I do'nt think the band will rest more than 15minutes between each set so we should be fine. Jorge's parents, his bro, and bro's wife and kid left Portugal already for DR today! I cannot believe this is really happening, guys. I just want to say right now that this JULY BRIDES thread has been the best EVER! and I will miss you guys when I'm gone and it has been so fun sharing planning details with you guys. You guys are the best ever. BDW rocks! :) yes- packed! i needed to know what to give to my parents and had even considered shipping things to fi's parents so that they can bring stuff down. so i didn't want to screw myself over in the end. i'm so glad i did.

PS - i am really jealous you are going to belize for you HM! thanks! i got the paper from jo ann fabrics in mount laurel- i think they have the best cardstock choices out of the craft places in our area. there's a little sparkle in them too that you can't really see. and don't tell any of my guests but i'm more excited for belize than mex!
  6. is this just a temporary gig with an end in sight? or does dh want to be there for the long haul? i guess what i'm getting at is if i knew it just a temp resume builder type thing i'd suck it up- though easier said than done. but it's certainly not something i'd be able to live with for years. i don't know if i have advice, but i do think that it's your place to say if it effects your relationship.. sorry i'm no help! hah

I am pretty sure Mexico uses tomatoes from there....just a thought. good call!!! and i didn't even think of that... i'll check with the wc, but worst case scenario and we don't serve it, i'm not making new menus! haha.. i'm so over diy.
  9. yep. we are staying on ambergris caye. we hired a private car service to pick us up at our hotel in playa del carmen and drive us across the border to corazal, belize. from there we are taking a small puddle jumper plane to san pedro (the town in ambergris caye). the whole trip will take about 5-6 hours but we are leaving mexico at 8am. no real direct flights exist from cancun to belize city, so hiring a car is best. we're pretty excited to just relax and watch the mexico countryside and stop in small towns along the way- it's an experience that i don't think many tourists get to do. ambergris caye really has a wide range of hotel choices. they are serious luxury hotels and also smaller b&b type places. we went for a hotel in the middle range right outside the town but it's in walking distance to everything. i use the word "town" pretty loosely. there are only dirt roads and just a handful of cars. coming from the riviera maya i think that belize is one of the most feasible and economic choices, but i'm sure other places would work also.
  10. i'm pretty energized on vacations, but i don't know if i could go right to europe from the caribbean... europe imo is not a relaxing vacation. there is so much to see and so much history that you are constantly going. are there any places you are interested in in central/south america? i think that might be more feasible... but it's your honeymoon! it's should be the best vacation ever!
  11. Immediately from Mexico we are heading to Belize and here is the view from our room: Whew! let me know if anything is too huge! everything looks fine on my pc.

It was my wedding and I wanted to be happy! LOL Also, you need to check into what you get for the money. All of our food, drinks, room service, transfers, watersports (motorized and non-motorized), as well as several excursions were included. Sometimes the rooms might be cheaper but you will end up spending the same amount of money. The bottom line with a DW is those who want to come will come. Those that don't will always have SOME kind of excuse. If it's not the money, it's the timing, the location, the airline, etc. i'm the exact opposite. it was much more worth it for me to have more guests and i was willing to sacrifice the wedding options in order to make others more apt to come. i'm very happy with my resort choice and i'm confident in the riu chain- but it's not on par with many of the other resort options you'll find here. so really, it's depends what your priorities are..
  16. i'll be getting married! it's our legal day.
  17. i agree with alyssa and you should try jcrew or banana. my legal dress is from banana- it's white eyelet.

  20. woooooo july brides!!!! so this week is just full of small last minute things- prescription refills, dry cleaning, etc. we are all packed which is great. i can't believe we fit everything in our bags. legal day is on FRIDAY! and for the past couple days i've been working on my planning thread- i'm trying not to leave anything out!
