  1. i went to belize for my honeymoon- here's my review and if you have any other questions, feel free to ask. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t27313
  2. that is HILARIOUS! but what do you do at that point? i mean, do you finish the ceremony soaking wet? do you go back somewhere and get changed? like what the hell do you do!?!
  3. so i know i'm not the only one with this problem- i always have to buy pants a size larger so that they fit around my thighs and so i ALWAYS have to wear a belt. sometimes i don't mind but if i'm wearing a tighter shirt i constantly have the belt buckle bump. i read about the isabelt in real simple magazine and immediately bought it. it's a clear, flat and adjustable "belt" that fits flush up against your pants and holds everything up without the big belt buckle bump. i've only had it for two days but i seriously love it. now i can actually wear belt as an accessory to an outfit, not a necessity in holding my pants up! the best part is it's only about $20 depending on the size- IsaBelt- The original women's virtually invisible fashion clear belt
  4. thanks everyone! i don't think i'll end up getting her crocs.. although they may be super comfy, and i kind of want some for myself, it's just not really the kind of gift i want to give.. i'm thinking something a little more shoe-like and and with a little more style, kwim? i hadn't thought about merrell or clarks, so i'll definitely check those out! anyone have a style they love? sarah, do you buy your danskos online or in a store?
  5. i know there are a lot of doctors/nurses on this forum so i have a question. my sister is in nursing school and for christmas she wants a real pair of nursing shoes. i think now she is just getting by with what she has, so for christmas i want to get her the best pair i can, cause i am so proud of her! any recommendations on nursing shoes? any thoughts on dansko? they seem to get good reviews. tia!!
  6. just to add on to this, you can send an invite or announcement to quite a few places to get a card and autograph for your scrapbook or something: Mickey and Minnie Mouse The Walt Disney Company 500 South Buena Vista Street Burbank, California 91521 [for CA residents] The Governor & Mrs. Arnold Schwarzenegger State Capitol Building Sacramento, California 95814 The President (or Obama depending on when you send it) The White House Greetings Office Room 39 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue Washington, District of Columbia, 20500 Oprah Winfrey 1058 West Washington Boulevard Chicago, Illinois 60607 Martha Stewart 11 West 42nd Street New York, New York 10036
  7. i personally haven't used them, but two of my former-coworkers have and they both ordered samples before they ordered the whole thing. i believe the samples are only a few bucks and they are exact to what the final product will be, so it's a good deal if you are unsure. the card stock is pretty thick and the colors are very accurate to what is on the site. for some reason i thought the font was going to be raised on them, but it wasn't, it was all flat. also, i remember my coworkers saying they were incredibly efficient. you literally just pick your style, add the names, and go. and i personally love that you can get the same style for pretty much every occasion. i diy'ed my invites, but i was constantly looking at WPD for inspiration. hope that helps a little.
  8. hi ladies, here is the shoe thread http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t18087
  9. i use the boots scrub from target. it's organic and smells delicious. i wouldn't recommend it for sensitive skin because the little scrubbers are pretty hard. here's a whole thread about those little bumps and how annoying they are! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t31431 luckily, my bumps are mild enough that scrubbing alone does the trick. if srubbing doesn't work for you there are tons of medicated suggestions in that thread (although i don't know if your breastfeeding and that would limit you?) good luck martha and glad to know you are lurking around!

  11. i think it sounds fab.. would you be working for this year or taking time off? st. thomas probably has a little more opportunity in terms of a job, however both islands go dead off season. as for slow island living, imo, st john definitely has more of that feel than st. thomas. when we were in belize we met a guy and ended up hanging out with him all week. he moved to belize with nothing but a suitcase and an apartment. he did odd jobs like hosting quizzo at the bar, etc. he only stayed for a year but said it was the best thing he ever did for himself. so good luck with your decision!
  12. aww she is so precious! and karma, you are glowing!!
  13. hey chickies, i found this blog that is pretty interesting. it's all about newlyweds and their ttc adventures. Becoming Mom she pretty much lays everything out there.

  15. this is from the us embassy in panama: Panama Information Marriage in Panama 1. Fill out the application for a license to enter into marriage before the competent court for the jurisdiction where at least one of the parties live. 2. Health Certificate, including: a. General Medical Exam, b. Lab Tests: Hemoglobin Electrophoresis, Hematic Biometry, VDRL, Urinalysis. These documents must be issued within the last 15 days prior to the ceremony by a registered physician. 3. Birth Certificate 4. If the parties have not been married previously, a certificate (Certificado de Solteria) to that effect must be presented. 5. Two witnesses of legal age, not related to any of the parties (i.e. within the fourth grade of consanguinity or second degree of kinship or by adoption). Which means the following cannot be a witness: brother/sister, cousin, uncle/aunt, nephew/niece, son/daughter-in-law, father/mother- in-law or brother sister-in-law-of the couple to be married. 6. "Cedula" or passport with corresponding visa. i don't know what those tests mean, but that is what they test for. and worst case scenario, the wedding is done symbolic and you are legally married at home. i know that's not what you want, but we had a symbolic (not because of med reasons) and not a single guest knew the difference.
  16. actually i think i have the exact same ones that becks was selling.. there are four of them. i'm pretty sure i took a pic of them.. let me check
  17. aww that's a bummer.. i don't know what you should do about the manager but in the meantime you need to figure out some cute ways to style it! my hair is in a pretty short bob right now also, but i'm not in your situation cause that's what i wanted. i usually style it with a side part off to one side with all of the bangs swept over as well. the key is a good flat iron and styling products. as for a ponytail i use lots of bobby pins and hide them with a stretchy headband or scarf. hope that helps a little!
  18. a breville juicer!! and i'm excited because i know i got it.. now just have to wait!

  20. does anyone know the best way to clean floor tile grout? i have light tan ceramic tile with white grout in the bathroom which has not been sealed (previous owners' dumb idea) and now all of the grout in front of the tub and sink is a dark brown and the rest of the room is white. looks awful! i googled this and there were dozens of different ideas but before i go and wing it, has anyone used a particular product or method? i did a quick test of tub and tile cleaner and a hard bristled toothbrush, and it worked out okay, but not as great as i had hoped. tia!!
