shower was SO fun. even in the heatwave- we made it work. my bachelorette party was last night so it was a loooong day and i am hurtin! i'll be sure to post pics soon..! maura, how was yours hope it was lovely! btw, we leave for mexico one month from TODAY. holy moly.

sooo, our couple's shower is on saturday and the east coast is facing a heat wave with temps 90+ and wicked humidity. there are 60 people coming to the shower, which is outside in my parents yard. there is zero chance of moving it inside. i guess the good thing is we have no elderly people coming. i'm stressing a little over this because i just don't want anyone to be extremely uncomfortable. here's what we've done so far: -rented enough tents to cover all of the tables so people will be shaded -made up a toiletry basket for the bathroom so everyone can refresh a bit when they go inside -tons of water -reminding those that are coming to the wedding that it will be worse in mexico in july any other ideas?? we are definately running low on time

sure thing. for the majority of the pages i used optimus princep and optimus princep bold. for the tagline across the bottom of each page and the headline on page 1 i used pristina. also on page 1 where it talks about travel docs, i used perpetua. on page 2 where you caught the typo, that's tekton pro. the blue writing on page 3 is called surfboard. everything is either from dafont or just something i had on my computer already. let me know if i missed one you were curious about.

imo, i would talk to your mom or other close female family members. chances are your mom already knows in her head what she wants to do. and most of the time, showers are really to appease other people... you just get to keep the gifts. but we invited beyond our guestlist and that was my mom's decision... may be faux pas for some but it worked out for us.

ooh yum, i love lemon in cake. i just looked at my ticker and nearly died. we're all so close... my shower is in one week and there are 51 people coming!!!! my parents are going nuts since it's in their yard. they rented all these tents and lights and stuff. i'm so excited!
